~Let's Talk About LOST~

The coffin had a dharma initiative symbol on it so who knows who it may have been, i do think that it was ben though. I think jack started to understand what ben was doing and thats why he wants to go back to the island to be able to fix things like ben was and save the people that may still be on the island if they all were't already killed. no one really knew ben so no one would be at his funeral so it probably is him.....could also be michael though after what he did no one liked him and he had no family.

I want to know what happens to Locke and Sawer after all this, they better not kill those 2 off. Desmond is unnacounted for as well, but he does have another episode coming this season, so maybe be dies?

but why would Dharma put a logo on Ben's coffin? He is their enemy and would not have his coffin payed for by them. It may be someone we have yet to see. Do you have a screen shot of the peice of newspaper Jack was holding that had the name of the person in the coffin?

Dharma had a relationship with Whidmore and Ben couldn't kill Whidmore...perhaps because they are each others constant's...so for whatever reason maybe Dharma would indeed bury Ben out of pure respect for what he did on the island. Who knows. Stranger things have happened on the island.

Also, to try to answer some of the other stuff, Dharma, if you remember, is associated with Hanso - which itself has done research on life extension, cryogenics and psychic remote viewing - all of which seem to play a part in some of the current mysteries to an extent. They also did research on extra terrestrials, which to date I don't think the show has introduced anything about...maybe next season. :) Life extension is the clear one here, ie. reset the timer and stay in a time loop, therefore living forever, etc.

Cryogenics hasn't been directly mentioned yet but I'd suspect that they'll introduce this to some extent as a means for living forever as well. Only makes sense.

I can't come up with any kind of example of psychic remote viewing currently but maybe someone else can think of how they'd use this... with all of the flash forwards and flash backs, I can't see how this couldn't be integrated with that somehow?

I guess I gotta say bye-bye to this thread. I'm worried I'm gonna read/hear something about the fate of too many characters, before I get to actually witness it!

Here Myth, I'll leave you with this, and shall return when I'm caught up!

Also, I forgot to mention earlier that I really suspect that this season will end with them almost getting off of the island and cliffhanging us until next season. So I'll say it now preemptively...BASTARDS.

big bump for tonight!

I think the series will end with them all back at the airport about to board and the flight will be canceled.

Ooh sneaky, I like it. I feel like Simon on American Idol after last night though. It was all too predictable. We already knew that Kate had the baby, she got out of jail, she had talked to Sawyer, Jack was going to get together with her (marriage was only inevitable), and that Hurley was nuts. Was there anything you noticed that caught your attention or did you think the same thing I did?

Oh, and I forgot to add above that we already knew that Jack was the baby's uncle...I think last season pretty much solidified that in the future Jack finds out that Claire is his sister.

That episode bored me, as do all Jack episodes do. The only cool part was seeing the preview for next week! Finally we will see and understand who Jacob is! Looking forward to that one!

O so you do like Kate huh!!! She looked pretty damn hot in that episode, I guess the highlight, lol.

Call me a p**** but I swear, some of the music from this show makes me almost wanna burst into tears. I know... gay. But whoever does the soundtrack uses some seriously emotional shiz. I need a shot of TEST!

haha, you are right....... You need a shot of test! LOL, but seriously I have ALMOST teared a few times, they k ow when to really hit the music. Keep watching my man! How is the show now that you have watched it a little more?

I'll admit it... I'm pretty much hooked on it now. In fact, it's become a semi-addiction. I had to leave town for a couple days, and I brought my laptop along just so I could watch Lost when I had any down time. Plus, I've spent most of today watching the first half of season 2. Just finished the episode with Kate's background and the black horse's appearance/Sawyer gets better. The damn show is pretty much on my mind 24/7 and I'm starting to panic about the fact that I'm gonna be in Alaska for 4 months with no tv/internet access (which means no lost for a long ass time) I just keep telling myself that at least I'll get to watch most of season 4 sequentially when I get back. I can't imagine people that have followed this from the very beginning and having to wait each week for the next episode. I'm gonna be pissy when I finally catch up and have to wait like everyone else.

So, thanks a lot Myth... now I'm a freakin' Lost junkie because of you :aargh:

Oh and P.S. the song that I was whining about earlier is called "Parting Words" and was used the end of Season 1 (raft episode) and when Locke's dad f***ed him over for a kidney. It's one of the saddest, almost tears and vomit inducing pieces of music I've ever heard. (I was gonna be a music major so I may be a tad bias) but no ****, Michael Giacchino must have sold his soul to the devil to produce that kinda music. Okay, I'm done ranting.

nice man! See, I told you its a great show! It only gets better! Trust me, lots of answers come, but so do more questions to keep you hooked! Yea, waiting a week sucks seriouse ass, and I think about it all week because of it, trying to figure out what the hell is happening! Its tough, cuz just when you think you have it all figured out, BAM, they throw you a curveball and you are back to square 0, LOL, not 1!

