2nd cycle quick question

What's good fellas, just started my second cycle 2 weeks ago things are going good so far. My question is, I'm definitely not fat but also far from lean so I was wondering since I'm in a small deficit on 500 mg of test per week am I spinning my wheels by not getting the full use of the test? Or can I successfully run the cycle and use the test to hold my muscle mass. Thanks in advance.

500 will be enough but I'm wondering if I'm just wasting gear using 500 when 250 could do the same thing since I'm in a deficit.
