couture vs lesnar

Until that punch connected, Lesnar didn't have **** for Randy. But that is neither here nor there.

is it just me or did randy not look as sharp as when he fought ganzaga and silvia perhaps age has caught up to him

not trying to take any limelight away from brock

well he actually looked great to me, was dodging GREAT, but I said to my wife when he got hit with that last knee in the clench "man hes hurt" you can see he was backing up thats a huge sign and he wasnt focused enough to dodge that lights out hit....

plus those hammers brock throws are mighty huge and fast as hell.

couture looked old man flabby. He was caught up in the limelight. I thought he was gonna win it but I sure as hell am happy he did not. Lesnar brings alot more excitement to the division.

yes of course props to brock he just may be a bad mutha ****er, but now that he has beatin randy all the noobs will be saying that he can beat fedor. and i dont wanna be hearing that

Ok. I'll be the first noob that says Lesnar has a chance against Fedor.

He would get subbed in under a minute if he took it to the ground and has zero chance of standing with him.

Couture has zero sub game while Fedor has an affinity for ripping a person's arm off...

It's his third fight man... Give him a break.

I'm still :toofunny: about the guy in here that said the UFC is relatively "clean"... What a joke.

I think some people have naturally large jaws. If you see my jaw you'll think that I took GH too but I've never taken them. It's been like that since I was born. My jaw line is 90 degrees parallel to the ground. I would actually bet you anything that my jaw is as large as Gabriel Gonzaga's hehehehe.

For sure. Hong Man Choi is twice Brock's size. Fedor looked like a midget fighting him lol. But then again Hong Man Choi has no skills at all.

But in any case, there's no way Brock's gonna win over Fedor. Simply impossible. Randy Couture will have a better chance.

That is, unless, Brock delivers a perfect power shot to Fedor's chin like he did to Couture. But I don't think Fedor's chin is like Randy's (Randy's too old...)

To Gixxer: I dunno...Brock looked kinda worried after the first round...(Worried about his cardio and the cut maybe?)

Fedor would not submit Lesnar in under a minute if the fight was taken to the ground. Besides the fact that Lesnar is a D1 wrestling champ, hes also a massive human being that is difficult to control and maneuver. I realize Fedor has fought some big guys, but no one like Lesnar.

Couture wasn't even a challenge for Lesnar. Lesnar wasn't intimidated in the least bit, pretty much let Couture get a punch in just to exchange punches knowing his are hurting Couture way more than hes getting hurt.[/QUOTE

fedor beating brock in the first min is a little overly keen but theres no chance in hell brock can beat fedor maybe in a few years when brocks better but at this very moment NO WAY

I don't think anyone is saying at this moment.

You can't count a 265 pound gifted athlete out of any fight. There are probably some linebackers in the NFL that would have a chance against Fedor. I'd say Ray Lewis beats him a couple times out of 100...

oh of course anyone can win but if u match skill for skill fedor is the better man

you missed the point. Look at couture at the start of his career. look at him now. HUGE difference. That kind of widening at his age ONLY happens with GH use.

I understand some have wide jaws but Stalone is another prime example... look at some rocky1 photos and then at his latest rambo flick photos.. HUGE widening of the jaw. He although has admitted his use.

Fedor is a moot point and Lesnar doesn't deserve to fight him in my opinion. I think given the fact that Lesnar could not finish Heath Herring, and given the fact that Couture was able to get away from Lesnar off the ground shows that he is very beatable. I think Lesnar seemed tired and could be beaten by one of the bigger heavyweights.

Randy was the underdog, at least on betting lines. Like I said, until he got caught, he was doing just fine. Pressing the action, even. Lesnar had the dominant position several times and Randy kept gettting up. Everybody gets caught from time to time. Not to mention, Lesnar looked real nervous when he got cut.

ya not something that happens much in collegiate wrestling or even in the WWE without some fake packs of blood... you see him wipe it and look at it?:jaw:

Just one of the things hes got to get used to though in this sport. I still think hes beatable now BUT in a year or two he'll be a huge for to reckon with and if he stays longer then that then he might even get some HOF status. Guys got more then just potential.

No doubt, Poop. He's gonna be even more of a MONSTER in 2-5 years time. But I really do think he was hurt and nervous. He couldn't keep Randy down, a few times he couldn't take Randy down, he wasn't man-handling him and he even got reversed. With his lack of experience in this arena, I think he was a bit more than concerned.

