CB is a total 1D fighter, he ain't sh!t. He's a puddin' pure and simple. I hope Amir catches he again, except this time he rips the arm in half.
 
Yeah, I have to say I don't know why I was so impressed with him earlier in the show. He has okay standup, I guess, and he's strong and controlling on the ground, but then again, so is Dante Rivera (aka the most boring fighter...ever). His submissions are lackluster and he's not that great. I hope Amir knocks his ass out in Matt Brown/Jeremy May style with a leg kick to the face.
 
I agree CB is stronger than the guys he has fought and when he shoots he usually gets it, but his standup is just lackluster in that he seems to just want to swing for the fences.

When Tim had CB covering up against the cage I thought that was a perfect opportunity for a heavy front kick, Tim Boetsch style. He was sucking wind by mid second round, I would have emptied those lungs out for him.

If I was Amir I would train knees, knees, knees, knees. That way when o'CB shoots he would need to find a BC. I would split his cranium wide open, I tell you this o' stupid ass would still talk **** even with his cranium busted wide ass open.

I am dead serious I think the front kick is not utilized enough in MMA, it is great for getting distance if your heavy handed, and just good to mix things up, or really good when you want to swell up that solar plexius.

I swear if I see another BJJ guy just freakin lay on his back and not up kicking, or as Forest was suggesting, kick the front of the knee and try and hyper extend dillweeds knee, I swear I am going to have a fit of rage!!

I think o' JT and CB should fight. I can see it now take down after take down...

I couldnt get over it that CB tried to play it that way. It was very apparent that he tapped to everyone with eyes. Good for Amir, he is fun to watch. I dont think he will be a great challenger at 185, but he has a great personality, and has some nice skills
 
I agree with you, Trip. In all honesty, Amir would be a better fighter/draw in a lighter weight class. 185 is going to break him the higher he gets. He is calm, and he is a great worker, but I feel dropping down would benefit him more.

I'm psyched Amir won. CB is a sore loser and I'm sure he planned to do the single tap if need be with an ensuing *****fest so he could make excuses as to why he lost to the same guy twice. I really didn't think Amir could pull it off a second time; I hope he's able to make a name for himself in the UFC now.

i might catch alot of heat on this one and im no CB fan at all but i feel he was gonna tap but stopped. I always thought tapping out was a 3 tap thing. I was thinking what is he doing stopping it the guy didnt tap 3 times but i guess everyone sees it different. IS there a set rule on that?

Their is no 3 tap rule. If the ref sees that you are trying to submit through hand tap or verbally he can stop the fight. Or if the ref sees you going unconscious or a limb breaking he can stop the fight without any sub on the fighters part, like with Sylvia/Mir. IMO it was a legit tap. I have to give CB props, that face he made after the tap made my night.

Unreal might be taking it a bit far, but he did look much better. The difference in intensity level between Diego and Luigi was crazy. Luigi is a calm mofo.

Unreal just meaning I don't think I ever saw him strike and those head kicks were on point, and the energy that dude has IS unreal. Luigi looked like he was ready for a nap or some ****..:lol:

what did you guys think about the Grove Tanner fight? Tanner looked like a rugged mofo with that kimbo beard....like they paid a homeless guy to get in there lol.
 
Say what you want about Sanchez, but I think the dude is gay. His stand up looked ok, his aggression was ok, but I can't stand him. Luigi should have had a better plan, his strategy made the frustrated homo look better...

I doubt he's gay, although I wouldn't be surprised. He is definitely a retard, but he's a damn good fighter. The sh*t Bonnar was saying to him on the first season of TUF was priceless.

Yeah, and that's against some good competition, plus he's never been finished. I'd like to see him fight Kos and Fitch again. I think he could do better. I doubt he'll ever be champ, but he is damn good.

u know, i thought almost all the fights were good. But, i also feel like they are setting up the winner b4 the show. I knew who was gonna win every match. On one side is the guy they are promoting and the other is like a guy being set up for a loss. and what was tanner doing in there? he looked like crap and was a shawdow of the guy ive seen fight b4.
 
I thought the card was pretty lackluster and I am really disappointed with Tanner's performance. Amir has a ton of potential and it helps that he is in a very thin division.
 
Did anyone else notice Luigi advertising for Island Supplements on the front of his trunks? I didn't even know they were still around after they got booted off AM.
 
I just finished watching the Finale, and thank god CB didn't win it, seriously.

Could Dana White at least try to hide a little that he had a favorite in the house? Seriously, CB gets beat (fair and square, both stand up and ground game) by Amir. Then JT beats Tim, and is supposedly going to the final, but "screws up" (i'm not sure how much I buy that yet...) and Dana puts them through another fight (if you ask me, Tim should just have gone straight up).

Then with the new fight they don't even show the entire thing?! WTH?! Seriously, conspiracy theory or not, but by the highlights I thought it was Tim's, but nope. So yeah, I pretty much think they didnt air that because it was obviously a quite controversial decision.

I'm just glad that Amir went out there and took him down again, the same way, sweet. Awsome season, looking forward Nogueira and Mir. Should be fun to watch Nogueira speaking english and getting through the fighters (not even disrespecting, I'm brazilian as well, but I think there will be a barrier / disadvantage there.)

Oh yeah, edit: BtW, HUGE props to Amir. By far the nicest guy on the show, humble, willing to learn, didn't talk trash, had 0 experience in MMA comming in, went out there and kicked ass. And the best part is that he "sucked" in a bunch of areas, so he has A LOT to learn. Wouldn't surprise me if he lands like Griffin and ends up with a tittle shot in the near future. I'm definetly cheering for him.

He does have ammy fights and is a BB in Sambo. He is not exactly a green fighter by any means, especially with his MT background.
 
DOes anyone think amir might cut to 170? he is a relatively small 185er. I hae a hard time seeing him being all that good at 185

When Joe was talking about how Sanchez says that the mental game is the most powerful part of MMA, I couldn't help but think that it's because Diego is as dumb as a pail of hammers. For the average guy, a one point gain in IQ is only 1 percent but for Diego it's a whopping 10 percent improvement.

Diego definitely seemed gay to me, but the dude is actually dating old blond ring girl, Ali Sonoma. I nearly offed myself when I heard. Anyway, Diego is damn good. His fight with Fitch was really close.

Tanner looks like he's being forced to do something he doesn't want to in there. He just doesn't look too motivated. He's still tougher than most guys...

Alex, your boy McFedries did well. Let's hope he climbs the latter again.
