Why proprietary when you can calculate it in Select protein, PES ?

Hello,
You all know that Select protein is 50/50 whey casein,
And it is from MPI (90% or 85%) and WPC (80%) .
Using simple math you can calculate how much MPI and from there you can know how much WPC-80 is in it.

Why keep it proprietary PES ? Just wondering :)

Thanks

It's not 50/50 MPI/WPC.....it's a mix of MPI/WPC and Leucine Peptides.

The complete protein is built from MPI and WPC, they state in their brochure that mixure 50/50 is found to be best, So I assume it to be 50 whey and 50 casein, 50 casein is coming only from the MPI which is 80% casein. A bit more calculations and you know the exact amount of each ingredient that is put.

Leucine peptides doesn't count as protein, maybe is counted in some tests but it is not complete protein so the 50/50 is something else, and the pepform leucine is just an addition to this mix.

Well, then it sounds like it isn't very proprietary then. With some simple math and the information they willingly provide, you figured it out....I would guess they don't want to be too specific on ingredient breakdowns because of labeling laws. If they say 50/50 and a batch turns out to be 48/52 or something it could be a stupid problem they created.

I understand you :) but i guess 48/52 is still legal, they will still have a range by % that they have to adhere to.

That's basically it + the leucine peptides. The leucine peptides do not count towards the total protein count but is still protected by being in the prop blend with the other proteins

Select hides the Leucine Peptides, that's why it's a prop blend. Assume "Not much PepForm". Great protein, I buy it, but that's why it's propped - to hide the expensive PepForm amount. If you have the money, you can find out exactly how much of what, is in there.

I have seen that most of the supplements that has Pepform leucine dose it as 100 mg per serving.
I don't know about select :D And if you go search a full tub of pure Pepform leucin... man it is really expensive.

But to be honest I tend not to trust Glanbia for extracting it out of whey... What does they do with the whey they got lift after extracting the leucine peptide :-S ? Sell it ? extract more out of it ?
I don't know...

Hahaha - and now a new can of controversial worms :D "Where does the protein with all the peptides extracted out of it, go?" :D
