no you are not, it's a way too generalised comment.

i've seen more idiots in the gym than one's who know what the hell they are doing.

smart lifters are few and far between IMHO

The continuing existance of brands like muscle tech would suggest otherwise.

Just because you lift doesn't make you a lifter.

People who lift are stupid in general. Lifters (BB and PL) are generally not.

People who lift buy muscle tech. Lifters buy chicken and whey.

There are exceptions to every rule though.

This is a good distinction but we all get lumped into the same category. People who say "I lift" are a lot different than people who say "I train".

What is the definition of "bodybuilder"?

What determines a "bodybuilder"?

Does one have to compete to be a "bodybuilder"?

Most people i know that refer to themselves as a "bodybuilder" are twats especially the ones that talk about their bodybuilding career's and don't even compete let alone make a living out of it!

I'd be too embarrassed to refer to myself AS a bodybuilder. I tell people I'm "into bodybuilding". It doesn't sound quite so conceited.

1. I would say it's an individual that uses specific, dynamic training routines, dieting and supplementation (legal or not) in order to build muscle structure that seeks to achieve a combination of size, aesthetics and symmetry.

2. I think that's a loaded question that's more determined by the person. Me personally I don't consider guys that have the capability to train legs but don't, bodybuilders.

3. I think you have to compete to be a competitive bodybuilder, some guys just don't want to step on a stage, they do it for personal reasons, not to be critiqued by a panel of judges. Then again I do believe that a bodybuilder should at some point try to hit 3, 4 percent, see how it feels, what it takes.

About the whole bodybuilder and being a genius thing, it depends on the person. When I got into bodybuilding I started to read up more on nutrition and training because I needed to know, it was pertinent information. It's a gradual fixation on the idea that the more you know the further you can go, which in some cases is valid. Again, it's a big variable.

This says a lot

They tell me I have that Attention Deficit Dis,.... can I touch that???

Yeah it is the symbol for Animal. While I'm not opposed to supporting an organization with tattoo, it's sad that someone with no results, negative results even to get one.
