Official Metal of the Day

Big Danzig Fan here

I would love to post a ton of Danzig's stuff, but I realize this thread is devoted purely to metal and he's done everything from punk, (some really awful) goth-industrial, blues, hard rock, etc so I'll stick with some of the stuff he's done that might fall into the metal category, even though it's often not his best material.

Bringer of Death Danzig 4p '94 (good place to start)

I saw him on tour for this album, my wheelchair was dismantled by the crowd in the mosh pit. I had to be hauled out by security, and my chair was eventually found, scattered in separate pieces all around the venue after the show. This was at the Warfield in SF. Good times....

Naked Witch 7:77 I Luciferi '02

love the drums at the end here, great ending if you have good speakers and a good quality file.

Speaking of Danzig check this out! BTW Danzig rocks!!!

yeah I've seen that. Even though it was an embarrassing moment for us die hard fans, he got what he deserved. In the mid 90's he was mr. Jeet Kune Do, etc, etc. What does he go and do? HE starts the fight, and with the most ineffective gesture you could possibly think of. Quite frankly he got exactly what he deserved,
anyone who wants to start something with me by resorting to juvenile pushing and shoving is simply going to get clocked, period.
All I can say to his credit is that he got right back up after taking a heavy blow to the jaw, that at least takes some fortitude.

Has anyone else heard the new Testament album? Its so good. You guys have to give it a listen. If your a fan of old school thrash, its probably their second best album ever.

Seeing Chimaira in June with Dethklok in Cleveland. Definitely looking forward to it.

hell yeah! awsome album! i really like their stuff from the 80's it was death metal, check out schizophrenia i think thats the name of the album, i have morbid visions but schizophrenia is a re-release and has much better sound quality.

Kataklysm
Ok, this is one of my favorite bands. Great running drums, deep riffs, and a vocal demon - Just pure hate!

Hell Yeah brother! Kataklysm is a spectacular band for certain, I for one can't get enough of their brand of brutal grooving death metal, which has a sprinkle of melody thrown in for good measure.

kicking ass in the pit with "Diecast" Dec 07 in Taunton

Diecast puts on a good show, saw them with Drowning Pool at a bar around here last summer. Went more for them than DP, although the pit for Bodies was insane.

Today's song from me....
Mushroomhead:12 Hundred

Got some catching up to do here, I gotta work in a few hours, but gonna hit up the new stuff when I get home.

These guys....when we saw them at Ozzfest last year, my girlfriend tells me "They sound so evil!" I love it!

As much as I'd like to be a part of this thread I can't. My dial up technology is obsolete here. But I do have a few songs I'd like to share with you.

Vital Remains - Dechristianize (solo at 2:20 kicks ass)

Skinless - Battle of Perpetual Will

Carcass - Heartwork

Deicide - In Hell I burn

And of course, Cryptopsy - Crown of Horns ;)

backmasking fun

here's a classic example of backmasking. There's always some slight variation to what specifically is said, some make more sense than others, but in general everyone gets the same message more or less. Even if it was put in deliberately, which I highly doubt (although with this generation's music, especially w/ led zepp you never know) I don't think he's attempting to glorify Satan, just making some melancholy observances about man's options and their outcomes.

dude i absolutely love led zeb, but they are not metal and i know some people think of them as metal but they are not imo. they are one of the best bands of all time but as far as metal goes i think they don't belong here. no offense to you man, this is just my opinion. believe me iv'e already thought about posting led and the outlaws+montrose+creedence-crearwater+ the animals(house of the rising sun)+linard skinard+ted nugent+10 years after, and many more but they don't apply here. so once again this is just my opinion but led zep isn't metal. although they rip and although i can't view video at this moment i wish i could watch the vid you posted. sorry i don't mean to bash on you.

I agree, just going off on a bit of a tangent with the thread. I've posted the midfits here too, and although they've influenced a lot of metal bands, they weren't metal.
i totally agree with you, the misfits are badass and i also like the badbrains and DK, the cromags ! but i guess they don't fit here. i think we should start an all-metal thread called the (metal, deathmetal. death core. grind core, stoner metal, gore, black metal, thrash and speed metal, hard core(old and new) metal core, and this new sh*t called silly metal) and another thread called the classics for the classic bands! whose with me?
