My next pair of shoes will be Adidas, havent owned a pair since back when and I need some new gym shoes. These nikes I own are of the poorest quality ever. Soles are coming lose after only a year of use.

I lift in Nike Free 5.0's...

...no ankle support but the soles keep you planted. These are the closest things to lifting barefoot that I have found.

They are getting worn though and have lasted me about 2 years. I'm either gonna invest in some Chucks or get some of those moccasin's

I bought a pair of Chucks 14 years ago, wore them for a day and threw them out.
Felt like my feet were being slapped everytime I'd take a step.

I wear Sketchers almost exclusively, except for my Cat work boots.

yea my feet feel like that alittle, im gonna stick it out heard you gotta break them in alittle and im sure they will break in after a few weeks or owrkouts

****s weak, straight up Air Jordans right here.

Naw but I've always seen people discuss how Chucks are clutch for foot placement and support when squatting and such. Does it really make that much of a difference? Is going barefoot with socks better (or does it have to be barefoot as not to loose traction?)

I used to deadlift bare footed. Laws of motion tell us about equal and opposite reactions, and when you have a squishy sole in your shoe, it will compress as you attempt to lift the bar.

It takes quite a bit to compress that material before you ever even start applying enough force to the bar to start it moving upward. Its like standing on a spring per se.

Barefooted however (or lifting shoes with a flat sole) you put those first 40-60lbs or what ever it is (or more) into moving the bar, not compressing the 'springs' you have on your feet.
