that's how bad I was craving protein post workout today, I went to the grocery store across from the gym, and bought a 16 oz carton of all whites and just drank it. Got about 2/3 of the way through before the temp dropped and the taste started getting on my nerves. That's a first for me though.

My shakes almost always contain 1 cup egg whites, 1 scoop protein powder. Equals out too about 45grams of protein. Cant taste the egg, and the powder get's mixed in real good.

yeah I take in a lot of whey lately (2 50g shakes) and I'm noticing that anything over 20g of whey makes me look bloated and I feel
sluggish for a couple hours afterwards, I think I'm going to start doing the same as you and just start taking in more egg.

Same thing here, switchn to more eggs has made a HUGE difference for me. It just seems like a lighter meal, than all that powder by itself.

One thing to think about though is that egg whites cause a biotin, and i think magnesium deficiency. This may be just raw egg whites, not the pastuerized boxed ones, but maybe something to look into further. I take a multi-vitamin so i feel safe.

Does anyone else eat raw eggs ? I eat 6-7 raw eggs at a time.

I know people talk about salmonella, etc.. I've gotten it before. It's not that big of a deal.

I eat raw eggs almost every morning. One of the best bodybuilding foods there is.

Last I recall, there is no evidence citing raw eggs are any better than fried. At one time it was believed the protein was degraded, but I believe that was 'debunked'. Really no reason aside from convenience to eat them raw. That being said, they aren't that bad.

a case of salmonella can vary greatly in severity though, some people might just feel queasy for a day or so, others might be losing it from both ends at such a fast rate they need medical attention. Like any temperature sensitive food though, I think if you just keep them cold and don't let them get older than a couple weeks, you're generally fine.

yeah I'm just drinking them raw lately for pure convenience, but I figured it couldn't hurt the protein composition either.

You're right, I mainly said that because eggs in general are great, and raw are very convenient. I might be crazy, but I really seem to lean out and recover better when I include more egg in my diet (as opposed to protein shakes). I love my eggs.

yeah I agree. When I salmonella I just felt sick for a few days, then it was gone. Just like any other sickness. I actually got it from peanut butter, not eggs. This was over a year ago.

so the carton egg whites are good, right? cause i've just now purchased some for the first time ever! and i love them so far!

i've realized that i should be on the quest for good, raw nutrients. like raw almonds, egg whites, salmon, etc.

and i find these in the carton, safe to drink, and i think, yes! so they are great, right? i mean, they are essentially raw and not denatured?

I'll have to try some egg whites in my shake later on.

I'm actually making an omelette right now, which contains 2 whole eggs and a couple of egg whites. I had a small steak and 2 small pork chops when I got home from the gym. Tasty!

Are you saying egg whites only in a carton? Are you going to eat raw salmon?I just separated the whites from yolks and drank some for the first time. It's all right, but I'd only do it for convenience.

i don't understand what you're asking. yes, the one in the carton, the ones where there is no chance of catching some salmonella.

i do eat raw salmon when it's sashimi grade. i like finding raw proteins that are not denatured, and i was asking if someone knowledgeable could tell me if the protein is in fact untampered with.

Well I wasn't sure what you were saying. You said the carton egg whites are good right?I just purchased some for the first time.Thats making me think you are buying cartons of eggs with the whites only, which I have never heard of before.I just find it hard to believe that someone at your age, into bb'ing, just purchased eggs for the first time ever.So I'm thinking maybe they have egg whites only in a carton at stores.I don't think they do.I don't know if thats possible, but thats what it kinda looks like you said.So eggs in cartons don't have salmonella?I know people have drank raw eggs for a while now and I have had others ask if I do and tell me they do or have had before. The last guy is a son of profesional wrestlers. The vauhn eriks. However you spell it

Its possible for eggs to have salmonella period...matter the type.

If he's eating raw salmon, im not sure of the purpose because it's so much more efficient to cook it with a dash of olive oil. Personally, im not eating anything raw, period. I tried that once and ended up in the hospital weighing about 22lbs less after a week....nope!

23. Raw eggs can contain bacteria like salmonella, and mycotoxins/fungal toxins if the feed of the chickens contained mouldy corn, for example. The raw egg white contains avidin, a Biotin (one of the B vitamins) inhibitor. One Olympic Health Nut in England had 13 dozen raw eggs a week and managed to induce Biotin deficiency. He may be the only person on record as having achieved this, because it is very difficult to do. Biotin is contained in many foods, and to induce deficiency of it in animals is incredibly difficult, because so many foods contain it. (From memory the preceding two points were mentioned in A Diet of Tripe.) According to Edward Howell in his book Enzyme Nutrition, raw egg white also contains a decarboxylpeptidase inhibitor. It is my belief that the quantities of enzyme inhibitors in raw egg white are minimal, and not enough to disturb the balance of health of a person with a half-decent diet. On the contrary, I believe they may be an excellent source of raw protein, if ingested in small quantities on a regular basis. We are the only animal in nature that cooks eggs. You could try it cracked into warm porridge, a bowl of brown rice, stirred through a stir-fry on serving, blended into a smoothie, vegetable juice or salad dressing, or, if you can enjoy it, sucked or swallowed raw. If you choose to use these as a source, I recommend you crack the egg into a cup first, and smell it to ensure it is not off. This seems to be a superior test to the float method, as some eggs that sink in water can still smell off. Salmonella growth in eggs has been a concern to some health authorities, so the age of the egg since laying and it’s transport and storage conditions including termperature may be important to consider, as well as the overall health of the laying hens.

24. Raw animal tissue foods contain cathepsin, lipase, and other enzymes and nutrients which are not present in these foods once they are cooked. These enzymes result in autolysis (self-digestion) of the food, as its own enzymes digest it, making its nutrients more available. In all cases of raw animal foods, or animal foods in general, and particularly with brain tissue, it may be wise to ensure the health of the animals was excellent, and that no unnatural feeding habits or diseases were present. (e.g. Mad Cow Disease, BSE, TB) Transport and storage conditions including temperature may also need to be considered.

*raw proteins are numero uno for us. no animal on the planet cooks their food besides us. when we cook things, a lot of the nutrients get kicked out and the protein is prone to become waste.

I understand that; i've researched it since early 20's, but as I mentioned, I'll NEVER eat raw foods.
Especially meats, are u kidding?

So what your saying is that you'll digest (or attempt to, cause it will never digest) raw, bloody, chicken?

NO WAY! i've only been eating, as far as raws go, almonds and salmon. i just found the egg whites in the carton and am loving them as well. heck no am i eating a meat like chicken raw. it would slide right through you intact and slimy. salmon, on the other hand, is another story. it digests quickly.

So you are buying egg whites in a carton?Or are you just buying eggs and separating the whites?I have heard of the international egg whites where it comes in a bottle. You are making it sound as if you are buying eggs in shells without the yolk.

I still just eat the entire egg. Yolk and all. Try to eat 3 hardboiled per day. and maybe mix one raw egg in with a protein shake every other day.
