When Sanchez says Mental, I think he means Psychological, attitude more than aptitude. For him it means staying intently focused and ferocious for the full fight, keeping his will up and imposing it on the other fighter. That fight was, IMO, a great example of differing effective psych styles, The Hot Sanchez and the Cool Fioravanti, staying loose and relaxed.
I haven't heard Dolloway's post fight interview, don't care to, did he maybe think he could pull off a subtle one tap release that was plausibly deniable? maybe the camera would'nt have a clean shot of it? Another Herb Dean too early stoppage? I can see that single slight tap being a premature reflex, but he should have realized and owned it right away, if that was the case. Who cares?
I was hoping Evan Tanner would show better, but it's clear he's like Ortiz and Hughes, the past generation of MMA champs that don't have the skills of the current crop, and all too old, they've lost too much athletically.
