BPS gets into an Anabolic State w/ X-Factor and Mass FX!

ahh cool, im assuming she liked hockey or something and you took at slapshot at her and knocked her out. gave her cpr. and that started the lovely relationship? close?

Close....she just couldn't resist it when I chased a guy down the ice, took him down and started ramming his head on the ice......that one netted me a 7 game suspension!

East Coast fitness eh...it'll always be fitness city to me..lol...
My gf did her undergrad @ msvu...Its gotta be better then Nubodys bro...like glamour hollywood gym, hot girls, but its annoying having them fix their hair in the mirror..lol..
Anyway bro, if your hitting the bars tonight, maybe see ya out!..haha..friends having a party, and im tryin to convince people not to go to the alehouse, which i hate with a passion.

I would actually prefer to go to Nubody's in Clayton Park, but the price prevents me from going!! No bars, but we went out for another meal (two nights in a row!?!? Major cardio happening this week now) hit up East Side Mario's, had Baked Zitti with Italian Sausage. It was ok, not great just ok. No gym today though, it's closed! Back at er tomorrow.

That sucks....but just think of it this way, you can check out all the other logs before you start and see what's working and what's not...

Workout # 4

Another late workout due to prior commitments. :wtf: Man....I seem to have something every single night, it's getting a little frustrating as I don't always have the energy for the gym that I need to maximize my progress. Anyway, here's the shoulders and bi's...

Cardio

30 Minutes on the treadmill, level 4 incline at 3.9 MPH.

Energy Level: The workout was done after a long day at work and a coaching a game for the kids. By the time all that was done, I really didn't have the proper energy I would want to have when going to the gym but I tried to put as much intensity in the workout as possible. 6.5/10

Workout Rating: B, I wasn't all that happy with this workout, mostly I think I'm just fed up with this gym. It just doesn't have the equipment I need/want and the whole atmosphere isn't very conducive to bodybuilding. I think I definitely need a change in atmosphere to recharge my batteries a little bit.

Post Workout Musings: I haven't noticed any real effects of either product yet, no extra strength, no extra soreness/DOMS. It'll be a week of use in a couple days so I should still have a few days before really noticing anything. I can't wait to experience some effects since I could use the motivation.

Chest like an MFer last night!!! It was another late workout, but I felt like just busting it regardless of my energy level, as I had practiced with the kids earlier in the day I didn't worry about conserving energy for cardio, instead I just went for it.

Cardio

None....er....I guess, I kinda skating the crap out of myself at practice with the kids so that's my cardio session for yesterday.

Energy Level: Although the workout was late again, I forced myself to do all that I could. I definitely wasn't at full energy but I made the most of it. 7.5/10

Workout Rating: I'll give this workout an A, the bench presses felt awesome and I probably could've even done more if I wanted, I would've liked to have went heavy with the Incline DB presses as well but the weights only go up to 60 so that's what I did.

Post Workout Musings: I don't know if it was like switching a light on or what but I felt confident and strong for this workout, maybe I'm starting to experience some effects from the products? I'm planning on fitting in a leg workout sometime today (the kids have another game) and I'm planning on going heavy again so we'll see where that goes. Has anyone experienced lethargy on one of these supps, as I've been feeling extra tired lately, maybe I'm just on the run too much?

So today was leg day, of course we had a game tonight so I ended up in the gym later in the evening again. It wasn't my best leg workout but it was still pretty good for a 10pm leg workout....

- Warmed up with leg extensions, I'm not even sure how many just kept on doing sets of 10@150 until the one dude got off of the squat rack.

Energy Level: Late workouts = no energy, I've really got to try to get in before these games if possible to maximize my energy levels. 6.5/10

Workout Rating: B+, not my best but the heavier squats felt pretty good, my knees still can't handle going very low (you can see in the vids) but I've found a range that's feeling pretty good right now.

Post Workout Musings: Another day of feeling good and strong, I am just imagining what I would've done if I would've got into the gym earlier. Although I haven't had massive increase in strength or anything like that yet, I do have a general feeling of well-being and everyday I'm feeling stronger....

Can't post vids.....:squat:

This warship needs some GUNZ!!!

Reflecting back upon my leg workout....As happy I am that my knees don't hurt I'm a little disappointed in how weak my legs have gotten, especially the left one (realized this on the single leg presses). Last night was a pure arms and cardio night, it went pretty decent, I'm off work today since the team I'm coaching is in a tournament, probably try to get the back workout in this afternoon. Maybe some deadlift vids???

