'Jumper' movie

Is anyone going to watch this movie ? Samuel L. Jackson looks pretty wacky in it. This is my back up plan tonight to watch this movie if my original plans fall through.

Looks kinda dumb, but a group of us agreed to watch it if we don't go out.
 
it looked really tight and the whole idea of being able to teleport is fvckin awesome but when you see the guys hunting them done it kinda looks like a stupid plot. I have heard it is a real dud. I mean they gave it alot of hype but just about all the reviews say it was a let down.

same thing here. That's why I'm not very adiment about watching it. Esp, at nighttime movie prices.
 
I thought it was pretty good, but a little short in length, IMO. The movie could have stood to be about 20 minutes longer, maybe providing more of a back story on the history of the 2 groups (jumpers/paladins). I enjoyed it for what it's worth. It's entertaining, and set itself up for a sequel to follow...

What they are going for is the concept of a person having a greater "power" than normal people and, in spite of the comic book heroes, the conclusion that at some point that person cannot help but finallly see themselves as separate, ceasing to identify with average people. This leads to exploration of themselves as power, testing llimits, and eventually seeing people as nothing but toys.

While not supernatural, look at the fate of many "ultra powerful" people and the horrors they inflict.

The hunters, realizing this, look to prevent anyone from getting hurt by this "inevitable" descent into evil - sort of cynical, but not out of the realm of possibility.

However, I heard the movie was poorly executed and, let's face it...Hayden Christensen couldn't act like he was bleeding even if you shot him with a .45.

It was a decent movie, and a little short in length, The girl was a hottie. I'd follow her around the world.

The beef I have is with movie prices. I went in the afternoon, and it STILL cost me $9 to see it. NUTS!!

BTW..... Go netflix!!

$9.00 in the afternoon ? Where do you live ? That's ridiculous.


Yeah, I'll report back if I end up watching it. Yup, the girl does look good in it.
 
after the matinee prices its about 9 bones here too. if you are taking a date and buying popcorn drinks...your talking 40 bucks, so much for a cheap date. (at least for me it aint) better be getting some action with that.
 
i saw it online 2 days ago, i didnt like it. it sucks. not worth the money .


well the only thing good about the movie was Rachel Bilson other than that it sucked.
 
It's a special effects movie so I guess we all have to take it for whats its worth. I'll probably wait to see until it comes into the cheap theatre ($4 tickets) hell I wait for most movies to go there. It's a nice theatre and with 2 tickets, popcorn and a drink your still under 20 dollars.
 
Quite a few popcorn eaters here for a Bodybuilding board. :)
 
Other than the movie tickets, I never buy anything else at a theatre. Excessively expensive.


In fact, I still have my old college ID, so I show it to them and pretend that I am a college student and get the discount. More cash for chicken.

Damn skippy. I even have a home popcorn machine. I make better popcorn then the theatre:D Also it's extremely high in fiber so that's why I eat it:bb2:
