Kabuki's "VIDEO" Log - a little crazy fun for everyone

I'm not sure how much those bands add. I would guess 40# bottom 100# top. If thats the case and those briefs aren't doing much if anything than thats 675-735. Seems like a 700# pull should be going down soon, thats raw too. If you got a suit that helped a bit(I know dl suits don't usually help too much) 750# seems within your grasp, soon. A 750 dl beats a 1000 squat in my book, only because some people seem to get 300#+ out of squat suits.

There have been only two supplement companies that I have consistently gone out of my way to recommend their products, and these are the only two companies I would currently associate my name with. I would never put myself in a place where I am supporting a company or product I don’t strongly believe in.

With that said:

I am proud to announce that I have recently received a partial sponsorship from GetDiesel Nutrition. And I will now be working with USP labs in the near future which may turn into a long term relationship.

I am really excited to be working with USP labs at this time. Over the last couple years I have had the opportunity to use nearly their whole product line and have been thoroughly impressed with their cutting edge supplements, quality, and unique extraction methods.

I can not say enough about some of their products. I have detailed on several occasions working through injuries with Cissus and Super Cissus as a key ingredient in my recovery methods. I suffered with some tendon related issues for years prior to discovering Cissus and that combined with preventative care methods have made these lingering problems completely disappear! I always have a bottle of Cissus on hand just in case and have also had great success using it while in a caloric deficit for the anti-catabolic benefits.

I have been using either Anabolic Pump or Pslin ever since each supplement hit he market. They have helped me sustain my BF% while eating a caloric excess that I maintain to support my aggressive training. In the past I have put on significant BF which I later had to cut of which hurt my strength levels. Since last January when I started using AP I have kept my BF% at the same level and put a total of 10+lbs of lean mass on my already thick frame, which I know the AP has helped play a role in.

I have not run the newer version of Powerfull but I used the old version with success, and the improved growth hormone release and test level increases were noticeable. I currently still have a stock of Powerfull that I keep on hand and use as a sleep aid when I need it.

I am really looking forward to see what kind of stack USP labs puts together for me, and excitedly look forward to working with them!

i did not. only thing i got was my waist. wasn't a priority once i found the meet days were so close and dieting won't be happening.

I'm back to doing my weekly Active Release Therapy. Focused on some area's that have been bothering me the last two months that i have not gone tonight, then in the next sessions we will get back to work on the triceps. Worked on left Patella tendon, right hamstring, and left forearm. Found some tough adhesions in my upper hammy i was not expecting but got them worked out.

Got home for some sled pulling. and damn my glutes and hips were screamin after doing those band resisted sumo pulls just last night. full 1 min slower than sundays time on the same loop.

135lbs x15.5min 100steps forward 60 reverse w/no rest.

Thanks for sharing the video.

VERY strong guy to be squatting that much with that technique.

That won't "help" me as it is quite a bit different than what i do and his upper back position is even worse than what mine was, which is currently the only flaw i am aware of with my technique.

Man, that dude had to do a serious good morning at the end. His left leg also went out wide than his right. That takes some balls to grind that out.

Well this style has advantages,he doesn't need spoters(you see how this guys are cool),just throw the bar over his neck..brpp..

And strength compilation 2(if you didn't see it)as bonus and to wipe this out
Maybe on 3rd you will be on it

 Doesn't need a spotter? If he can't complete that good morning at the end his head will get slammed into the ground! The dude is a bad ass, but I'd say that he's bound for disaster.

That second video is dope. Some chick did a triple with 235 on standing military.

That filmed set is actually the first time I’ve done one of those.

Wheels of death???Is this the first thing on video? Is there any specific reason that you are doing them?

If you have time,im interesting about your squat warm up routine. What do you do to prepare your self for heavy lifting,i dont bellive that you are doing much stretching.

