This is more than a pulse beneath my wrist
or a beat beneath my ribs
this is something that cant be given away..
because what’s life for some is not right for some but either way we can overcome and not be killed by our own mistakes..
we can’t let this be our death..
because our differences will
be our expenses too relieve us and achieve something for us to believe..
we have been put up on the shelf
it’s such a sad day when we need to save each other from ourselves..
rest assured that with a heart that’s pure
we’ll be victorious and not let our hate get the best of us.

Nice message I will agree...too bad I can't understand him :head:

Raiders Week: Still Special to Me

This week, 55.9 percent of the 12,852 fans who voted on a DenverBroncos.com poll said that the team’s biggest division rival was the San Diego Chargers.

Even with the recent rise of the Chargers and the Raiders’ struggles in the four-plus seasons since qualifying for Super Bowl XXXVII, I was still a tad stunned by the results — particularly that less than a third of those who voted chose the Raiders.

Granted, these Internet polls aren’t exactly Zogby or Gallup; there’s no attempt to get a representative sample of fans.

Nevertheless, as a lifelong NFL observer, I’ve long believed Broncos-Raiders to be a rivalry that is in the Bears-Packers and Redskins-Cowboys class, one that transcends the teams’ records or place in the division table.

Contests in the series often made it to national television even when one team was lousy because such a storied rivalry can create storylines that overcome an apparent mismatch based upon records; one need look no further than last year, when NBC selected the teams’ October meeting in Denver for Sunday Night Football. (Of course, the network would have been better off picking the November meeting in Oakland that wasn’t decided until the final moments.)

The litmus test of a rivalry is whether it remains compelling in moments when one or both teams are down. North Carolina-Duke, for instance, witnessed not only one of the best games in the series, but one of the finest college basketball games ever played, when the Blue Devils were spiraling towards a last-place finish and their only losing season since 1983. Redskins-Cowboys saw one of its most memorable chapters come in the midst of Dallas’ 1-15 1989 season, when the Cowboys logged their solitary win in front of a packed but shocked house at RFK Stadium.

There’s plenty of evidence for the rivalry’s vitality in recent years, as well as its ability to yield unexpected results:

2006: Denver was 6-2; Oakland 2-6. But the Raiders led most of the way before finally succumbing late, 17-13.
2005: Oakland was 3-5 en route to 4-12; Denver was 6-2 and headed to 13-3. The Broncos won 31-17, but it’s easy to forget that the Raiders had a budding comeback in the fourth quarter, momentum on their side and could have pulled within one score early in the final period if Kirk Morrison held on to an errant Jake Plummer pass that was squarely in his grasp.
2004: Oakland was doomed for a 5-11 finish, but still beat the playoff-bound Broncos by rallying in the fourth quarter for a 25-24 win.
2001: Denver had been eliminated from the playoff picture when it hosted division-winning Oakland in the next-to-last game of the season, but the Broncos nevertheless prevailed, 23-17.
1999: The Broncos were winless; the Raiders 2-2. Denver won that tussle at Oakland, 16-13.
1997: Denver was 6-0 and en route to a world title. Oakland was 2-4 and headed for 4-12. The Raiders won in their home confines, 28-25.

And “Raider Hater” remains a common phrase in the Broncos fan lexicon, does it not? They certainly despise all things Bronco on their end. From going to McAfee Coliseum a few times and making a few anonymous, early pre-game strolls through the Black Hole, I know their fans’ blood hits 212 degrees with the sight of white horse logos on blue helmets.

I don’t know … perhaps I’m guilty of not changing with the times, but “Raiders Week” remains special to me. It conjures up memories of fiercely fought frays — both recent and in the distant past. It’s what made the NFL so compelling to me as a child … and what keeps it at the front of my sporting passions today.

It’s still the Broncos’ biggest rivalry to me. It’s not — and will never be — “just another game.”

