The only supplements scientifically proven to work:
Protein: for convenice purposes (if meal cannot be readily
consumed)
Creatine: proven with no side affects
Caffine: stimulates nueromuscular communication
As well as causing water retention and in some this water retention can cause an elevation in BP.all due respect but creatine does have sides.
creatine can cause stomach bloat and gastrointestinal disturbances (excessive farting and liquid sh*t)
This thread looked like a good place for me to post this.
I am new to this forum and must say so far it seems great. I have been to other bodybuilding/supp sites and was not impressed, as of now I think I’ll stick around.
On that note, how do you guys seem to memorize and retain what does what, what side effects it has, etc.
There is no other site that is as powerful a resource as AM...Plain and simple!
to be honest i dont think it has anything to do with being lazy or wanting a shortcut.... mabey a lack of self worth... when most ppl start off here they are kinda overwelmed with info. they dont think they can be as smart, or possibly take in as much knowledge as ppl with high reps here, who have years of experiance.... they think "there is no way i can learn the ins and outs of this sport... ill just ask someone to help me!... the same concept applys to customers who walk into gnc... they dont know what the hell is in the formula label, they think it is beyond their comprehension, so they ask the helpfull "know it all" employee for guidance...i will admite though sometimes a good kick in the as* is the best advice someone can give.. when i started on this website i will admit, i got my as* kicked... but that sparked a thirst for knowledge i have never felt before... I now have an urge for all types of knowledge, including the desire to go back to school! being a complete as*hole to someone who is asking a question is not the way to go.. but a gentle :gotsearch never hurt anyone..
While any reasonable person would agree that the smart consumer researches ingredients before buying products that contain them, I think people often go too far with the "serves'em right" rants. Sure, caveat emptor and all that, but faulting the customer for believing that products sold on reputable websites do what they say they will just fosters an environment in which the companies themselves get a free pass for their dishonest marketing. Why shouldn't we expect companies to cite valid research, or even to conduct their own? Consumers need to be smart because there are a lot of wolves out there, but, at the same time, supplement websites should do their part in denying products packaged with outrageous claims a place in their inventory.
in my opinion it takes dedication to actually learn about what supplements to take...
i disagree... knowledge is endless.. as long as your interested, there is always a way to "learn" more
Sure, money is money, capitalism is capitalism, and it's nice to believe that the free market polices itself. To some extent, this is true: simply by contributing to and reading discussions on forums such as this one, which invites people to post published or unpublished research and exchange anecdotes about different ingredients, we are proving that the market does in fact police itself. Interested in liquid creatine? A quick search will tell you why you shouldn't be. Interested in ecdysterones? This site will tell you it's only worth it if you can afford ten bottles a month. On the other hand, the market can certainly police itself even more without everybody growing great big Victorian beards and giving each other Marxist salutes. I'd like to see these websites, already powerful sources of information to help the young and uninformed consumer, simply not stock products from companies that misinform the public by linking their claims to studies that recommend three times the actives the product provides or whose results have been superseded by numerous, more recent studies. Then again, I dream big.
While there is that old adage, the more you learn, the less you know... Learning is only as good as the knowledge that's out there.
i understand what u are saying 110%, but there is a difference between researching and actually doing research. a lab student compared to a scientist.....
that is such a hard quote to respond to
Many are content simply to discuss the ideas without actually doin' the necessary work.
if it is weeee protein, I mean conceivably it could be wee weeSir - Can you please direct me to the "wheeeeeeeeeeee" protein?
LOL!![]()
therefore never becoming "scientists" lol....i feel ya.
soo when someone does acually put in the necessary work, do you considered that to be increasing knowledge?
ya... i used the word "scientist" refering to someone who applys their knowledge learned, into practice.
Heh... I just pick U-Rep's brain... It's faster... (Just kidding...):icon_lol:Gotcha. Knowledge is power. Knowledge is about power. Knowledge has power implications built into it.

Ah... But I still have much to learn from you, in regards to the art of misdirection...:thumbsup:Brother, you picked it clean a while ago. Wasn't much there to begin with.
