TimberLakers' H-Drol Beatdown

I understand this... I just never heard it coined as periodization before. From what I've read from the first time I heard it to now, it sounds like exactly what fighters are doing from training camp up until a fight.

I just fail to see how a vocabulary word precludes me from not understanding how to train myself...

OK well I don't box so I'm not familiar with training camps ext but I did go to State in varsity Wrestling in high school and I did alot of weight/strength training back then and I was never really familiar with periodization cycling or progressive overload, TUT, bla, bla, bal ect.... Untill I started reading up on them/started BBing what have you.
And I didn't say you didn't know who to train, I said: you needed a basic understanding of "BBing" concepts, but if you already know everything than I apologize cause I learn new sht every day personally....

I still have no desire to "bodybuild"...

Of course I learn more every day - that's why I'm here, but to say I'm wasting money on my gym membership and a DS cycle because of a lack of knowledge is a pretty huge slight. Anyway, I'm over it.

And the gym membership is 120.

Well I didn't mean to offend you lil brother I can assure you that! Sometimes it's easy to have a misunderstanding online because you can't judge a person's true intent because you have little to go off of, no tone, no facial expression ect. so I think that's all it was.
I know you know how to train and that you are probably VERY good at what you do. As am I (I think lol). You didn't waste your $$ on all your sht here either but as I'm sure you know knowledge is power bla, bla, bla after school special, don't smoke crack kids:thumbsup:

He lives in Manhattan. A bottle of water there costs 6 bucks. I bet 120 a month is a steal around there. Timber is a baller anyway.

Timber - don't let these guys push your psyche around lol. I would honestly say, that if you are making serious gains, to stick with what works for ya. The bigger picture is, is that you have to change up your plan of attack every few months to keep from plateauing. I would check out DC training if I were you, but honestly I would also keep track of how you are progressing with your own style of workouts. Then when you try something new you can compare, and see which worked better in which areas. Then you'll know which you can come back to for what purpose. Like I said on my post, if you follow blindly you might end up somewhere, but it's likely you won't know how you got there. DC works very well especially for strength gains. Volume works better for size gains FOR ME IMO. I am probably going to get like 15 and a half responses to this saying how much better DC is for everything in life from training to banging BS's mom, but from what I have found, volume can do wonders for me, it is just maintaining that balance between shocking your muscles with the extra workload and over-training. In the end, if you approach your training with knowledge and a game plan, you will more than likely make great gains... just figure out what you are up to before you start.

KEEP ON JUICIN'!! ha ha I can't wait until my next cycle. I'm going to gulp down handfuls of fukkin' gear!! YEAH!!:aargh:

Hey Timber---You're going to get numerous suggestions on training from everybody. We all train differently, so you just have to experiment with different routines every couple of months until you find the ones that work best for you. Some people respond to more volume, others respond to less volume. It's all about personal experimentation......no, not that kind!! lol Keep training hard bro. You're making great progress IMO!!

Keep reading about this DC everyone's doing and it's really piquing my interest. Thinking about maybe reading up on it and incorporating it to my PCT month.

I would wit atleast a couple weeks into PCT before starting DC.All part of DC is to "blast" for 6-8 weeks, then "cruise" for 2.Blasting is what you see in mine and bassgods thread.Cruising is just that.Taking it easy and not going all out.Maybe use a bit lighter weight and stop just short of failure. The point of this is to recover from the strain DC will put on you.So do not go right into DC when PCT starts. You most liekly wont recover from the workouts.

Response #1!!!!!!DC is a bodybuilding program. It is great for increasing strength, thats for sure. But the point of that is muscle growth.Instead of changing every last damn variable you can possibly imagine for increased growth, you just use heavier weight with proper form to grow.I figured I'd just adress the fact that DC is a bb'ing program. Most DC followers ar pretty damn big.....Including Dante, the creator himself.

I know it works. It works well, and I am leaning towards trying it out for myself here once PCT is over. I think it will be a good change. My point is, is it isn't the only way to get big.

Well you should enjoy it man! It's def not the only way to grow, and it's not the best way for all either.I was just stating the fact that it is a bb'ing program cause you mentioned how it's great for strength. So I can see how one could assume it's a powerlifting/strength training program with muscle gains thrown aside based on your comment thrown in with your other comments.........

Have you planned on going higher and/or longer with your cycle?I know you went to 40 or 50 already right?Or no?