Cardio

30 Minutes on the treadmill again - have to find some more time to put towards cardio, but I'm going to start playing with a hockey team (like I have any time for that :) ) so that'll give me some extra time - gotta avoid the after hockey beers though.

Energy Level: I actually had some good energy for this workout, I found that I was "craving" the gym, I was in one of those moods when all you can think about is lifting. 9/10

Workout Rating: A+, for this one, the pump I had going in my arms was intense to say the least! My strength was also quite good, the way I was feeling I just wanted to keep loading on the weights, but intelligence/experience told me when to stop.

Post Workout Musings: I was definitely feeling primed for the gym, as I said previously, I was craving the workout. After work all I wanted to do was get in there and lift. I'm going to put some of this on the supplements I've been taking because in the last couple days I've started to feel a rejuvenation towards the gym. I feel like I want to just push harder and harder, is this the aggessive feeling from the MassFX that I'm experiencing...I would have to say yes, as nothing else in my life has changed. I've also started to notice (or I should say ~DD~ has started to notice) some recomp happening to my body, although I've been staying roughly the same weight, she's been noticing that I appear to be hardening up, she's also been making some comments about the size of my arms, chest and back. My "size" hasn't changed that much in the last couple years, so it's pretty rare that she is actually noticing some size increase/fullness in certain muscle groups. I can't wait to see the rest of this log through as I can almost *feel* that I'm getting stronger.

Had a crazy busy weekend - the kids had 6 games in three days!!! Got a couple workouts in, will post on them a little later....had to take yesterday off as I wasn't feeling top notch. I'm a whole lot better today though so after I finish coaching I'm going to tear that gym a new a$$hole while working on my chest!!!

So I think that the crazy bad headaches that I was having was a combination of not drinking enough fluids over the weekend and the supplements I'm taking. Both *could* have headaches as a side-effect if water consumption is not where it should be. After getting back on track Monday (with my water inatake) I was totally feeling 100% better on Tuesday.

Bench Press - I reduced the amount of reps I was doing so that I would have the energy for a big lift at the end.

Cardio

We had a game so I we didn't have practice yesterday, no ice time for me, so after weights I went on the X-trainer for 35 minutes, random hill setting on level 10.

Energy Level: Energy was awesome (now that I have the headaches figured out). 8.5/10

Workout Rating: A+ on this workout, the 385 lift felt great, I wanted to even try 405 but I thought "give it another week" there's no rush. that being said I can't wait for the next chest workout!

Post Workout Musings: Now that I'm headache free the workout felt great! I *feel* that I am getting stronger as it has been a long time since I've bench pressed that kind of weight, and I even felt like I could do more. So far the only side effects I've felt have been the headaches, I haven't had excessive DOMS or anything like that. The increased agression/male feeling I consider a positive, not a side. So as a whole I'm very happy with where these products are taking me.

Damn gym was F'in closed for "repairs" last night!!!! I really getting sick of this place!!!! I'm just going to have to bite the bullet, go and get a membership somewhere else and just cut down on our expenses somewhere because this place is really pissing me off!!!

our thanks giving was 6 weeks ago..hhaha..

Yeah...but thanks anyways, I hope you guys are enjoying your Holiday down there.

i actually convinced my gf to make me sweet potatoes and stuff tonight...no turkey, but a lil bbq chicken..haha

happy thanksgiving bro

Damn.... didn't even think of that....nah, she's too damn busy as it is, it would've just been turned around on me and I would've been the one in the kitchen cooking up a storm and baking some pies......LOL!!!

Since I had practice with the kids this morning at 6:30 am I made the decision not to do legs last night. It'll take some shuffling around but I'll still get all my workouts in this week. Instead I did a top notch arm workout.

Energy Level: Energy level was quite good, can't complain about that at all. I was able to get in a few more reps and up the weight in a couple areas, so it's all good! 8.5/10

Workout Rating: A, Pretty darn solid arm workout! The pump was insane (I thought that I was going to have to cut my sleeves to fit my arms...LOL!) but the quality of the contractions was really what got me. Every rep just seemed to fully flex the muscles. Just felt like a real "quality" workout.