What do you think? Am I just so hopelessly old-school that I’m clinging to a past paradigm that no longer exists? Feel free to reply below, and until next time, vaya con Dios

BRONCOS LOOK TO WIN EIGHTH CONSECUTIVE HOME OPENER SUNDAY VS. RAIDERS
The Denver Broncos (1-0) can set a franchise record by winning their eighth consecutive home opener on Sunday when they face the Oakland Raiders (0-1). Kickoff at INVESCO Field at Mile High is set for 2:15 p.m. MDT. Despite trailing for nearly the entire game in their season opener in Buffalo last week, the Broncos earned a 15-14 victory after Jason Elam made a 42-yard field goal as time expired. Denver posted its sixth-largest yardage differential (+286) since 1995 during its win against Buffalo and had a 300-yard passer (Jay Cutler), 100-yard rusher (Travis Henry) and 100-yard receiver (Javon Walker) in a season opener for only the second time in club annals. The Broncos, who lead the NFL in defense (184.0 ypg.) and rank second offensively (470.0 ypg.) through Week 1, face a Raiders team that lost its opening day contest by a 36-21 margin at home against the Lions. Oakland led 21-20 with less than eight minutes to play but could not hold on as Detroit scored on each of its final three possessions. Denver has won its last seven home openers, a streak that ties for the longest in club history. From 1975-81, the Broncos also were undefeated in their first home game of the season. Denver, which is 11-1 in home openers under Mike Shanahan, owns a 20-3 (.870) record in its first home game of the year since 1984. In addition to their success in home openers, the Broncos have enjoyed prosperity of late against the Raiders. Denver has won its last four games against Oakland, a streak that ties for its second longest in the 93-game regular-season series, and is 7-1 in its last eight games vs. the Raiders. In those eight contests, Denver has allowed an average of just 10.3 points per game. For his coaching career, Mike Shanahan owns a 19-5 (.792) record against Oakland and with a win on Sunday can join the Redskins’ Joe Gibbs (21 vs. Cardinals) as the only two active coaches with at least 20 regular-season wins against one opponent. The Broncos have won their last nine home games in the month of September, marking the longest such streak in the NFL. Denver also takes a 16-3 home divisional record since 2001 into Sunday’s game that ties for the best in the league during that period.

SHANAHAN IN HOME OPENERS

Denver has fared exceptionally well in home openers under Head Coach Mike Shanahan as the club boasts an 11-1 record in its first home game of the regular season during his tenure (1995-Present). Shanahan's .917 home-opener winning percentage ranks second all-time in club annals, trailing only Red Miller's 4-0 mark in those games from 1977-80. The Broncos are 20-3 (.870) in home openers since 1984 and are 27-5 (.845) in their first home game dating back to 1975. Denver, which has not lost a home opener at INVESCO Field at Mile High (6-0), enters Sunday’s game against Oakland having won its last seven home openers. That streak ties for the longest in club history (1975-81). Below is a look at the top records in home openers by Broncos head coaches.

Mike Shanahan, who had an 8-12 record as the Raiders’ head coach from 1988-89, owns a 19-5 (.792) career record against Oakland and on Sunday can join the Redskins’ Joe Gibbs as the only two active coaches in the NFL with at least 20 regular-season wins against a single opponent. DEFENSE CARRIES DENVER TO RECENT RAIDERS SUCCESS

The Broncos own a 7-1 record against the Raiders in the last four seasons, and their defense has played a major role in the club’s recent success against Oakland. Denver has allowed an average of 10.3 points per game to Oakland in those eight games since 2003, including three contests in which the Broncos yielded only a field goal. The club also has recorded at least two turnovers in seven of those eight contests and allowed an average of 66.1 rushing yards per game to Oakland since 2003, holding the Raiders to less than 100 yards on seven occasions.

FOUR-GAME WINNING STREAK VS. OAKLAND

The Broncos enter Sunday’s game with a four-game winning streak against the Raiders that ties for the second-longest in their 93-game series history against Oakland. Denver also won four games in a row against the Raiders from 1986-87 and from 1995-96. Denver’s current winning streak against the Raiders, which is its longest active streak against an AFC West foe, trails only the club’s seven-game string of consecutive victories against Oakland from 1997-2000.