I know this workout doesn't look particularly good for the legs... but a short explaination.. 225 is the most I've ever attempted to squat, and I was pissed that I could only hit 3, so I dropped down to 185 instead of 135 immediately to blow out the legs... Hit 10 of them here, which is a lot - I've never done 25 reps at 185 in two sets - so the legs were destroyed.

I really wanted to incorporate leg press, but I just didn't have the muscle endurance to hit it like I wanted to - which I think is a good thing. I had a hard time getting up the stairs, which is pretty *ucking nasty.

Got my 3rd bottle of H from NP today - along with 6 pounds of ON whey (ex milk choc), and another huge container of Lemon XTend. Has anyone tried ON Choc Mint or Cookies N Cream? I'd like to switch it up, but not worth it if I hate it. (I don't like ON Vanilla at ALL)...

Oh, and on the bicep workouts, I have NEVER seen my power vein that gnarly before. It ran from my shoulder, down my bicep, to my wrist - clear as day... I liked that enough that I may build a full arm day into my split.

Also - having some trouble with the wrist straps from shoulder and back day... The straps are destroying my wrists, just like BS (or Pantera?) were complaining about. Might need to go without straps for back and shoulders and just make due, because having my wrists in pain is hurting my arm and chest workouts... not using straps will hurt my back and shoulder workouts... Damned either way.

Dude your front sq's are something to be proud of!As long as you go to atleast paralell ofcourse ;)I failed on 20 with mine at 135,and got those crazy @$$ headaches from it.I'm willing to bet I have some size on my legs compared to yours too.Even though you're taller than me.And the chocolate mint isn't bad.I just go with the double rich chocolate or whatever it's called though. My last 2 tubs have been 5lb dymatize elite whey.Thats the best deal at NP right now.Besides the 10lb scivation whey anyways.........

Wow, yeah, Dymatize is a good deal. 5 less. Just sucks without hearing peoples opinion. Nothing worse than having a sh*tty tasting 5 pounds of whey you gotta plow through.

I'm finishing cafe mocha right now,and it's not bad at all.I don't realy like coffee though,so I wont buy it again.I looked into elite whey and got good reviews for it before I bought it.It's supposivley very similar to ON,with more digestive enzymes I believe. Some said it's just like ON,others said it was better.I'll let ya'll know when I bust out the chocolate.

Just watch your BP man.Mine is trying to get up there, but it fluctuates.I haven't been doing cardio regularly either, but I will now cause work is slow this week.Cardio is lika the magic pill for BP to me.I swear just one short moderate session seems to bring it down for days.

My PCT will be nolva, and DTHC.I will also use some leftover RPM that has icariin in it,and some p slin and anabolic pump.I use creatine yr round.I wouldn't of bought the rpm,AP,and p slin for PCT,I justy already have them in my cupboard. If not I would only use nolva and DTHC.I also some left over retsore that I'm going to use at low dose after nolva as it controls estrogen.

IVe ran it upwords i beleive it was 7-8 weeks and as high as 90mgs. Call me crazy, i like to push the limits. The higher i went the better it got. I was using Havoc as well btw.

You still dosing the nolva at 40/40/20/20?

Decided I'm going to do my shoulder workout today or tomorrow without straps at all, or maybe just for one or two heavy sets... Need to shake the wrist pain... Feeling pretty amped today so far - going to get the BP checked shortly.

Sweet Jeezuz - 20 pages. Any summary report thus far for those of us you have ADHD & can't read back that far? :)

Well... 2.5 weeks in. Started at 174, weighed in this morning at 183. Pretty sizeable increases in all lifts - esp. squats and chest exercises. Start up pictures are on page 7 or 5... forget which.

This thing needs a table of contents...fun read though, the 10lb plate to the back of the head was hilarious!!!

You could wrap your wrists with athletic tape before you put your wrist straps on to use 'em. The tape would cushion the straps. Or if you have some old sweatbands for wrists, they would cushion 'em even better. Just some ideas to choose from.:lol:

I think he already does.I personally never have problems with my wrist from the lifting straps.

Me neither. But I do wear wrist support wraps underneath mine when I do wear 'em. It does cushion the strain on my wrists. Where there's a will....there's a way!!:head:

Get some!!! Hell yeah doggy, rippin this cycle up. Keep going at this rate and you'll need a new wardrobe

TG - I do use coach tape - but your sweat band idea is really good. Perhaps I'll take one split off then try that.

Its not so much the pressure of the straps, its the squeezing pulls my wrist joint out and makes it HURT the next few days.