Post Workout Musings: I'm definitely happy with where this is going. Not only was I feeling strong, but I was able to increase the reps/weight on a few of the sets, which is showing progress. The increase in water consumption has alleviated the headaches (note to anyone suffering this same affliction, DRINK MORE WATER!!!) No other sides noticed. I'm feeling a little extra sore this morning so I am wonding if this is the X-Factor starting up or it could be the fact that I've been battling on and off with a cold, I guess we'll know by the end of the day, either I'll be sick or ready to bust a workout.

Oops....I've missed a couple updates here. Well I was sick all weekend I really didn't get too much done. Finally yesterday, I just told myself to suck it up and get to the gym, since I had missed a couple workouts, I ripped off a pretty decent shoulder and back workout (a surprisingly good combo).

Due to hockey practice yesterday I exchanged my scheduled leg workout for a quickie arm blast (gym was closing early)

Energy Level: Good energy during the day, got even better at the gym, the whole workout was done in about 15 minutes (very little rest). 8/10

Workout Rating: A, Another solid arm workout! Although there wasn't much change from last week's workout (except for supersetting) the pump and burn from the weights was quite a bit more intense, just the way I want it.

Post Workout Musings: Although the workout was rushed, it turned out quite good. I'm actually very happy with the progress my arms are making, my tri's were always a strong point but my bi's although big just didn't have as much shape or definition. Progress is being made and I couldn't be happier about it!

Meh.....

Had a pretty unproductive leg workout last night, in reality my head and body just were not into it. I think I just mentally wiped myself out studying then when I finally decided to go to the gym "IT" just wasn't there if you know what I mean. No worries, just gotta push harder next time, however, tonight is chest, I'll be picking ~DD~ up around 9pm to go to the gym so that gives me a full 4.5 hours to rest up after work. I'm attempting 405 tonight, no matter what........ I'll be taking my camera as well to video this attempt, whether I get it or fail.

Sooo......did he get it?

**From Thursday night**
So even though there wasn't a single damn person at the gym who could give me a spot (just cardio bunnies not even a single little rat showing off for them) I decided to go for it anyway, without a spot

Cardio

30 minutes on the X-trainer, random hills, level 6 - kinda skated my butt off this morning as well, no real reason, just felt like skating the lines with the kids.

Energy Level: I excitement of going for a new max bench had my rev'd for the workout, 9/10

Workout Rating: B+, although pumped about the lift, I had spent so much time just waiting for someone to show up the could spot me, that my workout kind of dragged on a little, then I felt like I was trying to rush the rest of if to get it all done in a decent amount of time.

Post Workout Musings: I'm actually really happy with the lifts, if I had a spotter there with me I would've taken it right down to the chest, because I would have had that safe feeling. Anyway, the two attempts were good, and next week I'll try it again for sure, hoping that there's someone there to spot me.

Energy Level: Awesome energy level, I just felt rested today, even after being at the school and studying all day I just felt great, I must finally be over the cold that plagued me for a couple weeks. 9.5/10

Workout Rating: A+, needless to say, as you could probably tell from my enthusiasm above, everything just clicked today and I felt great. Not only the deads but even the rest of the workout was awesome!

Post-Workout Musings: So obviously I'm extremely happy with today's lift, and really this whole week in general. I didn't even use a weight belt for the 500 pull and it actually went up pretty damn easy!! I'll use my next post to explain some things as I don't want this one to become a book.

NOTE: today I took in some extra protein and fats by having a few hard boild eggs (4 to be exact) I used them instead of my second protein meal. Although that meal made me feel like sh*t it seems to have provided some extra energy (possibly??).

Water intake: I didn't keep track but I estimate it to be around 6L.

keep up the good work BPS! :D

How are the gains coming along? Im up 8-9 pounds. I checked like 3 days ago. Im hoping maybe to break 10 but it doesnt look like thats going to happen.

So why is this such big news for me? Well, let me give you some quick backgrounds, I've been lifting for a number of years now and focusing on BBing for almost four of those, in that time I've made some huge gains but having for all intents and purposes seen them completely stop within the last few months. My previous 1-rep max's for Bench Press and Deadlift, were 395 and 495 respectively (both when weightbelted). So now you're asking me why these new max's are such a big deal as they're really not that much more than I've previously lifted....the thing is those previous lifts were almost a year ago. I haven't even been able to repeat them for over 6 months!!!

