Got a bottle of Evomuse Nerve Restore ( http://www.nutraplanet.com/product/evomuse/nerve-restore-90-capsules.html ) my rep package last night, having been waiting to try this. Here is my disclaimer: If you did not know, I am an Evomuse rep. However, I still believe I can be objective based on what I am looking to get out this. Let's start with an over view of how I ended up in this place.
About a year ago, I was returning from a roughly 6 month medical leave My experience left me with what the Doctors say is neurological damage and compromised blood flow in my left leg. During this process I dropped from a solid 270 to a much weaker 243 while sitting in a hospital bed for 22 days. That was 27 pounds of time in the squat rack and dead lifts and rows.....you get the idea, this was not a weight loss strategy I favored. I kind of let the diet go to hell sitting around the house being bored and restricted on activity and shot back up around 290, so that is about a 47 pound swing of fat gain. Although the weight will not be the focus of this log, I must confess it took me damn near a year to get my groove back as far as proper mind set about training and diet and have capped the weight gain at an embarrassing 315 but have dropped 10 to 305 in the last 3 weeks.
From a functional perspective, I have weakness and some atrophy primarily in my calf (inner head) and hamstring in my left leg and to a lesser extent my left quad. I can calf raise myself with just my right leg but not the left. Lying Hamstring Curls are pretty weak with the left leg and Leg Extensions also, so these will be my primary focus. I am also prone to some cramping with lower body work but this is getting better as my body has started to develop ancillary veins to work around my blockages. I can still ride bike for cardio and have been doing so consistently 3x/wk over the last two weeks (come on spring, want to ride a real bicycle).
I am running a 4 day split with Wave Ladder Training at it's core, usually a 3/2/1 scheme, centered on Deads, Bench, Squat (to bench) and OH BB Press. Heaviest sets for these have been 280x3/2/1 for deads, 290x3 for Bench Squat, 235x3/2/1 for Bench and 155x3/2/1 for OH BB Presses. Rehab left leg isolation work has been Lying Leg Curls 20lbx8, seated calf raise 45x20, seated DB Calf raise 30x30 Diet will be loosely based on IF but I cannot pound a 250-350 grams a protein a day due to early stage Kidney damage and often feed from 12-9:30 p.m. Because I often do not get home till 7:30 or later after only having lunch, targeting around 2400cals/day.. I will continue to use Evomuse CardoTryx and Defuse to help with continued weight loss (plus some of the ingredients in CardoTryx have been shown to aid in growth of blood vessesls). I will also use PES Enhanced for PWO as well as either PES Amino IV or Purple Wrath inter workout.
Tonight my calves measured 16.25in left and 17.75in right (will post a pic of both for visual comparison later.)
Here is what I am hoping to get out of this (key word is HOPING) Reduced Neuropathic pain in my left foot, overall increase in strength as well as in lower body work and measurable growth in the left calf.
Let's rock this!
