Mr. Olympia 2007

I'm going to check out the webcast. I was looking at the results and was quite surprised to see him not place in the top 10. Markus Ruhl didn't either, but that's not too big of a loss anyway. I looked up Toney's pics and he didn't quite look as conditioned as his previous shows he's won in the past. I had him up in the top 5.

They interviewed him. He got sick or something and knew it had happened so he wasn't surprised, but upset that things got screwed up at the last minute.

dont get me wrong i like david henry and think he adds something fresh to the ifbb,i just think this is a big man wins sport thats all....either way he did look great...his calves suck though....and there was prolly no one happier to be there,so thats cool as well.

im glad ruhl placed low...he sets a poor standard for the sport,that you need to be a freak to win.....he needs to go!

~plus he has no asthetics at all
 
Markus Ruhl is honestly a waste of a top 10 Olympia spot. His entire bodybuilding has been focus on muscle mass and not enough on asthetics.....not to mention his synthol filled delts.

I can't believe Dareem didn't place either. He looked better than Silvo IMHO.


The judging was jacked up this year.


Lol, I was watching the webcast of the finals....Ronny Rockel needs to try a new strategy. The music/posing he did was hilarious.

I think Vic is my new fav, just because he got robbed. Jay looked too blocky and Vic beat him out in every pose IMO. As for Ruhl, he needs to quit BBing.

Before the O, Gunter was my fav, mainly because of his height. The ability to be that big/that tall is CRAZY. His condition at the 05' O was incredible. I am not sure if he didn't qualify, but I think he chose not to compete. Don't quote me on that.

Hats off to Ronnie. I think he was in great shape for his last O, and I thought his placing was good enough for the road.

Henry is too short. Yes he looks sick, but he is honestly just too short.

Jay needs to be smacked for what he said in the interview after the show. "A bigger guy with better conditioning will always win." WTF!!!???

RUHL is just HUGE, and used to be one of my faves but seeing guys like Vic who are huge but aesthetically pleasing makes me appreciate Ruhl a little less. I was pulling for Big T all the way but one of my new faves is WOLF! However I like the way Toney said "I did my homework I just turned it in a little late."
 
The shows are a lot of politcs as well. Sure you can discredit Henry based on size, but Vic, Wolf, and Dex were all spot on and IMO better than Jay/Ronnie.


Last year Jay earned Mr. Olympia, this year I felt like they just gave it to him. I think most ppl can agree Vic came in better.

i agree with you here and that side chest callout says ALOT.
 
Wolf made a huge improvement. The guy is only going to get better. I think its a fact that he will be top 3 next olympia..but heath will be in so he might make some waves next year. Did you guys watch the other interviews on bb.com? Phil Heath's was a good one, the guy tells it like he sees it. check it out.

He will be a threat, you can count on that. That guy came in STRONG, and probably deserved Ronnie/Dexters place instead of 5th. Look back at the 05 O, when Gunter got 5th, look at the video, he was in amazing condition and should have placed better. Gunter even referred to this in one of the interviews.
 
i havent been able to find any truth behind it but my buddy swears that wolf placing 5th was a typo and that they came out with a public appology... like i said, i cant find anything to support that though
 
A few comments here:

A. I have been reading about Ruhl and synthol, say it aint so...
B. I agree that this was Victor's O but Jay got it. However in the future the top 5 could look like this
1. Victor
2. Wolf
3. Dexter
4. Heath
5. Melvin

Ruhl probably isn't the only one who uses synthol, but he makes it the most obvious, his delts look really messed up. An example of quality delts is Kevin Levrone.

The problem with Ruhls delts is that they have no striations. They're just big and round. Even Cutler with his basketball size delts have some shape and definition. Such a shame too because based on size alone Ruhl used to be one of my faves but now it's just a joke.
 
I remember seeing not too long ago a picture of King Kamali's delts. They look like they are full of synthol too, they resemble that octagon looking shape similar to Ruhl's.
 
Kamali is mad that he's never going to be a top bodybuilder and that guys like Phil Heath and Dennis Wolf who are newer to the game than he is are doing better.

Kamali, Titus, Rockel.....they are all second tier bodybuilders.

dennis james, gunter, branch, heath...all missing from this olympia but all guys i would like to see next year. heath said he is guarrenteed to be in next years o. (did i say that already)? I wonder what new guys will come up next year too.
 
Phil Heath has age to his advantage, I don't know if he can say that he 'will' be next Mr. Olympia, but he has a very good chance at it.

Trey Brewer in a few years will be Mr. Olympia too.
 
Branch, Dennis James, Kamali, Ruhl, Henry (unfortunately), Sergey Cheletov, and several others go to a lot of these shows, but will never win any really big show.

After awhile you begin to notice who 'really' has potential to be at the top, and who just will fall somewhere in the middle their entire careers.

Heath, Brewer, Wolf all have the potential to be the next thing.

I had the pleasure of standing next to Gunter a few years ago at my gym. Holy **** is that guy massive. Polite as hell too.

But seriously, when you're as big as Gunter you have no choice but to stand next to everybody.

ok, i found proof... on bb.com they are saying that it was a typo and they showed the official apology... dennis james instead of wolf
 
thats what i thought too but ive found on three different places that they are saying dennis was fifth... this cant be right
 
Dennis James wouldn't be able to be in the Olympia even if he wanted to. He didn't really compete in that many shows this year. I think for 2007 he competed in the New York Pro and Colorado Pro, that's it.


His stomach looks really messed up. It looks like some alien is trying to burst out when you see how his six pack looks like it is being 'stretched'.

I am simply stating an observation. Yes, I do pick up Muscular Development from time to time and read it. These types of things are inevitable and cannot be prevented.

I didn't state anything on 'sexuality' or specifically 'gay' that's your implication.