When I started out this log I stated that if I could improve the "big 3" lifts that I would be calling this a major success...here we are less than half way through this and I've already acomplished 2 of those lifts (and this last one with relative ease). I'm not able to pinpoint if it's 1 of the supplements or if it's both in combination (which I think is more likely) but I truely believe that X-Factor and Mass FX is an unreal combination!!!!

Now that's the happier side of things, lets explore the negatives that I've experienced.......echo, echo....if you hear an echo you will have to understand that really THERE HAVEN'T BEEN ANY!?!? Previously I had mentioned that I was getting some wicked headaches but by simply keeping my water consumption constant over the weekends and weekdays, I have basically removed that side effect from occuring. I am not experiencing any issues from either product. Not even the excessive DOMS that people are reporting from X-Factor, sure I am sore and sometimes stiff, but excessively...I would have to say no, any soreness and stiffness I've experienced has only come after the days that I've pushed extra hard.

I was going to reserve this mini-review for the half way point, but thought that it would be prudent to post it now...I have some pics from when I started the log and will be taking pics at the half way point and end to show the visual progress. These will be posted at the end so as to not ruin any surprises.... :D

I'm actually up 4-5 pounds right now!?!? Obviously with my improvements in strength I'm thinking that most of that is actual muscle mass....we'll see how far this goes as I'm not even half-way through the log yet!?!?!

Workout Rating: B+, Just a solid workout, nothing really crazy here, my shoulders were a little stiff and sore due to the big week I had so I wasn't going crazy on anything.

Post-Workout Musings: Enjoyed the workout but it's really nothing to write home about, just one of those blue collar workouts that you all know and love.

So due to work, studying and hockey, I didn't workout on Monday or Tuesday, I got some cardio in playing a couple hockey games (for my own team) so I don't completely feel like crap. Tonight all I have to do is study so for sure I'll be getting in a big chest workout, hopefully someone is there that can provide me with a spot so I can go for the 405 again. We'll see what happens, I kinda wish I could workout right now because I'm feeling awesome at the moment, a day of mind-numbing work can sure change that though....

Once again I am very unimpressed with the gym I go to, since it has student workers they're closing early until after X-Mas, it actually closed an hour early last night, of course not knowing this beforehand I spent my time studying in the library and by the time I got to the gym they were only open for another 15 minutes. Since I hadn't lifted in 2 days I figured that I might as well just rip through a couple things to get a pump (no time to try for 1 rep max's).

Thanks for stopping by. I definately loving the X-Factor/Mass FX stack so far, not too sure about the bulk stuff as I've never tried it, I heard it tastes awful but it probably works just as well. I also really like deer, elk and moose. If you're going somewhat keto maybe consider some buffalo/bison, it's awesome on a keto diet. I know of some competitors in Quebec that even go so far as to eat horse, but that's a bit too exotic for me.

Legs and then study my butt off!!! Lab test tomorrow!!!

Yep, another day and some more studying....although we went to the gym first so that we could actually get a workout in, so all's good, other than I didn't have anything in the gym tonight, after a couple days off I was thinking that I would feel great but doing legs tonight did not feel good...

Energy Level: Not really any energy tonight, late nights and long days at work are catching up to me, but on the bright side I'm done my class next week so I'll have alot of free time to use to rest (can't wait!) 5/10

Workout Rating: C, probably one of the worst workouts I've had since I started this log, just didn't have it, although 3 sets of 10 at 315 isn't too shabby, I've come to expect more (especially the way things have been going so far).

Post Workout Musings: Well at least I got a good pump in my legs, I'm wondering if playing hockey the other night burnt my legs out more than I thought. Other than coaching I haven't played an actual game in over a year, so maybe that's what it was? Can't worry about too much just have to make it better next time. I've got a ton of stuff to do tomorrow night so I'll be getting my arm workout done in the morning before work (ugh!) Late night of studying tonight, early morning of arm workout tomorrow, nice way to start a weekend!

Water intake: 5.0 litres

Quickie Arms....

Quick arm workout last night, between working late, doing my final lab test, and coaching a hockey game I only had time for a short workout but it was still enough time to bust out some bi's and tri's!!

Cardio

No cardio, I had to rip out of there to get to the hockey game.

