And Im not emmbarased to admit I have that song on my I-pod.
OK well, maybe a little bit.

Funny thing was that ten years later Marky Mark re-did that song 70's style for "Boogie nights."

Well you "Embraced the true nature of your spark", and gave up your evil ways. Optimus would be proud. "Till all are one!"

bahhh. but that's not the topic at hand. if the transformers movie ever goes through.... i'm gonna watch it a couple of times for sure.

Unless your breaking hearts purposely and lying or soliciting underage girls then how unethical could it be? Im sure Optimus had his share of fem-bot after-burner. Lol.

Well heres to you Unicron.... I have the friggin soundtrack on cd. Like it or not that soundtrack had some pretty good rock and roll tunes on it. Even White Lion's remake of the Transformers theme was good.

My personal fav Optimus quote:
"You, who are without mercy..... now pleads for it. I thought you where made of sterner stuff."

Those instrumental pieces by Vince DiCola (the rock ones w/ the synth stuff and no singing) were cool too. I feel corny when I listen to it, but what can I say man, I like it. (Wich describes my feelings on ALOT of 80's rock and metal.) Lol.

BTW, I have all the OG episodes, all the Beast Wars, all the Beast Machines, most of the original comics, the movie, the soundtrack, etc. And have had them all for some time now. Being 6ft 4" and 245lbs+ seems to allow me to conceal my nerdlyness to a degree.........JK

they ruined my favorite female character (rogue)..... i hope she gets less pussy next time around. they also left out my favorite male...gambit, other than those two things, it was great

oh..... did you all see that man woman mutant......ew......

hey unicron: i had the wierdest dream last night. you remember the very very first transformer cartoon episode. when wheeljack and some other dude were collecting energon cubes on cybertron? i had this dream i was wheeljack. if you watched that episode, he was drawn differently....they changed his looks in subsequent episodes.

and for some reason there was a mirror somewhere in the dream, and i saw myself in the mirror. and that's how i knew i was wheeljack. you know how dreams are..... but that was refreshing.......never had a dream about transformers period.

i did not like this movie at all they kill off 3 of the main characters and rouge looses her powers and what happen to gampit this movie disapointed me

wow, that is pretty wild bro. Yeah I remember the first episode, and how weeljack, bumblebee, and the decepticon jets had different transform modes and everything. Weeljack was always the inventor. He once put their human friend Spike's brain in a mixed up robot body, and built an immobilizer ray, and some other stuff. Too bad he got iced by Megatron and Starscream in TF's the movie. I cant remember any TF dreams, but Im sure they must have been involved in at least one of them, I just cant remember any.

btw, do all transformer fans hate G.I. Joe, or is that only me?

I didnt hate GI Joe, but it did take me a long time to warm up to them. That being said I think Omega Supreme could have taken out GI Joe AND Cobra single handedly. Remember the time in TF's season 3 when Cobra commander stole the bodies of Rodimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, Springer, and Arcee and put their minds in human bodies? That was messed up. But the human version of Arcee had a pretty sweet azz for a cartoon chick.

starscreen rocks....he is sooo bad. an ass when he's up, and a beggar when the tables turn...... i really have a lot to learn from him. bwahahahaa

....tell you the truth mate, i have absolutely no recollection of GI joe & transformers mixing it up..........hmmmm. maybe i took a year off or something....... hmmmmm. sad. and to think i am a fan............:whiner:

damn. i'm not a fan of gambit. but i would love to see an individual movie all to himself. hey..............though he's not #1 big ticket, like a DD or spiderman, but if they could do it with spawn and vendetta, they could do it for gambit.

that would really be cool..........

Saw it last night..was pretty let down by the piss poor dialogue, stupid battle scenes, the character kill off, not following the Phoenix saga as I remember it and they even changed the soundtrack/score to something totally cheesey.

DId you see the Beast Wars episode where his spark possesed waspinator? (its set 300 years after the "starscream's ghost" episode from season 3 of original TF's.) He helps the Predacons take over the Maximal base and tries to betray Megatron (descendant of the original Megatron/Galvatron) And Megatron smoked his ass.

oh no...........we're growing apart man!!

sorry dude, i hate the beast wars. right around the point megatron became galvatron my brain was like "errrrrrrr. this is getting strange". and then optimus dies yet lives, but dies but is really alive "my brain was like.....errrrr. girls are better man. i don't need this".

i liked it alot maybe not as good as the first two but the ending was good when magneto was playing chess it made you wonder.....but still its always hard to follow up with a good finisher when the first two were so good.

