You have 120 minutes of HGH release so if you eat every 3 hours and you take it say 1 hour or 1 hour and 20 minutes after you eat and the next meal is in 3 hours. You have 30-40 minutes to spare.

2-2-2 works, the key to to use powerFULL 1 hour after a meal. Once you eat carbohydrates, you lose the HGH effect. Carbohydrates take about 45 minutes to digest with the insulin response.
Anecdotally taking 2 or 3 pre workout is a dramatic increase in intensity, focus and drive during workouts compared to taking just one. Once you go 3 you never go back
