I've noticed since I've started using wrist wraps my lifts have gone up I don't know if it's because the extra support or it's that if you have these wraps on in your head you think your able to lift more anyone feel the same way?
Well, if it's helping brace your wrist in an optimal position, thus helping your technique, then yeah I'd say they're doing something. It could very well be mental, too.
