Just wanted to say that despite the fact that (1) I live in Ohio (2) I live like an hour away from Detroit (even less if I disregard speed limits) I am a Colorado fan and Pro-"Red Wings can just f*ckin' Eat it".

those were the days. I used to be really big into hockey back then, probably because there was so much talent in the league back then. I haven't really been paying close attention to the NHL after the lockout (mainly because of school).

same here. I was really into it while the flyers were resurging under keith primeau as well, but last year was a disaster for the orange and the black. When I graduate, I plan on having season tickets, and getting back into hockey.
I was never really into the west teams, but the avs were undeniably a force, with forsberg, roy, and sakic. Great teams.
anyways, if anyone can find a good video of a person getting decked on heely's, that'd be sweet as well.

I loved their '96 team when they moved from gay Quebec and won the cup.
Sakic, Roy, Lemieux (claude), Foote, and (my all-time favorite player) Forsberg. (there's more talent, but those are the one's I remember off the top of my head).

It was a bitter sweet victory. We partied our asses off, light the town on fire, threw a parade, but something was missing; a Denver Broncos Championship...
But yeah that was a killer team. Deadmarsh, Ozilinch (sp?), ah and a Russian whos name skips me :frustrate
I remember the winning goal from Uwe Krupp!!

I had to go to bed before the game was ended. (It went on until like 4am EST). Uwe (Ooo-Vay, in case anyone's curious how you say it) was another stand-up player.
Vanbesbruck played his ass off between the pipes that game. It was IMO the best Stanley Cup Finals Series of the decade. But then again, whenever the Wings or the Devil's don't win, that's a great series. (No offense to either team, I'm just not a fan for legacy teams like that).
Oh, and all Wings vs. 'Valance games are AWESOME. As much as I don't like the redwings, and root for Colorado, the rivalry between these two teams always makes for an exciting match-up.
