Papapumpsd's IGF-1lr3 LOG w/Photos

Well, as my "Day 13" post above stated, I weighed in at 189.5lbs today. That's up 1.5lbs. from 2 days ago. So far, I'm up 10.5lbs since the start.

This averages out to be ~0.81lbs/day in weight gain. So far, so good I suppose. I will say I personally don't look like I've changed much at all for that 10.5lbs, but that's just my opinion on my fugly self.
 
10.5 lbs with no AAS is impressive.

Thanks man. Ya, everytime I get on the scale, it's 1-2 lbs heavier. I'll be stoked if I hit 190 on Friday (just 0.5lbs more!). How precious would it be if I could continue with +0.8lbs/day gain til the end? :) Yup, that's the optimist in me talking!

Regarding current nutrition, here's what's on today's menu. I haven't posted what I eat really, so in case anyone was interested, here it is (it always changes, but the protein and carbs are high, with fats low-moderate).

breakfast (7:00am): Protein shake made from ON's Gold Standard whey + 1/2 serving Cytogainer (~60g protein, ~50g carbs, ~6g fat); I wasn't hungry this morning, but I slammed this shake anyways.

Snack (~9:30am): Protein shake (ON gold std whey + 1/2 C ground whole Oatmeal) (~50g protein, ~40g carbs). I forgot to go grocery shopping so I ran out of turkey/chicken (I forgot to thaw some too!).

Edit:Snack (11:30): Nature Valley Oats 'N Honey granola bar: 180cals, 6g fat, 29g carbs, 4g protein.

Lunch (12:00): Grilled chicken and cesar salad (from the deli I plan on hitting up). I will also get a banana or 2 in there as well for carbs and the potassium.

2-2:30: Not sure yet (maybe the same deal as my 9:30am shake) + a mix of green beans and yellow beams/lima beans

5:00 til 10:00pm: I will eat ~5pm, 7:30pm, 10:00pm yet. I don't know what it'll be. I will probably make up chicken and/or turkey and have more oatmeal. I might make up some whole wheat pasta too tonight.

Total protein: ~275g
Total carb: ~300g
Total fat: 50g ?? I a handful of peanuts in the evening along with flax/fish oil caps AM & PM (~16g total ED).
TOTAL CALS: ~2,750. Ya, it doesn't seem like a lot, but it seems to work for me. I'm also not a 250lb. dude. And there are days when I eat more, of course. Today just sucks because I ran out of food and have to rely on shakes! :D

ok, so one can't really speculate your increase in wgt is due to IGF. I'm sure it helps, but from going from a low carb diet to a mod/ high carb diet, gains come fairly quick ~ similar to gains made during post contest rebound. I'm sure the IGF is helping with glycogen uptake.

Can't wait to start my research though. It' going to be interesting.

Unoigo, you are very correct. Because I was most likely glycogen depleted, the starting weight was suppressed. But by 10.5lbs? Doubtful.

Furthermore, since I have not done definitive blood tests to detect various IGF-1-related growth markers, one cannot claim gains are due to IGF-1 itself. This is a real-world study of a subject being administered lr3IGF-1.

NOW, that being said, you should know my standard weight when NOT cutting is around low 180s-185. I am ~5-7lbs. over that weight on Day 13. There are ~15 more days in the study. Time, #s, and photos will hopefully provide greater insight into the ability of IGF-1lr3 to produce muscle mass gains and/or fat loss (non-quantitatively).

Ok, today's off to a cruddy start! I forgot my lunch cooler at home, so I only have trail mix here at work! I will head over to the grocery store and make a gigantic chicken salad at the salad bar and pick up some low GI carbs (oatmeal or something). If there's a nutrition store around here, I'll pick up some protein bars/powder or something.

I did pick up a gallon jug of H2O on my way to work as I'm out of gallon jugs at home. I gotta stop slackin' on this grocery shopping! Damn women....sucking up my time. heh.

I will comment tonight on my workout (doing legs/calves tonight) and my new weight. I'm shooting for 190lbs, but with my "junk" diet, I'm not sure what to expect.

Note: I have not commented on libido. In case anyone is reading and wondering, my libido has not changed. I am still a menace to society. :lol:


EDIT: I hit the salad bar...now I have a huge chicken salad (loaded w/chicken) and I grabbed a box of low sugar oatmeal packets. I'm feeling better about my cals for the day now! WA-WHOOO.

