Reminds me of my girl. She says there is no Italian food in Utah. Olive Garden is the McDonalds of Italian food.

And if the place says Restorante rather than Ristorante its garbage as well.

Olive Garden is great Italian food :toofunny:

Most chain restaurants are garbage when it comes to authentic food...

Compare Cuban food to Mexican. I have never tried it.

It's not hot spicy, but it is heavily spiced with cumin, garlic, onion. White rice and black beans are a staple. Some type of plaintain is also usually served: fried sweet, fried green tostones, fried green chips. Pork is predominant: lechon asado, pork chunks. Palomilla steak is a classic - thin pounded cube steak either seared or breaded and fried. And always a nice flan and cuban coffee for dessert.

they do have yucca tho, it helps make up for it. and fried plantains I think are different in the islands. more saffron, hmm what else is different.

theres one mexican restaurant near here where they ask you "arroz o harina" I think it is, my wife says "what" he repeats himself this happens three times, she says "in english dammit" he says "corn or flour" of course she says "what" again. I was worried I was going to get spit in mine.

Your wife is PR...she can't understand Mexican?

puerto ricans don't even understand the concept of trying to make food look attractive, but they can make it taste good (unless its my wife cooking it)