I do a lot of hip and glute stretching prior to my first warmup sets. Then between sets when i have just the bar and one plate on the bar i am doing hamstring and low back stretches. Usually hit a little bit more hip and glute stretching before I hit two plates on the bar. By that time i am done stretching.

I generally don't do a lot of hamstring stretches before heavy training as it will generally reduce the amount of weight lifted but i get them loosened up a little and make sure they are not to tight still from previous training session. My main focus prior to squating is with the hips.

After i'm done training I will go through the whole thing again with more focus on hamstring and back at this time.

I was just playing around with the wheel of death, but yes that is the first thing on the vid. Very hard on abdominals, and obviously hits a few other muscles as well.

1/2 hr stretching

Sled pulling
135lbs x 13:15 (100steps forward and 60 backward w/no rest)
new record time for this distance

first half was actually a bit slower than last two times but i gutted it up and pulled it in hard.

thanks SY

This week will be a deload week. I will just be backing off of the heavy ME lifts and will still be doing all my assistance work at anywhere between 80-100%.

I’m roughly thinking of doing floor presses w/185lbs for 3 sets with reps close to failure and minimal rest on ME bench day and just doing some Speed deadlifts in the 425-500lb range for my ME Squat/Dead day.

No vids this week either as I will need all my spare time to finish off the installation of some hardwood floors this week.

I have not finished my training cycle for the next 6 weeks yet but will post it up when its complete. It won’t be much different just some minor tweaks.

A little Kabuki Yoga and minimal stretching to start.

New training outline starting next week, and as always it will change a bit once I get into it. Lot of the same stuff, but figured I would take advantage of the additional conditioning I’m in and try and squeeze another exercise in each day. We will see how it goes as I’ve been doing it with one core lift and 4 additional exercises for over a year now.

Today was my last day of deloading/cutting/cruising. Monday its back to DC training. I put 4 plates each side on the smythe and got one and went down on number two and couldnt get back up.

also heres an article I found useful and with moving heavy weight(FOR ME) Its not heavy to you bigman Im incorparating meditation everyday for 20-30 mins, just thought it might help with moving the heavy slag iron.

visualization is key for me. I often see my big lifts that i accomplish a week or two in advance before i actually do them. i could definetly see meditation being usefull as i get in a similiar state when visualizing what i'm going to accomplish. My dad actually was Budhist and during his world travels spent time with the monks. I'm not but i picked up on some things.

i'll read that later when i got a few spare minutes.

Finished up installing the hardwood in our addition with a few hours to spare before dinner. And I start my new training cycle monday which calls for heavy Safety Squat Bar work and i do not have one.

So a couple weeks ago i went and spent 30min during my lunch break at the scrap steel yard and picked up an 8ft section of 1 3/8" solid barstock and 4ft section of 2" barstock for a total of $29. Combine that with this little items that showed up on my desk at work.

add a little bit of shop time.

And walla! we have a super Beefy SSB (82lbs!), that only needs a little bit of padding added. All for less than $30.

you nailed that.

Texas Squat Bar
Texas Power Bar
Okie Deadlift Bar
Standard Oly bar

and a bunch of misc stuff in the corner.

Do you use the reg olympic bar for anything? I only have a reg olympic bar(as far as straight bars) and am looking to buy a new bar. What do you think is the best all around bar I could buy? Do you notice a difference using the TS for squatting, the Okie for deadlifting, and I assume the TP for benching? Thanks, Big Dogg:twisted:

if you get just one bar the TP is the best one as it will work well for all 3 lifts. The TS is absolutely great for squatting heavy!!! those heavy weights suck with a standard bar whipping all over the place. The only reason i have a deadlift bar is to get the 'feel' of the bar before competition, otherwise standard bars work fine. The standard oly bar is my utility bar that my be used over overhead lockouts and things like that.

Do you recommend I get the TP bar from elitefts or would a 1500lb test bar be just as good?(new york barbells)

i would recomend the texas power bar.
