I felt like despite training hard this morning, I was still lacking. So, I worked my sprints from 7 up to 9.2 mph for 1 min intervals! Total time was 35 mins. Talk about maxing your hr out!!!!!!! Woah!!

I had about 10-12 mins extra so I did a few extras on back

2 sets of 9 chin-ups
2 sets of 4 pull ups

Stretchers
100x8x4
Seated row
100x6
120x6
130x5
140x5
85x12
You sure you are a woman?

Damn fine work out right there!!!

Deads in the near future I hope!!! :D
You might have to add some in. During this 12 week run he doesn't do deads but 2-3 weeks, and Reeves deads twice.

By the looks of Simons log it looks like there may be more dead lifts in Reactive Pump. I'm looking forward to that routine myself.

Over the last year there hasn't been a single month that I haven't learned something new. I don't think that'll ever change.

That is probably my favorite thing about John Meadows programs!

Lol that's not old though!...ehh I've found the more I train the less it bothers me- or at least I'm distracted by other soreness! ;) Arthritis is no joke though especially needing a knee replacement! My hubby can feel for you on that one!

Geese that's a killer back routine!!! I know lot of 18 yrs in my gym couldn't hang with you at all. Nice work.

Happy Monday guys and gals! Back to the gym this morning! Yay!!! We had a busy but great weekend being kid-less! Miss them like crazy though so I'm definitely looking forward to seeing them next Saturday! MD week 2 today(and a little extra! Lol)...love the exercises with this program. Surprisingly, I left the gym today with energy left over- not sure if it's changing the program and having less volume or the MacaPro giving me more endurance...maybe a combo of the both! It was an awesome workout though HR average was well over 120 even with my stretching afterwards bc I forgot to turn it off. Lol Back feels nice and shaky! I was able to do the meadow rows today without pain in my lower back! Happy about that as well! :)

Meadow rows
20x8
30x8
40x8
50x8
60x8

SS with 1 min planks 4 sets

Wide pull downs - hands brought closer w/ each set
100x10
105x10
120x10

SS with vbar cable crunches
47.5x20
50x15
57.5x12x2

Seated row with single handles
47.5x10
50x10
55x10

One arm lat pulldown- all reps on 1 side then the other( I held the weight in the opposing hand the whole set)
50x8
55x8
60x8

SS
Dickersons w/ wide bar and stretch
42.5x12

Stretchers 85x12--all pulldown cables were taken so I didn't add anymore in after my last set. Stretched instead.

I will do some HIIT at lunch! :) I hope everyone has an awesome Monday!!

I've been playing lately with a total rep routine. It's actually pretty effective. You set a total rep goal for each lift (I use 25 reps) and hit it in as many sets as you choose with weight set roughly at 6-8 rep max. Seems like a good adjunct to use at times. I don't do it the same way they discuss in t-nation; I add a drop set to each exercise and do it immediately after the last set and drop 15-20% rather than 5-10%.

On another note, dermastrength seems really f-ing legit.

I speak with some FINAFLEX customers who call in, as I handle all product related questions..
had this 80y/o gent who was taking our PX fat-burner (he wanted the "mood enhancement" benefit that is advertised)..guy made it a point to tell me he does 100 sit-ups every day :D

in all seriousness, I dig the older crowd who are still hitting it, taking pride in their physical fitness and striving to do better
it is so refreshing!

Happy Tuesday guys and gals! Back is a nice sore this morning! :) Today was chest/shoulders! Talk about wanting to scream, cry, fall on the floor... Hahaha my upper body is totally done now!!! Not sure if it was because I didn't get to sleep until 12 due to a little "misunderstanding" with my Mom or just because my chest got so sore last week but endurance wasn't there today. Only 1 girl training with me today.

Nautilus incline (plate loaded)
15x10
20x10
30x12
40x10
45x8
50x2, 45x2, 35x6-had to drop it to get the reps

Slight decline DB bench- these were very hard to get into position on- friend could only lift one. So I sat down with one and she handed me the other. Got a little noisy on some of these. Lol
35x6
45x6
45x8
45x8
45x8
45x8

Incline BB bench (1" from chest/no lockout) SS w/ band stretchers
75x8
75x8
75x8
75x8

Machine lateral raises (8 w/ friend pushing down and 8 reg)*** I have never liked this machine! My traps participate too much which irritates my fibro so these were kept light to keep focus on delts
10x16
15x16
15x16
15x16

SS w/ band stretchers

Rear delt machine SS w/ band stretchers
55x25
60x25
60x25
55x25

BB over and backs SS w/ band stretchers
30x12
30x7,4,2....couldn't get all 12 without stopping

Not sure how I will lift my arms to work on patients today! Lol

Hubby's going out of town today through Thursday so I will do cardio tonight after work and tomorrow morning! :) Have a wonderful day everyone!!

The main differences I noticed were that you were doing a pretty high amount of weight for a lot more reps than usual. I'm not a power lifter so I don't normally lift that many reps at my 8 RM or above and when I did chest yesterday I did 25 reps in 4 sets each with DB incline and flat at 160 and DB pullovers in 3 sets at 125, followed by hammer strength plate loaded incline. it was pretty insane. Def feeling it today and I'm very rarely sore after chest.

Just read up on this seems like something I would like to try.

Thank you! Yes they were killer!!!!! My shoulders haven't stopped hurting yet! Lol I'm expecting to wake up to some killer delts tomorrow morning!! ;)

Took a nap at lunch today...having trouble getting enough calories in again! Ugh! Gonna have a big dinner I guess! I'm about 600 under my goal. Been getting nauseous- not sure if it's my thyroid! When my levels go crazy I get this way.

Cardio selection for today was the stair climber! Oh how I hate you stair climber! Lol 30 mins on level 9...had to mop up after myself. Cooled off with 10 mins of walking on the treadmill and some yoga to stretch things out! This song came on and it's another one of my fav training songs! It's definitely words I have said when frustrated! :)

Happy hump day! ;) Went to bed about 10:15 last night! Didn't really sleep much but I think it's just because I'm alone! Lol Got to get up and go to the gym today though! Yay! Wore a hoodie and sweat like a banchee! Haha

Fasted cardio
15 mins on treadmill / 30 mins on the ski machine

Followed up with 13 sets of ab work- first time in over a month I've been able to bend enough to do these! :D
Tri set
Lying leg raises with rev crunch 15,12,12
Sit ups with feet elevated 15,12,12
Plank 1 min x3

SS
Hanging knee raises (from pull-up bar) 20,15,15,15
Cable vbar crunches
50x20, 57.5x15, 50x20

I'm gonna play with the dosing of the MacaPro. I think it may be bothering my stomach a bit. Dosed 1 pill last night but skipping the morning dose for a few days to see if it helps! :)
