I recently bought these out of the bargain bin at my local store. Same thing with the size...about a size and a half smaller than I normally wear.

discuss how cool i am
and they are size 10.5 when i normally wear 11-12
I bought a pair of Chucks 14 years ago, wore them for a day and threw them out.
Felt like my feet were being slapped everytime I'd take a step.
I wear Sketchers almost exclusively, except for my Cat work boots.
****s weak, straight up Air Jordans right here.
Naw but I've always seen people discuss how Chucks are clutch for foot placement and support when squatting and such. Does it really make that much of a difference? Is going barefoot with socks better (or does it have to be barefoot as not to loose traction?)
I used to deadlift bare footed. Laws of motion tell us about equal and opposite reactions, and when you have a squishy sole in your shoe, it will compress as you attempt to lift the bar.
It takes quite a bit to compress that material before you ever even start applying enough force to the bar to start it moving upward. Its like standing on a spring per se.
Barefooted however (or lifting shoes with a flat sole) you put those first 40-60lbs or what ever it is (or more) into moving the bar, not compressing the 'springs' you have on your feet.
Guys, Take a look at my bad boys:

- Titanium reinforcements - keeps my feet in and the air out (air has a catabolic effect)
- 1960s Style "Cowboy" clangy bits, let the newbies know that the gym aint big enough for the two of us
- Finally, they come with "Mountain Pine" Air Freshner to hang inside after a hard workout.
