MMAJunkie is reporting that Rich Franklin was offered a fight against Dan Henderson at UFC 85. Franklin turned the fight down due to the fact that he just went through a hard training camp in preparation for his fight with Travis Lutter at UFC 83. It's now being reported that a Franklin/Henderson fight is expected to be announced later this year.

I'm kidding. I don't see Franklin winning this fight unless an unmotivated Hendo shows up, which I doubt.

FRranklin will outchin him  I think Hendo KO's him in the 2nd. Rich's only advantage may be the sub game and a less wild standup that will allow him to land a few more punches (of the less meaningful variety). Hendo will take them and dish out some of his own to KO him with a hook.

Good fight though. 1.5 years ago this was the match at 185 that the Pride-UFC cold war kept us from seeing.

I see Hendo by ko as well. I did think that Franklin might be moving up though?

I don't think Franklin stands much of a chance. Personally I'd rather see Anderson Silva and Hendo go at it again.

Hendo needs to get a solid win before he gets another shot. I am not detracting the guy, I am a huge fan of his (except for when he landed a left hook on a certain Brazilian).

Yeah they kind of killed his stock by throwing him up against the Rampage and Silva immediately.

Franklin might have a good shot, I've never really seen him in any good wars though. All I've seen is him totally dominating or getting dominated. How did he look against Okami?

He defended Okami's TDs and landed a few strikes in the 1st 2 rounds. Nothing too impressive. Then Okami woke up and started fighting and dominated the third. Not a great performance by either.

Yeah, I like it to. Best coaches, good fights, and not too much drama. Last nights fights were good. The second fight was great, tired dudes just slugging away. Matt Brown didn't look that great in his fight, but I was glad that he KO'd that idiot.

I agree with that too. Matt Brown didn't look real badass. I wonder if he does well, though, because they seem to be trying to hype him up. I didn't think he was all that special in his prelim fight either.

It didnt look like Brown won because he was the superior fighter in terms of skill and technique, the other guy was just more gassed then BJ Penn after a 50 yard dash.

Of course you could definitely argue that conditioning is part of being the suprior fighter, but you know what i mean. For someone who was predicted to win by "murder" Brown didn't look that impressive. He didn't dominate until the other guy quite.

I thought Brown looked great in the 1st fight to make the show. His standup was crisp and his guard work looked excellent. He was supposedly up against a very strong fighter.

I read in one of the blogs that everyone on Forrest's team looked flat b/c of overtraining. That might have had something to do with it, b/c he looked pretty vicious sparring with Forrest.

The second fight was amusing, though I do prefer a display of technique over all out brawl. Those guys could both take a shot. You gotta give them credit: they left everything in the cage. Zachrich might have won that if he hadn't gotten sucked into Cramer's game.

BTW, that guy Schultz is getting a bad rep for his loss, but he did very well locally. I think he fought at 205 and was fairly unbeatable until he fought up a class and took on a beast who weighs about 240. His grappling looked horrendous, but I think he's better than he appeared on the show.

Yeah you're right about Matt Brown's first fight. It was good. I was confsuing him with someone else since there were so many fights in that episode.

I might have done the same thing, DAMN THESE SUPPLEMENTS. I'm going through Recreate withdrawal.
