Worst feeling ever

I can't stand it when I'm bulking and get sick. It's the worst feeling ever, you know you have to eat but can't!

I try to eat as much as i can but it's so damn hard. How will this effect my gains?

I don't seem to get to full when eating steak and fish, try that! just find stuff that doesn't make you feel full, make sure its packed full of goodness though!

I'd look to prevent getting sick again.

Cod liver oil instead of fish oil is one good way to do that because of the vitamins A and D. This alone in higher doses might help prevent sickness.

Watching carb/sugar intake is also important as spikes can reduce immune function. Learning to deal with stress and getting good quality and enough sleep is also key.

are you feeling sick because of the amount of food you are eating, or you are physically sick from a cold or virus? If you are physically sick, rest and plenty of fluids is the best thing for you...try and choke down MRP shakes to keep some fuel in your tank... I would worry about lifting last and worry about getting better first.

I just got over the stomache bug, both of my kids had it. I was on a great weightgaining course prior to that as I am a hardgainer. It only took one week of the virus to set me back. One step forward and two steps back. I guess thats what separates the one who do from the ones who dont though.

dude, dont let it get you down. I broke my arm a few years ago and was set back and lost YEARS of hard work... got back from it, and then lost almost everything again from a shoulder surgery.. coming back and being determined is what separates the men from the boys.

Keep pumping the iron and keep your nose to the grind.. hard work pays off, I'm living proof of that.

worst thing ever is depression over a broken heart =p, maybe you just need to get used to that many cals and food

I just got over the flu. Not bulking, but to meet dietary requirements I made alot of smoothies. Oats, bananas, protein, evoo, flax, milk, berries. They don't require ant effort to make or consume. Great for when you feel like utter sh*t. Being sick can have it's benefits when cutting, because you can't really eat and your body is in a natural state of thermogenesis, its a freebie.

How often do you get sick? I usually catch some kind of virus maybe once or twice a year (thankfully), and I use this sick time to take a break from the gym and supplementation. We all know that mentally it is hard to stop lifting, but when you feel like crap you arent getting any gains. If you dont get sick often use the time as a break and muscle memory will be your best friend when you get back... and your cholesterol levels will prob be back to normal too. I recently took 2 months off to work more (which sucked) and I was back up to my ideal weight and strength in 2 weeks.

The stomach bug is very contagious and it seems to run through houses rampant. Each year it gets a little bit worse too, I have seen people actually pass out from it. I dont think any prevention can help with avoiding it.

As far as other viruses are concerned I've noticed through out the years that heavy supplementation (creatine, NO2, protein, and an MVI) actually makes my immune system crap out occasionally. Maybe this is one of the precursers to you getting sick.
