Who feels like a 'cute' story?

Oh my gosh - they are saying now that it will be EVEN hotter tomorrow -

But my boy (my only child - 11 years old) is leaving in the morning for a five day trip WITHOUT ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As a single mom, he has never been away from me this long and my brother is taking him up to NY to see the BaseBall Hall of Fame and he has been psyched for weeks. Me, I am just not thinking about it, because I know that I will cry.

Anyway, he is acting all grown up and shows no signs of even wanting to miss me at all and this is just killing me, even though I know that it means that he is growing up right.

So, I am packing his stuff and he had this wallet out (he had never used before) It is one of those suede things that boys get for their 'first wallet' and he had written his name in it with masking tape and while I was laughing at this, I noticed that that there was a paper in the little compartment and it was a PICTURE of me!!!!!!! I put it back in the compartment and did not say a word - but it means a lot to me that he thought to do this.

Okay - I shared my story - NOW keep me company as he leaves at 6:30 am from Philly tomorrow.

That's sweet that he's taking a picture of you!

I remember my dad taking me to Cooperstown when I was about his age, also. It still is my favorite trip that I've been to. There is a ton of stuff to see there, not only inside the HOF, but the whole town. I know your son will have a great time with his uncle.

No whey - but I did pack wwwwwwaaaaayyyyy too much for his short trip...........man, I cannot imagine him leaving for college - I just can't:jaw: :jaw:

At about that same age or younger my uncle took me to Cooperstown to see the inductrination of Mickey Mantle.

A memory for a lifetime :)

Go Yankees!!!

Moms are the best thing a boy ever had. Without them we would have never made it here and with them it makes it easier to be here :)

Nice story Laura. You should be so lucky to have such a great kid. Finding your picture in his wallet is priceless. Lets you know how much he cares about you. You're obviously doing a great job raising him.