The one solid thing I've picked up so far is that almost every time someone's life is explained, usually they have killed someone or contributed to a death in some way. Thats about all I can see in similarities between people on the island, as of right now. Everything else is just crazily confusing.

You need answers or at least some help understanding certain things, this is the place to ask man, we can give you some guidance depending on where you are without spoiling the show for you! Glad you like it man, wish more people would listen to me when I say to stick in there past a few epsiodes and you will be hooked!

Yeah, I never said I didn't like Kate. :) I just posted a less-than-flattering photo of her, in which she is still pretty hot.

Hurley, I've found that going back and watching some of the old episodes again have given me answers to some of the questions I had. If you're watching them sequentially without waiting a week between episodes you'll probably catch on pretty quick. It's addicting as hell man, and I dont get easily hooked on TV shows. LOST is really the only show on tv that I watch religiously.

Yeah, the only drawback I'm finding with watching it this way is the fact that I don't get to sit and think about what just happened. In other words, even though you guys had to wait each week, at least that gave you a chance to think about what had happened during the show. I'll admit watching it this way is much easier handle patience-wise, but I get with a new twist every 20 minutes (or so) all day long. By the time I bring myself to quit watching it (which is NO easy task I might add) my mind is completely boggled and I've had no chance to try a figure out whats going on. I'm kinda looking forward to catching up just so I can be "lost" with everyone else about whats gonna happen.

UPDATE: I'm currently on the episode where Hurley's friend "Dave" first appears. I've got 5 episodes left of season 2. I'm going nutty!! :fool2:

So is the Scott/Steve confusion just a running Lost joke? Surely it has no importance - seems to minute to actually be anything big.

Every couple of episodes one of the not-so-important characters named Scott is referred to as Steve (or vice versa) but one of the two (Scott/Steve) was murdered by Ethan. So now they've just kept mixing up the guys name every coupla' episodes.

EDIT: I found a site that seems to explain what I'm talking about: Invalid Link Removed Guess it's an inside joke for the writers more than anyone else.

2 more episodes until season 2 is finished for me! :woohoo:

This is the best way to spend a day trying to feel better - "Lost, cure for the common cold."

WARNING! SPOILER BELOW

wow...so this episode helped answer a lot. Confirmed the jacks dad/claire relationship and my suspicion that Locke takes over the island. Lots of new questions though... Good episode - will wrote more tomorrow, writing this from iPhone.

One thing I didn't get though is Locke's dad in the past when he was a kid. Doesn't appear to be the same guy that he donated a kidney to. Also freaky that the Dharma guy made another cameo appearance, this time in the past, and not appearing any older or younger than when we saw him on the island or pre-island (ie. when he recruited Juliette). This should confirm any notion of time travel. I think this guy plays a more significant role on the island than we are led to believe. Being led to believe something on the show only tends to lead to being wrong - as shown last night when Ben stated that "the island wanted me to get sick and you to get better, it's yours now". Ben really isn't in control at all as we've been led to think the past couple of seasons.

And whats up with creepy Claire?? Is she dead? In "the sahpe of things to come" Calire says: my stomach is a bit woozy, but I'll live", and Miles says back " uh I wouldnt be so sure about that". Kinda weird.

And Christian is alive, or dead? WTF@#$%!!!!!

And Locke " We need to move te Island" WTFx10000000!#$^%^$#!!!!!!

So many things to talk about. Black guy at the hospital helping Locke; Richard at Lockes birth. O man, my head is spinning!!! Richard might be Jacob, or maybe even Locke is Jacob???

On a side note, that 45 sec scene with Ben and Hurley sharing a candy bar cracked me up!

I think Claire was already dead when she came into the house when Miles said that to her. If you remember, he has a knack for seeing and communicating with dead people. That's why Whidmore wanted him on the team going to the island. Wouldn't surprise me, since last night we saw Locke talking to a guy that's been dead for 12 years. I think she was finally at peace when she was in the cabin because she realized who her dad was, what her relationship with Jack was, and she knew that her son was going to make it off of the island safely and grow up with her brother. Epiphany might be the right word to use... a sudden all-knowing. Because she's been confused for so long.

I think they needed ben to take over the island but they need locke to move the island and make sure no one can harm it.

Makes sense - going to be very interesting to see how they play out the whole moving the island thing. I like to think I have a pretty good imagination but I can't come up with any theories on how they'll pull that one off.

I think they are going to change the coordinance by shifting the magnetism on the island slightly. I don't think they are going to physically move the island, that's just what they want us to think.

I forget, how was it that no one could find the island before? I know the Looking Glass station was jamming all outgoing communications, but I seem to remember something that was preventing anyone outside from finding the island.