Yea that work'd.... and no it wasn't her. Her profile thing on youtube says she's only 19. Thats how old the girl was when I was with her....now I think she'd be 23 or 24. They sure as hell act the same and I could see this girl doing something like that. O'well it was a crazy few months :lol:

Also with the bigger screen I can get a better look at her face and not the same....they could be cousins or something maybe even sisters....but it's not her.......haha good vid though...keep em coming ;)

Day 15: Legs/Calves

Well, I weighed in at 191lbs. Up 12lbs so far. I still have ~ 11 days to go. Not too shabby. I'm liking this continual increase in weight. :)

Day 16: OFF (Cardio - powerwalking)
Well it's a decent day out, so I'm going to do cardio. I'll powerwalk for an hour or so. I will have a protein shake before I take off.
 
Day 17

Weight was only 186.5lbs today...WEEEEIRRRDD. I attribute this to weak water intake and cruddy diet for the last couple days. I will be hammering carbs & protein today. I am behind on that though already (just the protein). Ugh. Guzzling water as well.

dont worry to much on it, the main thing will be your overall LBM gain at the end of the cycle and that will be a just a fraction of what it could lead to as the new muscle cells mature. get some new photos up for the boys to scrutinize.

this will be my last post for a few days or longer depending on how close the nearest net cafe is to my hotel. leaving for the airport in just under 3 hours.

bros, I'm think I'm going to bump down my carbs on off days. Instead of the ~300g carbs, I'll bump down to 200g. I think I'm getting too much on off days. Why do I say this? I seem to not be losing any fat. I would like to drop some fat for aesthetic reasons. IMO I don't think cutting a few carbs from my off days will hinder any muscle gains.

OR, should I maintain my carbs, but increase cardio?

Anyone care to comment?

dH2O, I totally agree.....I'd like to keep the cals and nutrients up, but at the same time keep my cardio going. I'm thinking cardio is the better choice. :)
 
Day 18: 06/16/2008 OFF; cardio: power-walking ~45-69min.

Ya, nothing special this day. I got cardio in, so that was nice.

And DAMN, does this Beta-Alanine get me burnin'! Mad tingles and it feels like my face was shoved onto a porcupine after a sunburn. ARGH, dammit! It stops after a few mins. tho. Interesting.


Day 19: 06/17/2008: Back/Traps/Delts

I weighed in at 189lbs today. My workout was ok, but hindered due to my jacked up forearm. I couldn't do too much on bent over BB rows (one set of 8 x 225lbs) as it really stresses my forearms. Arrgh.

NOTE: I am NOT doing chest/abs today as my triceps are still sore from previous workout. And my right forearm still has a very sore area (actually very sore to even rub it a bit...$hit is raw demmit)
 
papa, it's great reading this log and you've been a big help to me. What do you attribute your weight gain to primarilly? Do you think it's the IGF, eating big and lifting hard, a comp of the 2?

Also, are you taking anything else (not counting supps like fish oil, creatine, etc) besides IGF?
 
Also, are you still dosing at 40mcg bilaterally EOD?

Welcome Newbie! Gains are most likely attributed to the "peptide" and eating a much larger number of carbs pre-IGF. I will hopefully post photos at the end (I borrowed my digicam to a buddy, so I need to get it back!) . That way you can make your own judgements on how well it worked in the short-term. BUT, considering it's a longer-term substance, time will tell good sir.

I am not taking any other supps besides those I list in the log. I will prob. do Epistane next though (still debating as I don't like the myriad of supps needed for PCT). I'm really interested in other peptides and may not do IGF-1 again (again, still contemplating.....weighing the gains vs. risks yet). :D

Ok, well today's diet is nearly all liquid. Yep...I didin't have any turkey or chicken cooked up. Ugh...so I'm stuck with whey protein shakes w/coffee-grinder ground raw oatmeal. I had that for breakfast and for each meal throughout the day. Then I'll have a PWO mass shake. I brought an apple though! YAY! I'll post tonight's weight after I hit the gym (Chest/abs tonight).
 
keep it going man, log looks great and good progress, I wouldn't cut carbs on lr3 days as one of the main short term benefits are its nutrient shuttling capabilities (insulin-like properties), maybe off days you could cut carbs, this would have you in a somewhat of a carb cycling diet strategy, but I am unsure of whether or not the duration of carb up/carb down would allow for the diet benefits. However, the idea of purely lower calories and less carbs overall on off days should help aid in decreasing bodyfat, if you are worried about it. Either way, everything looks good!

Thanks dood! I have decided to keep the carbs up but just incorporate more frequent cardio sessions. I have a feeling my weight will be down a bit tonight. I'll let you all know soon though.

