Yohimbine Caps vs. Yohimbine HCL Powder

I searched but really couldn't find the dosage or a great understanding of the differences between the two. Can someone who knows shed a bit of light on this?

Wondering what would be a good daily dosage if I was to get the Yohimbine Caps and the dosage for the Yohimbine HCL Powder?

Is there a difference between the two, one better than the other (as far as price/effectiveness ratio)?

caps are more convenient, but I really don't take that into play as i take a million and one powders as it is

Thanks

They are the same active ingredient of Y-hcl. One is capped with filler at 2.5mg/cap and the other is raw powder.

The caps are not only convenient but safer. Unless you have a scale and are good with making oral solution I advise that you refrain from using the powder.

Effective dosing is as follows: .1mg/lb of bw. This equates to 20mg for a 200lb individual.

Keep in mind that Y can have some adverse effects such as heart palpitations, anxiety and in extreme cases (overdose) hallucinations and or psychotic episodes.

It is advised to be cautious when using this.

I recommend 2.5mg caps 2-3 x per day to assess tolerance and then increase form there if needed.

It is also best used on and empty stomach or a carb free meal as insulin blunts the lypolitic effects of Y.

Brian knows what he is talking about here. I would overwhelmingly recommend tha capsules, as a YHCl overdose is EXTREMELY unpleasant.

Agreed. But I don't think the nutracaps have any filler, do they?

Yes, they do. 2.5 milligrams is a MINISCULE amount.

Good point, my mistake. :)

I've never actually dealt with bulk Y HCl before, as you can tell.

Thanks for the informative reply. One question, to make sure i am completely clear.

there are 100 caps in the bottle at 2.5 mg's giving you a total of 250mg at 8 bucks.

1 gram (1000 mg) of the powder is listed as $2.50. Would it take 4 bottles of caps to equal the same potency of the powder?

i can see where trying to get a daily dosage from the powder would be tough seeing that 1/4 tsp = 410 mg.

Other than making transdermals (and I have buttloads of experience in this situation) yohimbine powder scares me.

Correct. The process of capping such small amounts within legal tolerance is quite painstaking (and expensive).

Why are you scared of YHCL powder? Who cares if a little scooper is like 100 grams... just take it all like a man!!!

LOL (please dont try that... :p)

i bet.

Final question before I mull this over.

can you make an oral solution using water? And will the below ratio be good for weeks?

1/4 tsp = 410 mg

410 mg mixed in 41 or 82 ounces of water and refridgerate, leaving 1 ouce shots at 10 mg or 5 mg servings.

Yes, this is always an option. You can make any concentration and YHCl IS water soluble.

You can make an oral solution except YOUR 1/4tsp is not calibrated and could easily be 25-50% off resulting in a serious risk of overdose. DO NOT make a solution without at the very least a .01 scale or better. JMHO

EDIT: Unless of course you order 1g and drop it into 100ml of water. This assumes that NP is accurate in their dispensing of product...which is not in question.

i have measuring spoons including the 1/4 teaspoon. those can still be off by that much of a percentage if paid close attention and leveled off? or are you talking about eyeing it with a teaspoon?

Its not the spoon it is you. No offense. But you have no means to calibrate your scooping technique.

You need to order it by the gram so do so and do as I recommended. Again. Just my opinion.

no i understand. definitely something you need to be accurate about.

Oral solution is the easiest way. Like B said just drop 1 gm into 100 mL of water shake, and you will have 10mg of YCL per 1ml of water. One dropper full is 1ml. The caps are great but I take 20-25 mg a day and go through caps like water, the solution is a quicker and cheaper method IMO.

good idea, u dont need to keep it cold do u>?

sounds good to me, easier than capping maybe or weighing out .25 always

do u take .25mg a day or 2-3 times a day?

Well I guess you could even make it dissolve in a larger bottle (say 500ml), then take a shot of it each time, to avoid overdose?
