whey protein from walmart?

Yeah, I guess there are also people who will not buy generic ibuprofen and spend extra for advil........................................................Compare the absolute "best" protein to this and tell me how much of a difference there is.....quantify it for me as far difference in absorbtion etc.....

There are some medications that make no difference when you use the generic brand......but there are some that make all the difference in the world. It isn't the compound itself, but the processing and delivery.

There is around 20g of protein in 100g of the bark from a Black Locust Tree. Try that out and let me know if there is a difference in protein.....

............yes, there is a difference.

LOL bro I'm not comparing two inherently different sources of protein! I'm comparing two protein powders, one cheap and one expensive, in a hypothetical scenario in which both provide approximately 20g of protein in a 25-30g scoop. Your argument (in this case) is moot.

Actually, I really don't give a sh*t about all that because I like the Walmart protein and will keep using it but I just felt like making some of you naysayers work a little to support your positions....ha ha

I don't mind working, it is my duty to abolish ignorance. LMAO, I am so jk. Seriously though, if you like the brand and it works for you....that is a no-brainer. You should keep using it. I've seen it for $12.99 for 2lbs. I mean, if you like it, why wouldn't you buy it? I just take my bodybuilding pretty serious, and it doesn't fit in with my diet. So, I won't be using it again.

There is nothing moot about nitrogen synthesis/retention.

hilarious, you guys will spend 50 bones on deisel test or prime or some sh!t but when it comes to the absolute essentials your gonna skimp and get a crap protein????? This cracks me up.

nah bro I just said your analogy wasn't the best. You seem fairly knowledgeable and very involved in this subject matter, so... what's the difference in nitrogen retention and synthesis when comparing a high end protein to the walmart brand? What's the price difference for that? (how much more are you paying for the premium brand?)

(out of curiosity, not trying to be a ****)

You don't get it do you? It is not the protein itself. It is the additives. That is why I used the tree bark analogy. You could take 100% whey hydrolysate and mix it with sunflower seed shells and corn kernals....there is high protein concentrate, but it won't all(or much) get absorbed. You'll just end up with a pretty picture in your bowl. With these brands, the protein itself may even be a good quality whey, it is the additives that are suspect.

BF Profile

Ingredients: Super Whey Protein Blend (Whey Protein
Concentrate, Whey Protein Isolate), Super Recovery
Blend (Creatine Monohydrate, Taurine, L-Glutamine,
Leucine, Isoleucine, Valine), Cocoa (processed with
alkali), Natural and Artificial Flavors, Soy Lecithin,
Cellulose Gum, Acesulfame Potassium, Sunflower
Lecithin, Sucralose.

NutraPro profile

INGREDIENTS: Ultra pure, instantized ion-exchanged whey protein concentrate, ultra pure cross-flow microfiltration whey protein isolate, soy lecithin, natural and artificial flavors, sucralose, acesulfame potassium.

There is a difference in the protein used itself, but again, it is the additives that should be suspect as well.
Now whats your problem with what addidtives? I dont see any additives in there that could possibly hinder absoption except maybe cellulose gum which is a commonly used thickener and i serious doubt it will bind to the protein. Now i dont know if they have to specify whether or not they are just using cellulose gum or sodium cellulose gum as the sodium variety facilitates disintegration and would make sense that the sodium version is the one being used. Either way it should not hinder absorption.

There should be very little difference unless that brand gives you the ****s lol. The real thing i would question is how clean the cheap brand is but i have not found and random nasty ****, have not been sick, and have not had the ****s so it works for me. If i could splurge and get the good stuff i would but usually i cant. Nutrapro is "the good stuff" however and is dirt cheap for what you get. When i finish the protein i got im going to end up getting some.

I rather have more quality protein in my protein that glutamine and creatine and god knows what else.

To each his own. Like i said, if i can afford it, ill get the good stuff, but i have no doubt that the walmart brand is perfectly safe and effective and nothing, so far, suggest that it isnt

It's safe, but I suggest switching to something else one month out of the year to see if digestion improves. I realy think the walmart stuff led to some gunk building up in my digestive tract over time.

I get lots of fiber:biglaugh: But i do switch it up when i find better stuff on sale like nutrapro! Cant wait to get me some of that

exactly!

Nobody mentioned this, but if the same product was sold at Whole Foods or anything other than big-box, bad-image Walmart, this would be one of the most popular proteins...and it'd be about $30/tub

I just bought the whey protein shots from walmart. They have have 26 grams of protein in them and i bought them for days i am in a rush. What do you guys think of these any good?

I bought Six Star a couple years ago, and for the first time in my life, I actually threw a product away. It must have been pure whey concentrate to keep costs down, I was basically glued to the toilette 24 hours a day, even after giving it well over a week to see if symptoms would be reduced.