BRONCOS AT HOME

Since moving into INVESCO Field at Mile High before the start of the 2001 season, the Broncos have compiled a 35-13 (.729) record at the stadium in regular-season action. Denver’s .729 winning percentage at INVESCO Field at Mile High is the fifth best in the NFL since 2001, and the club will look to improve that mark Sunday against the Raiders. The Broncos also own the league’s best home record with a 74-22 (.771) mark in Denver under Mike Shanahan (1995-Pres.).

HOME, SWEET HOME

The Broncos have amassed the NFL's best home record since 1974 in the regular season and postseason. Denver also has the most regular-season home victories in the league since 1974, and the most victories, regular and postseason, since 1974.

DENVER AT HOME VS. AFC WEST

The Broncos’ 16-3 (.842) regular-season record at home in divisional play since they began playing games at INVESCO Field at Mile High in 2001 ties for the best such mark in the NFL, and the club will look to improve that record on Sunday against AFC West foe Oakland. Under Head Coach Mike Shanahan (1995-Pres.), the Broncos own a 35-8 (.814) regular-season record at home in divisional play that also ties for best in the NFL during that period.

STARTING OFF RIGHT AT HOME

The Broncos have won their last nine home games in September in a streak that began with a 23-16 win over St. Louis on Sept. 8, 2002, in the Broncos' season opener at INVESCO Field at Mile High. Denver’s nine-game home winning streak in the month of September is the longest such streak in the NFL.

TOP YARDAGE DIFFERENTIALS SINCE 1995

The Broncos had a +286 yardage differential in their 15-14 season-opening win at Buffalo on Sept. 9, recording 470 yards of offense while allowing only 184 yards defensively. That differential ranks as the sixth best by the club in a game since 1995.

300-YARD PASSER, 100-YARD RUSHER AND 100-YARD RECEIVER ON OPENING DAY

For only the second time in club history, the Broncos had a 300-yard passer (Jay Cutler) along with a 100-yard rusher (Travis Henry) and a 100-yard receiver (Javon Walker) in their season opener (at Buf. on Sept. 9). The only other time this happened for Denver in a season opener was on Sept. 10, 2001, with Brian Griese, Terrell Davis and Rod Smith accomplishing the feat in the first-ever regular-season game at INVESCO Field at Mile High. Including all games, the last time Denver had a 300-yard passer with a 100-yard rusher and 100-yard receiver in the same game was against San Diego on Oct. 6, 2002, with Brian Griese (316 pass yds.), Clinton Portis (102 rush yds.) and Ed McCaffrey (113 rec. yds.).

CUTLER IMPRESSES IN SEASON OPENER

Quarterback Jay Cutler recorded the first 300-yard passing game of his career with 304 yards in Denver’s 15-14 season-opening victory in Buffalo on Sept. 9. His effort against the Bills saw the second-year passer complete 5-of-6 attempts for 54 yards and convert one third down and two fourth downs to drive the Broncos into position for a game-winning 42-yard field goal as time expired. Cutler’s 304 yards passing marked the eighth 300-yard game by a Bronco in a season opener.

HENRY GOES FOR 100 IN BRONCOS DEBUT

In his first game as a Bronco, running back Travis Henry totaled 139 yards on 23 carries (6.0 avg.) in the season opener at Buffalo on Sept. 9 to become only the third player in club history to reach the 100-yard rushing mark in his first game in a Denver uniform. Gaston Green (1991) and Joe Dudek (1987), who was a replacement player, also accomplished this feat. Henry’s 139 rushing yards also were the most by a Bronco in his first game with the club. In addition, Henry’s 139 rushing yards marked the second most by a Bronco in a season opener in franchise history.

WALKER NOTCHES IMPRESSIVE OPENING OUTPUT

Wide receiver Javon Walker tied for the eighth-highest receiving yardage total by a Bronco in a season opener with 119 yards on nine catches against the Bills on Sept. 9. Walker was a key part of Denver’s game-winning field goal drive, catching four passes for 51 yards on either third or fourth down (3rd down: 3-43 / 4th down: 1- 8).

