might it be possible for a person to put themselves under those labels, yet still be miserable?

For one if you label yourself, you destined to be miserable. but even this positive life-style cats are probably miserable/bitter too.

It all comes down to the circle of influence.

Melancholy can come and go even as a Christian. Happiness is circumstantial, joy is not. If you ever read the Psalms, David is very dejected at the beginning of many of the Psalms; however, the more he realizes the blessings that God has given him as he writes, he becomes joyful by the end of the chapter.

So, the short answer is yes. When it becomes a pattern, then there is an issue.

what all comes down to circle of influence?

A persons emotions.

Too many people stress out over things they have no influence over. Take a look at Zombie. He has no influence on FedEX arriving, but yet he lets it consume him.

The problems all of us face fall in one of three areas: direct control (problems involving our own behavior); indirect control (problems involving other people's behavior); or no control (problems we can do nothing about, such as our past, or situational realities). A proactive approach is the first step to the solution of all three kinds of problems within our present Circle of Influence. Some people interpret proactive to mean pushy, aggressive, or insensitive, but that isn't the case at all. Proactive people are smart, they are value driven, they read reality, and they know what's needed. And they focus their efforts in the Circle of Influence. They work on the things they can do something about. The nature of their energy is positive, enlarging, and magnifying, causing their Circle of Influence to increase.

I thought by circle of influence you meant the total of direct relations you have with other people
makes sense now
yeah, Zombie is freaking out a little here

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA dude the migra came for real, i hear like a big ass diesel engine and i went out cause i thought it was the fedex truck but it was la migra :toofunny: i told them to move cause they might nlock the way for me to see the fedex truck

Sounds like a paraphrasing of the serenity prayer mixed with the Franklin-Covey stuff

God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
the courage to change the things I can;
and the wisdom to know the difference.

since I was so pissed off about the pizza, I went here to eat

and dropped $85 including tip on dinner. Damn was the duck in miso marinade good

watch out on the rage, I hear its ferocious. then again that means that probably you and I should toss a coin, and whoever wins takes both of our samples at the same time

That and the spending $85 bones for a meal.

hmm are you talking about the same radical muslims whose leaders use toilet bowls cast out of gold? and get carried around by slaves?

It was a good meal tho. Here in NYC the price are outrageous. I walked by a steakhouse checking the menu and a 14oz ribeye was $43 without sides, before tax or tip.

I hate ny, or at least being in ny while on a keto diet, and I can't recall what everyone else talked about since I was mostly at a conference

I get a $50 a day expense limit on meals.

heres the menu, you have to cook it yourself no less (little grill in the table)
