Recently I have become very intrigued by the possibility of becoming basiclly a stud for my wife while deployed, but while doing research for possible supplements and vitamins to take to get my body going I have come across one common denominator for all this stuff. Theres always a downside to this stuff according to one person or another on here. For example:

Novedex XT- Boosts testosterone levels, blocks formation of estrogen. It doesn't tell you that it causes acne, loss of hair, couldn't even tell you how it really combats gyno, and messes with your joints.

Fish oil- excellent source of vitamin A, high in source for Omega 3 fatty acids, helps burn bad fat in body, they don't tell you about fishy odor bad breath....upset stomach....diarrhea and blood thinning. I even read about possibilty of lowering sperm count/sterile possibilities.

And just to add another there is always the comments of "Well if your taking certain supplements, they may overstimulate your body effecting your libido and then boom all the sudden you have no sex drive" just the fact that i have to be careful of what supplements i put in my body because they may affect my sex drive or for that matter affect my testes, sperm count or anything else that deals with my manhood really scares me.

I have just given a couple small examples of vitamins and supplements that i've seen that i wanted to take but did further research and found many side effects. I know this may be long but im trying to let people know I care about this topic and want to get in shape but Im scared to put just about anything into my body. Ensight to this topic would be great. Thank you to all who atleast read this thread.

Unfortunately, with any supplement there will be people with "research" to say that it causes problems. I have been using many of those supplements for years, and am healthier and in better physical condition than I have ever been. People who will tell you that supplements will hurt you are probably the same ones who say that milk causes cancer and other ridiculous things of that nature.

I'll try to answer your question the way I see it. Everything you swallow causes your body to react a certain way. For example, water. Too much can kill you. Every supplement that you take has to be researched, and as I can see, you are doing great research on what are your possibilities, instead of reading an ad, and buying the product. Thumbs up for that. You have to outline the benefits vs. side effects and see if it's what you need.

Let's say you want to take an aromatase inhibitor, and you have difficulty walking because of pain in your knees. Maybe you should consider something else.. Well, if you're fine, you might want to give it a shot. Don't forget that hair loss etc.. is due to the increase in testosterone, and are side effects of increased test, not Novedex XT.

Also, side effects are not happening all the time, and not to everyone. If you take fish oil, and get diharea, you are the first one I heard that this has happened. Fish oil is a good supp, if you don't abuse it, like anything else.

The important in here is that you really have to know what you do when you use supplements.

First what exacly are your goals
-bulk up; and more mass
-lose fat
-recomp
Nolvedex xt- anything that affects your hormonal level will have some sides to it.

As for fish oil it is somewhat "overdosed" by a lot of people which will hault muscle gains and "suposibly" some others, but at regular dosage it is a very healthy addition.

Like anything, if the supplements are abused, problems may result. I agree with what jjohn said, even too much water is bad. As long as you're paying attention to what you're taking and how much, supplementing with things like fish oils and vitamins is an excellent idea

Well I guess like anything else nowadays, chances are no matter what you take it probably causes cancer.....thanks for all the input, it really does help. I will continue to do my research, as for those supplements, I don't know if I necessarily even need to take something like novedex xt, I mean Im 25 still get morning wood, never have a problem with the wife so I guess the test is still there but I suppose with a good multi-vit and yes I think i will try the fish oil, that might just do the trick. Well see.....thanks again.

If you don't feel like you need the novedex, try going without it for a while and see how things go. Maybe some good creatine or something instead of the test booster

Be Careful. Remember Bullets cause Lead Poisoning. I wouldn't really worry about supp's. You come home and She'll take care of your worries.

live thats a good idea maybe i'll just do that and bama you definetly right on that one, she'll take care of me no matter what as long as i come home alive and in one piece