Friday analysis - McLaren-Ferrari returns to the track

Invalid Link Removed
Ferrari were fastest in practice on Friday morning, McLaren in the afternoon, but in truth there is very little to choose between the two bitterly divided teams thus far during the Belgian Grand Prix weekend.

The silver cars set the fastest times overall, 1m 46.654s for Fernando Alonso, 1m 46.765s for Lewis Hamilton. The former said he was very happy with the way all of his set-up work had gone; the latter said he kept getting traffic on his quick laps, and when he finally got a good one in right at the end, a slight dose of oversteer in Turn Eight prevented him beating Alonso’s time.

Felipe Massa was third on 1m 46.953s, Kimi Raikkonen fourth on 1m 47.166s which fractionally improved his fastest time from the morning. In that session the Brazilian lost control of his Ferrari at Rivage and slid lightly into head-on contact with the outer tyre wall; he blamed pushing too hard on cold tyres.

In the afternoon Massa said he was quite content with the work he’d been able to do, but Raikkonen felt his F2007 lacked the poise it had shown in the morning.

The afternoon proved to be good for Toyota, with Jarno Trulli fifth on 1m 47.491s and Ralf Schumacher sixth on 1m 47.946s. Neither had any particular problems and they were able to pick up where they left off during the test here in July.

Renault had mixed fortunes. Giancarlo Fisichella was seventh on 1m 48.088s and Heikki Kovalainen 10th on 1m 48.567s. Fisichella said he thought Renault’s situation was “getting better and better,” but Kovalainen met traffic on his best lap and didn’t think his time was fully representative.

Mark Webber got in a decent lap of 1m 48.271s for Red Bull in the afternoon, after struggling with set-up on his RB3 in the morning. He thought the car better in the second session, but simply not fast enough. David Coulthard got down to 1m 48.883s for 13th fastest time in the afternoon, before a hydraulic failure left him without power steering or gearshift actuation and obliged him to park at Eau Rouge.

The BMW Saubers were fourth (Nick Heidfeld) and sixth (Robert Kubica) in the morning, but dropped to ninth and 11th respectively in the afternoon, when the Pole lapped in 1m 48.279s and the German 1m 48.606s. Neither was satisfied with the feel and balance of their F1.07s, and were frustrated that they had lost the poise they exhibited when they were very quick in the July test here.

Williams had Nico Rosberg and Alex Wurz fourth and seventh in the morning, but only 12th and 16th in the afternoon. The FW29 had been tricky here in the test, and after the recent upbeat runs in Istanbul and Monza they were disappointed to find that the cars were still a handful here.

Honda had a fillip when Jenson Button made the top 10 this morning, but the Englishman dropped to 14th in the afternoon despite improving to 1m 48.919s. Rubens Barrichello was 15th on 1m 49.364s. They ran through the usual gamut of things before concluding that the RA107 simply wasn’t quick enough.

Sakon Yamamoto was Spyker’s star this afternoon, with a lap of 1m 49.697s which left him 17th, ahead of the Toro Rossos and the Super Aguris. He found the B-spec F8-VII a big step forward from the A-spec car, and was happier than team mate Adrian Sutil who was only 20th on 1m 50.399s as he complained of problems obtaining a good handling balance and spent his time yawing between understeer and oversteer.

Sebastian Vettel set the pace for Toro Rosso after Tonio Liuzzi slid off the road at Rivage in the morning, and again, with 1m 49.720s when the Italian’s engine dropped a valve after nine laps and left him on 1m 50.865s. They were 18th and 22nd respectively.

Neither of the Super Aguri drivers was happy, each struggling to balance their SA07. Takuma Sato was 19th on 1m 50.188s, Anthony Davidson 21st on 1m 50.642s.

The good part about that is you get a bed to yourself and can sleep better without being disrupted by any tossing/turning.
I would still trade my good night's rest for the action, though.

I have to share my bed. I get no action and I get sh1tty sleep. Why else would I be so miffed?

maybe you could use the same strategy on your woman
after you are done, you give them money, but you tell them it's so they can go out and buy some shoes or something,
but really you are turning them into a hooker as you get at least a few hours to peacefully nap in solitude.