I feel like I'm kind of fat (like in my original photos)....def. not leaning out (at least I don't see it). Just commenting here. I wish I could post new photos for you all, but my camera's at a bro's house. Darn it. I'd use my cellphone, but not sure how to get the photos to my PC....Hmmm.
 
Day 21: 06/19/08 (Thurs.)

Weighed in at 190.5lbs, so I'm up 11.5lbs since Day 1. I am doing more frequent cardio sessions (mostly fast-paced walking, sometimes I'll throw in some jogging to boost heart rate for a while).

My chest/ab workout today went well. I'm slowly increasing the weight. I'm not a heavy lifter, so I don't usually work with a lot of weight at all. I'm still lifting conservatively so my elbows heal all the way. They're feeling great so far. I only benched up to 275 for a couple sets, then ended w/225 x 12. Then did seated Hammer Strength chest press, then inclined DB flies, then cable flies. Abs are so as is chest today (as expected).

Day 23: 06/21/2008 Legs/Calves; cardio: 45min. power-walking/jogging.
Start Weight (lbs.): 179
Current Weight (lbs.): 193 (Used different scale, but still zeroed it; it's the manual physician-office type at the gym here)
Gain/Loss (lbs.): +14

Well, 193lbs today....up 14lbs since start. Feeling good.....workout felt strong today (above average). My food intake hasn't been anything fantastic....couple protein shakes, ~55g carbs from oatmeal, ~5 Oreo cookies in the AM (yummm), then my PWO shake. I'll be eating up more this evening no doubt.

I did do ~45min. power-walking/jogging combo this afternoon. That and my water intake hasn't been as high as it usually is during the work week. Interestingly, my bodyweight continues to increase.
 
Day 24: 06/22/2008 OFF; cardio: None

OMG are my legs and glutes DESTROYED! I can barely walk or get up once I'm down. I hate this crap. Damn SQUATS! I'm pounding water like crazy before bed and also having a ~60g protein shake w/fiber (to slow it down). I need to heal up if I'm going to lift on Mon. Depending on how sore I am, I may or may not workout on Mon. I'm in horrible shape right now tho....sickeningly sore.
 
damm dude i feel bad for you man. its like everytime you workout ur as sore as i would be if i had just workd out with a year long break..lol.

do you feel so far it has been worth it(money,injecting,potential sides)??

The money isn't an issue.
Injecting isn't an issue.
potential sides....I haven't noticed any cancerous effects or other adverse effects.....that I'm aware of. The soreness I experience is normal for me....happens w/o chems.

I will say that so far I haven't noticed much aesthetically. Then again, I'm not in it for quick gains. Time will tell. I know our nature is to expect great things in little time, but not in this case. Patience is a virtue. Hope this helps.

While I do get sore easily, I don't usually get this debilitating soreness unless I do deep, heavier squats, or other exercises that really result in stretching. I have noticed this. But, I do get sore in the bicep & forearm from throwing a couple of games of darts. So, there is def. something jacked up w/me.

Yeah, MGF REALLY increases DOMS for me. Not debilitating, but it is definitely increased. Sometimes I don't mind the soreness, but walking around like a crippled old man sucks sometimes.

Taking another day OFF. My legs, glutes, and lower back are absolutely demolished. Can barely walk. F*#K!!!

Well, my legs are still extremely sore. Walking is still a challenge, but somewhat better than yesterday. I will hit the gym tonight and do a mellow bicep/tricep workout. I leave for a trip Friday night, so my IGF-1 stops Thurs. That will be THE END for this round.

I will get my weight at the gym tonight. I will also try to take some updated photos. I got my POS webcam working.....I haven't used it in eons and had to find the drivers for it. So, I'll try to post a bunch of new photos...hopefully tonight or def. at the end (Thurs.).

QUESTION: Do any of you workout when you're still sore? For example, if your legs are still sore, would you hit chest/abs that day? Or do you wait til you're not sore anymore?
 
i dont see the harm in doing another body part while the other is sore. but thats just my opinion. like today i did back but my legs were killing me, maybe some lifts more challenging but you got to get the days in...

Hey bros, I'm ending my IGF-1 study Thurs (final dose). I have a question for you all:

Q.) What should my post-cycle diet be like? I'm assuming I can decrease the carbs to <300g ED. I will also be keeping my protein high as I always do. I may increase fat intake since those calories will displace some of the carb cals. Advice?

FYI: Also, I will be starting Epistane in a couple of weeks. I just purchased a bottle and will do ~ a 4-weeker. I have Toremifene caps made up and I will also throw in Diesel Test Hardcore for PCT. I will prob. log this in the steroid section.