I didnt have any girls interested in me till I was like 17 anyway. the whole Galvatron/return of Optimus and later the intro to headmasters series took place in the late 80's ending the seiries in 1990 or 91. I was only like 13 or 14 and had no prospective girlfriends. Actually alot of the stuff I got back into after the fact and then got up to date by watching all the stuff I had missed. I can see how TF's the movie could have traumatized and confused alot of kids into abbandoning the series.
But the 5 episodes the outlined the aftermath of the movie "5 faces of darkness parts 1-5" were some of the most awesome episodes they ever did IMO. They had the return of Galvatron and he was more bad ass in those 5 episodes than he was at any other time period. They had a history lesson when Rodimus prime enters the Matrix and talks to Optimus and other past leaders from the past 11 million years. And best of all, they had the fight of the century when the two giants Metroplex and Trypticon fought. (each one was the size of a major metropolis, and they both transformed into cities.) That was the shizzle. They would tear mountains out of the ground and throw them at eachother.:head:

i do remember 5 faces of darkness though!! i do agree it was great. even though i liked the original megatron more. but you said it all when you say "traumatized and confused a lot of kids into abandoning the series". i, obvioulsy felt confused. and since we are the same age, that means when i was 13-14, you were the same-------> see? didn't i tell you i was a horney bastard?

anyways, it would be so awesome, if one of those cable channels would just show the original series with some stability. something like a one hour back to back episode monday - friday would make it easy to follow.

cuz you know how it was with new episodes - once a week. playing with kids in the gym after school and that would be it - kaput!

it did get pretty awesome near the end i do recall. (and i really am recalling deep. the last time i saw a transformer cartoon was probably at least 7 years ago) with all those 5 in 1 and 6 in 1 robots going at it, it was so hectic, i just wish those episodes were longer.......... it was so painful to watch a 17 minute episode (minus commercials). it's just not worth it. you know what i mean? at least watching the pistons and cavs and getttting alllllllllllll worked up brought at least 2.5-3.5 hours of action per game.

Not using Brian Singer as the director is the most obvious problem. Changing the sound score was not needed as the original was great. It was an OK movie, but it pales in comparison to the first 2 and I feel they tried to rest on their laurels with this one. YES, I love seeing the Xmen, but after they set the bar so high with the first two, they should have stuck to their winning formula.

Maybe cartoon network(adult swim) could pick it up. If they can make room for that Mr.T cartoon from the 80's then they ought to be able to find a place for TF'S G1. But they allready have TF's "Cybertron", wich comes on too early in the morning for me. I've watched it once or twice and I didnt think it was too bad. But hard to follow when it's in the middle of a thick plot. (I guess each episode is chronicologically linked to the next, as were the last 10 years of TF generations.)
BTW they original's are available on DVD (all 90 something episodes)
I have them. But I had them on VHS way before that.

I wouldnt mind if cartoon net brought back the X-Men cartoons from the late 90's/early 2000's. I have a few episodes on DVD, but theyre not in any particular order.

I dont know who the composer was for X3, but I did notice that he used at least one of the (what we music school nerds call) "Motive's", or "Motif's" from one of Michael Kamen's original theme's from the first two movies, but it was developed differently and goes by pretty fast. Michael Kamen is a pretty tough act to follow though, he is/was the bomb when it comes to action films. (Die Hard 1-?, Three Muskateers, X-Men, Robin Hood prince of thieves etc.) I heard a rumor that he died a couple years ago. Not really sure the source knew what they were talking about though.

I think they should have stuck w/ Bryan Singer though, it was a little impersonal. He just storms in there and kills off a bunch of main characters, and takes powers from some others.
I did enjoy it though, and I was moved by some parts. And being that we are on the forefront of gene manipulating technology in our world, the theme of having a "cure for mutants" that targets and antagonizes the mutant gene was a good idea for a plot.

The overall storyline was good..sort of an homage to Hitler's "Final Solution" that then forces the hand of the world's mutant population. I liked the homage to Nimrod in the simulation room...foreshadowing perhaps?

And did you get a load of the technique they used to destroy the simulated Nimrod? They used to call that move "Fast ball special" if I remember correctly. (Collosus throwing Wolverine w/ his claws out). They even had that move worked out in the Marvel roll playing game. (basically DnD except w/ Marvel guys.) It would be up to Collosus and his aim to hit, and it would add + a certain number of column shifts for damage w/ Wolverines claws. It was kick ass.