Energy Level: Energy wasn't too bad, I was in a rush so I didn't really even think about it too much I just got it done. Barely even took rests between sets. 8.5/10

Workout Rating: B+, decent but not great due to my limited time, although I did a couple less exercises I believe I got just as much of a pump and burn as previous workouts. Don't get me wrong, I wish I could've done more but was still happy with what I did.

Post Workout Musings: Nothing crazy to report, although I did alot of barbell curls (2 grips) and that really seemed to thrash my bi's so I was pretty happy with that, I still feel very strong and am liking where this is goind.

Cardio

30 Minutes on the X-trainer, random hill setting, level 6

Energy Level: Energy was top notch this morning! I must have slept well last night cause I was fired-up to lift this morning, we lifted early so we could spend the rest of the day studying. 9.5/10

Workout Rating: A+, again I couldn't ask anything more of this log as the increase in lifts has been nothing short of amazing for me. Even 515 seemed to be easy (maybe I'll bump it up again next week???) although there's only 15lbs more that I could load on the bar (that's all the olympic plates they have!!!)

Post-Workout Musings: Again, I'm extremely happy with this workout and this lift, again I've been able to push even further past my former limits and I have to give some recognition where it's due....the stack is simply AWESOME!! I recommend it to everyone, as a non-hormonal stack it's amazing!!

NOTE: Although last week when I set the new PR I had added some extra fats and protein through eggs, today I only had a protein shake before my workout (32g protein), that tells me that the extra eggs were not a factor last week.

Water intake: 2.0 so far, but I'm forecasting about 7.0 today.

Shoulders, Abs, Calves, Cardio - quite the morning workout!

Another morning workout today  as I'm back in the library studying again. I have a pretty busy week coming up so I want to get as much studying done today as possible, the library is open until 2am, hopefully I don't have to stay until then, but anything is possible.....

Cardio

30 Minutes on the X-trainer, random hill setting, level 6

Energy Level: I was actually really into this workout as well, these morning workouts have really given me a kick, lifting before the stresses of the day get to you seems to be really helping my energy levels out! 9/10

Workout Rating: A, I give this workout a high mark because the pump was intense, my abs were on fire, and I sweated like a pig on the x-trainer, couldn't ask for anything more in the workout.

Post-Workout Musings: I went back to the smith machine presses because I just don't feel the DB presses are doing it for my shoulders right now as I only have access to 60lbs DBs. It seems like I was burning out cardiovascularly before my delts are burning out so I've made the changeand now I can load some heavier weight on the presses. It worked well today we'll see how it goes next workout.

Supplements - so far...
1 X-Factor
1 Mass FX
- with breakfast

1 X-Factor
2 Mass Fx
- 1.5 hours later with pre-workout BCAA's.

Water intake: 2 litres so far, estimate 6 for the day while I'm studying.

515! :jaw:

Yessir! And I'm going to try load up all the weight next week!!! Hopefully there's no one else in the gym. :afro:

Great gains so far man. Keep up the good work. How much weight have you gained so far?

As for weight gain, I've put on about 4 pounds, I'm coming up on the 30 day mark pretty soon, so I actually consider that quite good. But it's the strength gains that have been really surprising so far!!! New max on Bench, 2 new max's on Dead lift.

:squat: It was a leg day tonight, had to coach a game but went straight to the gym after and now I'm in the library to study for a bit. Oddly enough the gym was actually busy tonight (stress relief for the students) so I had to make some adjustments, but I can barely walk now so I think it worked out well!!

Quad Extensions - used this as a warm-up/pre-exhaust as my knees were a little sore and stiff from the cold rink.

20@400
20@400

Stiff Leg Deadlifts

10@135
10@185
10@225

Cardio

20 Minutes on the reincumbant bike, random hills level 5, to burn out any lactic acid build-up and prevent excessive soreness/stiffness tomorrow.

Energy Level: Not quite where it was on the weekend but still quite decent as I had a pretty hectic day! Had enough to kill my quads so that's good....7/10

Workout Rating: B, actually a veryu quality workout, the couple changes I made managed to make a huge difference, the pump and burn was intense (got the good old in-voluntary spasms going - would've made Ben Stiller proud!)

Post Workout Musings: A took a step in the direction of regaining balance in the strengths of my legs, it has become painfully obvious to me that my right leg has been doing most of the work for my leg exercises so for the next little while I will be doing alot of uni-lateral stuff for legs, striving to regain strength equality.

Water intake: 5.5 litres