The card wasnt bad , but the next card is freaking great. I also dont know if anybody else heard it, but if you noticed the announcer might have spilled the beans on the next great fight when they put the camera on BJ when florian won. I dont think florian will be getting his title shot too soon. I can not wait for that to happen.

i think that was a good showing for brock, i think couture came in and gave it his best but lesnar was too much for him. brock's inexperience in the octagon showed but also you can see he has a ton of potential as he fights more. Gonzaga and Lesnar would be a good fight imo although gonzaga probably has to earn his shot again. sure he was checking out the cut but i think he was so determined he wouldnt let anything stop him. Good fight Brock! made me 5$ richer!!! lol.

Oh Yeah I Knew It!!! Ko Round 2!!!!!

SomewhatGifted owes me some BCAAs WOOOTTTTTTT

Yeah buddy, nothin but props are due because you called it down to the round and method of destruction. FLo-bot pwned my bcaa's tonight.

Did randy undergo chemo or contract aids prior to this fight, flabby, flat and looking tiny for 220. 6'2 to 6'3" my ass, lesnar had atleast 3" on him!

Im not referencing him compared to lesnar but in general, against gonzaga he was full thick and tourqy, oh well hes 45, lol.

I think it is hilarious, now that Brock won, many are looking for a reason "oh, Randy is too old, or he looks out of shape". Keep in mind Brock has had 4 mma fights. I agree, right now, guys like Nog would sub him quickly, however, in another year or 2 of serious work, with his athleticism, watch out. Keep in mind, that now Brock will be the face of the UFC

i agree reaper, alot of people are trying to say this and that about him or about randy. he won fair and square, he fought a really good fight. I think he would be Nog too i think he can beat alot of guys at heavyweight. If he fought a dumb fight randy would have capitalized but he was neutralizing everything randy had to offer.

he fought a relatively smart fight, and is immensly talented. However, he has a lot of room to improve which is downright scary considering he is champ now. In a few years, watch out.

I know he will face Nog and most likely lose, as he wont stop nog on the ground, unless the ref jumps in. However I want to see him fight Mir again to avenge that loss

Did you see how quickly it stopped bleeding? I thought he was going to be a gusher like some of the other guys, i guess all those razor cuts in the WWE helped for something.

I think the fight went well in a few aspects. I expected Brock to win and he did, which got me pumped up, but Randy didn't go out like a punk and he deserves a respectful exit. During the second round I was starting to project a Randy victory because Brock was looking gassed and as somebody mentioned, Brock was not man-handling Randy as I thought he would. I saw Randy catching Brock or wearing him down in my head, so it was a nice surprise when Brock knocked Randy out.

7'2", 352lbs.

Brock's most glaring weakness is sub-defense. As somebody else mentioned, Randy has no subs, while Fedor is very adept in that area. I actually see a Fedor v Lesnar fight playing out similar to the one I posted here: Fedor pulling guard, waiting for Lesnar to take liberties with his G n' P, and landing a quick kimura/armbar.

well looks like im gonna be watching more of the WEC,hahaha lesnar won what the heck, but thats alirght NOG will uck him up

I disagree that Brock had nothing for Randy. I gave the first round to Brock; he had an effective takedown, and controlled Randy while on the ground. The second was closer, but I still had Brock winning that round.

huh??? I coulda sworn they straight up showed all the main fights for the next card

wasnt it mir v nog, griffin v rashad, Rampage v Silva(axemurderer)

I want to see lesnar fight Shane Carwin. Carwin is taller than lesnar and also cuts to make 265. He was also an all american wrestler. None of his mma fights have lasted a round. Would at lease be interesting to see lesnar fight someone his own size.

I was/am sad for Randy. Anyone talking about his age is wrong. Randy looked VERY VERY good last night. He actually controlled Lesnar against the cage the majority of the fight.

Lesnar won the first round with the take down, but Randy did a very good job of avoiding damage. In the second round, Randy was starting to land jabs and straight punches. He was moving well, and he almost took Lesnar down had Lesnar NOT GRABBED THE ****ING FENCE!

Regardless though, Randy had to survive at least another round before he could take over the fight. Lesnar is a beast man, he isn't just a big man he is a very athletically gifted big man. I wish he didn't win, but now I hope he becomes a champion of the people and not a WWE cockmasterfaggot champ.

I'm depressed. :(

After seeing this fight though, it's apparent how much a division is needed between 205 and 265, lol.

they have super heavyweight at 265+. I dont think they should lower that to say 250. Hell the best HW in the world is around 230 (Fedor) and there is no one bigger or smaller at HW that can beat him right now IMO

This.

I have no interest in watching freak-show matches. Weight classes exist for a reason: to promote sporting competition. All other weight divisions have about a 9-10% weight spread yet heavyweight has around 25%. Talk about inconsistency.
