good fat sources while doing ckd/tkd

I'm currently doing TKD and i'm running a bit short on calories. I already have plenty of fish oil and flax seed oil. What are some food sources for good fats without carbs?

If I don't meet my daily needs for fat I add in some extra virgin olive oil. I pretty much drink the stuff with every meal. An easy way to use it if your not partial to just downing it by itself is throw 1-2 tbsps. in one of your daily shakes. Another way I throw in extra fat cals is with heavy whipping cream. Another great additive for shakes.

coconut oil is superb. I like to use it for cooking. drop 1/4 cup in a fry pan, fry up some shrimp or cut up chicken in it with jerk spices, then toss some fresh spinach in right at the end to pick up all the remaining oil. yum

coconut oil is not recommended on a cyclic carb diet if your primary goal is to burn fat for energy. It is a unique fat in that it uses a different energy substrate than other fats which will fukc up your body's ability to utilize EFA's for fuel. A little bit here and there never hurt anyone though.

interesting. I didn't see anything about it specifically (either way) in Lyle McDonald's "The Ketogenic Diet" other than him mentioning it and palm kernel oil are the only saturated fats that come from plant origin.

Yes but Lyle McDonald focuses on ketosis. Thats why I say for those that are interested in burning fat for fuel do not use coconut oil as a main fat source. Dr. DiPasquales diet is not ketogenic in that once your body is adapted to using fat for fuel you will never be in ketosis (which you don't want anyways since ketosis is very catabolic.) This is achieved by eating just enough carbs (about 30 per day) to stay out of ketosis but not enough to make your body use carbohydrates as a main fuel source.
