Anyone know of any classic literature involving roids?

I really need some help here! I have a HUGE college unit project that I need to begin and I have to relate 2 books(1 classic piece of literature(novel, and 1 recent novel involving the same subject). I decided the recent novel of choice shall be Steroid Nation By Shaun Assael, but i can't find any literature that involves performance enhancing drugs or roids! The book can be fiction. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated!!!

Look up ambrosia. It was the drink in Greek Mythology that gave mortals immortality.

IE Achilles was anointed with it, but the act was stopped before being fully completely...hence his weakness, his heel.

That's likely a stretch, but the best I can offer at the moment. Maybe it'll spark an idea in somebody else though.

To stretch it even further in Classic literature, compare steriod use of today to the classic tale of narcisism. Much like we are looking into a genetic pond in love with ourselves.

I thought Achillies was dipped in the river Styx, and was held by his heels? Not that it matters lol.