I think that once the Looking Glass was destroyed, then the message being broadcast from the tower was heard from Whidmore's boat but I seem to remember something else, which is escaping me at the moment.

And re: the magnetism thing above, are they even still able to do this since Desmond blew up the hatch?

Locke may just have to get to work on rebuilding it or use a backup that Ben has. We have not seen everything Ben knows yet about the island and I am sure there are a ton of secrets he still has up his sleeve. I think Ben is just acting dumb right now, he always has a plan, I am not fooled by his sudden submission to Locke and Jacob. He has done this at least twice before.
This season seems as if it is going to end with the 6 leaving, and next season is going to be about them trying to get back, and the final season will be about them fixing what went wrong.

You think Claire's baby is possibly evil, or is he going to be the savior? They are setting it up to be something big with her baby, and with this toe
travel theory, it could even end up being baby Jacob, or Whidmoore! Hard to tell, but something important with him will be revealed. Walt is also important, I don't think we have seen the end of him. You think Walt could possibly be the black guy that visited Hurley and Locke?

wow some nice theories there myth...really anything can be possible at this point for all we know john is aaron.

I'd considered the possibility that Claire's baby is, in fact, Jacob. After all, no other babies and/or mothers can survive on the island so that in itself makes both of them special in some way.

Don't think that Walt is the guy that visited Hurley and Locke - if you remember, that guy is Eko's brother that was the priest from South Africa or wherever they were from. He flew the plane that crashed on the island that was carrying the porcelain Virgin Mary statues filled with heroin. But I do agree that Walt must play a larger role in this whole thing somehow. Honestly, I think Walt dies soon though rather than coming back as an "alive Walt", he rather comes back and visits people on the island as the "dead Walt" or apparition or ghost or whatever you want to call them. I think it was either at the end of last season or beginning of this season that either Locke or Hurley saw Walt somewhere in the jungle. Tie that in with the time travel theory and you've got yourself a dead Walt. Everyone else that comes and visits people in the jungle is dead already.

You know, something just dawned on me when I was trying to figure out last night's episode... The name of the science camp that they were trying to recruit Locke into is called Mittelos Science Camp. Rearrance the letters a bit on Mittelos and you get "Lost Time". Coincidence?

Yemmi was not the one who visited Locke and Hurley in the hospitals, it was a different guy completely. They look similar though. Walt could be dead in the future though, I do like that catch about the ghosts of all the dead are the ones that visit the people on the island. But remember, Walt has special powers, as shown in the first season, something to do with making things happen simply by thinking about it.

Holy crap Bobo!!!! Nice fricken catch!!!! They have done that before, it hasto mean something, but what? Maybe for the time lost between when he was supposed to go with Richard as a kid??? Is LOST really maybe about LOST time, not where "lost" are they, but "when"?

Great, except I'm not Bobo. :)

Really makes you start to think... I'm sure LOST will translate into something in the future as well. There were a lot of things in last night's episode that really made me think. Could go in a lot of different directions. Like, the test that Richard gave young Locke. I only know this because I took a lot of History classes in college and I suspect most people wouldn't pick it up, but the test of "here, here's a bunch of things, and i want you to tell me which things are yours" is a test that traditionally is used to choose a new Dalai Lama. Read up about it here: Invalid Link Removed - specifically, the section labeled Succession.

Is Richard testing Locke at a young age to see if he is "the one" that will be one of their future leaders?

And I'm assuming that some of these little innuendos like Mittelos may mean something to the writers but will never be explained. They like to have inside jokes like that, so it wouldn't surprise me if it ended up just being a name either that we never find out about. If they're naming things based on that theory then next is to find out what DHARMA means. Any takers?

my bad "Costanza" LOL!

Locke is definetly being set yp to be a future leader, but like Ben said, he thought he was the "One" also... We shall see, definetly getting crazy! Maybe we will see the Dalorian make a pittstop on the island to drop off a flux copasator, LOL.

Finally... I'm up-to-date with LOST (but will unfortunately be unable to see anymore episodes for close to 5 months) :aargh:

The black orderly is Matthew Abbadon, and in my opinion he is like Richard, only he works for Widmore. They both seem to be the guys that get things started/recruiters, but for opposite teams.

Also... I think this episode definitely explains Jack's future despair about not being able to get back to the island. If Locke moves the "entrance coordinates" (moving the island) then Jack won't be able to get back to it.

What about young Locke drawing the smoke monster?? I honestly have no clue where to go with that one.

you leave when? Lost is almost over, 2 more episodes left, one of which is the 2 hour finale! That's a pretty keen eye you got there about the black guy working for whidmoore! The good and evil theme has been rampant throughout the show! Nice catch!
