Brady Could be the greatest ever

He still is better than Manning. Sorry.

You are entitled to your opinion but, he IS NOT better than Bradshaw or Montana. At no time in their careers did either one of those guys miss WIDE OPEN receivers in the big game like Tommy Boy missed Randy Moss tonight.

As that's YOUR opinion........I think you're missing the overall big picture of brady and his success. He's 30 y/o and already been to the superbowl 4 times. Don't let your distaste for the pats cloud your judgement as it apparently has....

True true

As much as I don't like the Patriots, you have to admit, they are a damn good team, one of the best ever in the NFL. We'll see how they do next season.

Probably watch in amazement while the cowgirls once AGAIN perform under highly anticipated "expectation" ;)

Yup, just the retort I expected.

We lost in the playoffs aginst a "hack" named Eli Manning. Your "undefeated", "untouchable", "superhuman" Patsies lost the big one when they were supposed to dominate and go down in history as the greatest team to ever play the game....

..then they got beat by Eli Manning.

But you forget one thing......at least we got there.......setting MANY records along the way. ;) Their dynasty has already been set, this would have only added to the fact.

I am amazed at the performance from the NY Giants. I thought they'd be able to hang in there for a while but they outfought the Patriots today. I guess I'm officially wrong about Eli Manning being overrated now LOL. That play on the final drive to Tyree has to be the most unbelievable clutch play in a big game that I remember, he should have been sacked on that play.

The Patriots got nothing from Maroney and they were unable to give Brady good protection. I expected the Giants to get some heat but it seemed as if Brady was getting slammed every play. This probably had an effect on the clock in his head and made him throw some un-Brady like passes towards the end.

Gotta give the Giants credit for this one, they just wanted it more.

MULLET: Fanboyism ? Come on bro, Brady is bad-a$$, I'll take him on my team any day. I'll even take him over Peyton Manning.

He was pretty efficient today but the Giants just made more big plays when in clutch situations. The Patriots got nothing from Maroney (which surprised me) and this was the biggest difference, not Brady. His stat line was 29-48 60.4% 266 yds. 1TD 0INT. He didn't really fail, he actually did pretty good when you consider how NY's pass rush was getting heat on him. If he had thrown 2-3INT's then you can put a lot of the blame on him but not with his performace.

I'm guilty of saying Eli's an overrated player :) He proved that he's a solid QB with his Play-Off performance. Many are even saying Shockey's injury was a blessing in disguise for Eli.

They were indeed. E. Smith is the man!

He would have been nothing without his line....Now Barry Sanders...HE IS THE MAN!!!!!

I agree that sanders was unique in all aspects of the word, however smith was great any way you put it.... good line or not.....He was a gator so you know the man had talent :).......If jmh80 sees this i expect some sort of retort lol ;)

I used to be a die-hard Cowboys fan when I was younger. They had Aikmen, Smith, and Sanders. They were an amazing team.

Brady definitely didn't play to his potential tonight, nor did the rest of the team. It's a shame.

Yes they did. People act like Bradshaw and Montana were perfect all the time...far from it but as I said in the beginning of the thread in my first post, the emphasis was on "IF" Brady wins 4. He didn't, so therefore my statement is moot. Unfortunately, I have this feeling he'll be back again... :)

By the way, I haven't seen anyone (media or here at AM) discuss Belichick's to pass on a 49 yard field goal. Belichick chose to go for it on 4th and 13 which surprised the hell out of me. That's a lower percentage play when compared to a 49 yard field goal in good kicking conditions. IF Belichick chooses to kick the FG and they make it then they would've been tied at 17 and this would have been the first Super Bowl to go to OT. This decision doesn't guarantee the Patriots a win but it makes you wonder how things would have turned out.

I always wondered what Barry Sanders could have done if he played behind the Cowboys or was with the 49ers or Bills offense. Those safeties couldn't cheat to stop him with the Bills or 49ers because of their deadly passing attacks. He never had a QB that could take pressure away from him.

I think he would have been confused with the truck sized holes they created...

In the shock i guess i did forget to mention that. I can't believe that he went for it on 4th and 13.....I honestly never in the world would have thought he would do that. However, if they had converted and scored a TD, they would have won in the end. All the what if's....

True, all the "what if's" is what makes us play Monday morning QB and keeps analysts employed :D I don't think it would have been a bad idea on 4th and 1-5 but 13 yards is not what you typically get in one play, 1-5 yards is very doable based on a team's yard's per play average. That's the reason why his move shocked me. Even my mom questioned that and she's not a big football fan.

Yeah i agree, if it was 4th and 5 i would have gone for it myself without question. I'm just really surprised he would do that. However just the same, if they had converted and eventually scored we'd be saying how gutsy he was. Man the what if's kill me. lol

Yes, those "what-ifs" will be circling about for YEARS to come, as this is clearly the biggest Superbowl upset to date. Another what-if was the volley-ball type reaction a Giants receiver made on a ball on the Patriot's own 10 yard line. Even if they went 3 and out, it would have been a chipshot field goal. And the Giants made several strong drives into Patriot territory, stopping just short of FG markings. Patriots had several of those similiar drives, including the huge fumble at the 50 yard line. Just a few more yards would have made a huge FG opportunity. And lastly, the biggest one that stands out to me, is the crazy amout of INT chances the Patriot's DB's had on Eli's big final drive. Off the hands, twice, maybe three times. What a game... rollercoaster ride for sure.

IMO, I still think Brady is one of the best ever, and SHOULD be in the talk of the greatest along with Bradshaw and those groups. ANY quarterback that gets knocked around in that game will not be able to produce.. and I mean ANY QB in the game. Bradshaw can't do it, Montana can't do it.. I was suprised that Brady didn't throw any picks during the game with so many simoltaneous knockdowns during his throws.

I'd like to see how Brady would do behind the niners o-line. Qb's are the leader of the team and it is the toughest job but besides that I think they are overated but not as much as RB's. Out of the 4 rb's in New York this season which one didn't have success. It's all about the genetic freaks upfront baby. On both sides of the ball as we saw last night!
