When Do You Sweat?

So I was paying attention to something odd this morning that I started to notice a few weeks ago and it has to do with when I sweat during my workouts. Or I should say when I don't sweat.

I work hard at the gym but no matter what I do I never sweat when I am in the middle of my workout. Perhaps I glow just a touch if I am running a long distance or other cardio centered activities but no waterworks. Rather than get hot i actually get cold...my body feels cold to the touch all over.

When I'm finished with whatever it is I am doing and walking to my car that's when it feels like someone dumped a bucket of water right over my head and cranked the heat up! It's really really strange and I hope someone else has this issue lol.

Sounds to me like you are sweating, but the sweat is using your body heat to evaporate, leaving you cold. If you wear a tank top, try a t-shirt and see if that keeps you warmer. I used to have that problem when I used a moisture wicking shirt, so went back to a cotton T.

Maybe, leaving the temperature controlled atmosphere enhances the sweat.

I see you live in Maine. I'm further south and the humidity and heat are enough to kill here.

All day every day, especially after I consume a preworkout and start a training session.. Have you ever measured your hearts beats per minute to figure out your perceived rate of exertion? I don't know for sure or how, but I think heart rate going up ties into sweating some how or another

BTW, as my grandfather used to say "pigs sweat, gentlemen perspire, and ladies gently glow".

Maybe that explains why you don't sweat. :33:

Pigs dont sweat, lol :D

I sweat profusely as in a puddle maker in any type of stationary high HR exercise. I use an HR monitor and see my HR increase during squats to the same level as when spinning intensely. Difference is Spinning is continuous and squating is intermittent. Sweat heavily during weights but it is on/off depending on HR load.

When I train outside I perspire profusely. Hr is always elevated due to nearly non-stop activity.. Currently consume 2.5 liters in the MIami heat. I would swear every drop and more departs my body in that 1.5 hr workout. Appears as if I have just come out of the pool.

I am very lean as well down to 10.5% BF. Hydrate heavily during the day.

I sweat the second my heart rates goes up but I also have a medical disorder where my core temp is always slightly elevated. So I sweat alot and if you give me general anesthetic my body will overheat and cook my brain like an egg. Fun fun lol
