What's up with Stallone

That's a great quote and as a Rocky fanatic I'll finish it for you.

"Today I've seen a lot of changes. The way you guys felt about me and the way I felt about you. At the beginning of this fight you didn't like me and I didn't like you either. Today you saw two guys killing each other but that's better then 200 million. What I'm trying to say is if I can change...and you can change....we all can change!"

Thanks.

I'd have to go with Cobra as the "best" Stallone movie, though. I've been walking around with a match hanging out of my mouth ever since.

My bad, I meant "Tango & Cash". And it wasn't "Lock Out" but instead "Lock Up".

I'll admit, "Demolition Man" was pretty damn good. Other than the burgers and fries that he'd admitted to eating, what else do you all think he loaded on to play the sheriff in "Cop Land"?
Cheesecake.

Kurt Russel and Sly where the next Riggs and Murtaugh(sp) in Tango & Cash. Movie was funny as he!! and had lot's of great action scenes. Ah, those where the times of great cheesy action movies(wished there was another Commmando).

Looks to me that he's upped his doughnuts and coffee and an occassional In & Out Double Double Cheeseburger combo.

Oh damn I miss Double Doubles. I have to get back to the west coast for a while. All we do in NY is freeze half the year and eat Italian food.

I was always hoping for a sequel to that one. Great cornball movie fun. Bazooka boots and the SUV from Hell.

Yeah I've seen it a few times Prld2gr8ns, but damn I couldn't find it on today... all this Sly talk, I'm going to have to get my fix at Rocky tonight. :D

Sounds like Ubi is about to jerk off to Rocky and Rambo tonight....LOL

Bro, do you have a DVD player? You can probably find it at Net Flix.

I am pretty equipped Chosen1 :)

I'm just going to a theatre tonight and check out some 60 year old dude whoopin' some ass on the big screen.. that should satisfy that monkey on my back.

It's a shame, CDB, that you can't order a few of them on their website....lol

And I noticed that NO ONE even mentioned wanting to own or rent the one video that Sly did before he began his career as an actor. That is, when he did a low budget porn video......lol.

Here's something for the bros who seem to be getting a major hard-on for Stallone. LOL>>>

I don't know that I'd want to see that. It'd be... weird. Kind of like seeing Ward Cleaver shooting a load onto June's face. Just knocks the whole image into a cocked hat.

I nominate this post for the "Best Use of Ward Cleaver's Name in an Internet Thread" award. :clap2:

Hey Turner and Hooch was good, but "Stop or my Mom will Shoot" was the best cop movie of all time.

Demolition man was the best "cryogenically frozen for 60 yrs, and now i have to save San Angeles," .. movie of all time, lol <---:wtf:

I thought he was already shooting Rambo 4, and any movie that has Taco Bell as the only resturant that survives a post apocolyptic war is golden in my view. By the way, "Day Light" was the best underwater tunnel movie of all time.

haha true, i forgot they did already start shootin it. Get carter was the best 40 yr old hitman movie, and judge dredd was the best ," i have a talkin gun and im wearin black football gear wit spandex," movie ever.

I saw it last night, thought it was quaint to the series. Much better book ending then V IMO.

just watched V for vendetta last night, its now the best "shakespearin' quotin guy wearing a freaky mask that kills guys with his 6 knives," movie ever. Ill see rambo fo so' though although im really waitin for arnold to quit bein governor so he can do conan 3 and true lies 2:jaw:

Remember,remember the fifth of November.

I don't know if Arnold is going to go back into movies, he just won the November elections and is set for another 4 yrs. I have heard that T4 is in the works regaurdless of Arnies involvment.

V was good, could have used more Rocky though.LOL

I think Conan III is on ice and not likely to come off. Based on the last Terminator movie, I'm not so sure I'd want them to make another. The time jumping theme has worn thin, the only way to refresh the series is to go to the future and maybe focus on John Connor during his rise to command or them beating the machines in the future, something like that.

Governors should not be afraid of their people, the people should be afraid of their governor. Because the governor is cumming day and night!

Gh can bloat you like that... Acromology only happens to people who have a propensity for that condition, or at insane doses which would yield other disgusting sides.. I doubt that, I was referring to bloat... :)

Then again, what do I know.

Stallone actually is a really intelligent guy contrary to popular belief, and obviously trains very hard regardless.

I agree, a lot of the hollywood stars are on GH and anyone who's been into bodybuilding knows to use the stuff.

yup i heard conan prob was on ice, but i did read an article saying that the script for tru lies 2 as well as the cast of JL curtis and tom arnold already agreed to do it as soon as arnie gets outta office. Guess james cameron will have to wait " 4 MORE YEARS" as Arnold said it during his first campaign lol.

There's only about 2 more years into his reign so I can forsee a T4 in the making. Afterall, he's only allowed 2 terms.....THANK GOD!!!

IMHO, he's a better action actor than he is a governor.

I thought he just won the re-election in Nov. In that case he would have 4 yrs left..... right. Either way, I would love to see some of these sequels if the man can do it justice.( and I think he could)

My bad, I forgot about the past elections. All that I remember of it is that I didn't vote for him.

Hey, BigV I was hoping you'd stop this thread. Get out and see the movie I'll bet you'll like it.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but finally saw Rocky VI. I loved it - it was a great end to the series. The training and fight scenes were great - the whole flick was really well done. I'll probably watch it again today:)

Yep, I'm waiting for the new box set to come out in November before I purchase any rocky's.

V did you get a chance to watch that new directors cut of Rocky 1?

The guy is pretty ****ing old.

He is looking better than many people half his age!

Maybe he just ate to much pasta? Maybe he is bulking? haha.

I didnt yet - but Im also waiting for the big set to come out in HD and Ill be getting it as soon as it comes out.

Stallone is the man - I mean to make the 5th sequal to a legenday series and not **** it up - to make it that great of a movie is a huge achievement, IMO.

Now we've got Rambo 4 coming out which looks like it's going to be awesome...The life lessons he tries to drive home in the Rocky films - not blaming other people for your problems and going after your dreams, etc really hit home for me and are really pretty motivating.

With more and more people turning into sissy *****es that shirk responsibility and accountability for their actions, its nice to see someone that still knows how to kick ass.

BV

Yeah, seems like this one really hit a message hard about life and how one deals with it, something that makes it a really good movie.

John Rambo looks awesome too, anybody have a idea of when it's coming out?

I'm glad it's good, the Rocky series was a big thing in my youth. I'mma watch it today or tomorrow.

There's a good link that shows how nasty Stallone has gotten. I agree with the effects of aging, but I've never really been too impressed with Stallone personally. I've always kinda viewed him as Arnold's shadow.

I think he looks pretty good for a 61 year old guy...his face looks a lot 'thicker' than it did when he was younger though. Maybe from GH use - but he's also a lot more massive all over - look at the thickness of his chest compared to shots of him from 10-15 years ago.

I dont think Arnold is the same level of actor as Stallone...I've never seen an Arnold movie where he can reach a level of drama and emotion in his character like Stallone can. Arnold is legend in his own right that I dont think will ever be surpassed...but so are the characters that Stallone has created like Rocky and Rambo.

That's the difference - Stallone's films have always been more about the characters he's portraying, whereas Arnold is always Arnold, no matter what role he's in.

Truth!

Stalone is regarded as being able to make movies that not only entertain the action crowd, but are in fact also works of art. Rocky aned First Blood were perfect examples. Yes he's had some awful Arnold-clone rolls like Cobra (which IMO was entertaining anyway), The Specialist, and Assassins. Arnold has never really been a good actor. He's been an action star. You expect certain things when you go to an Arnold movie and with very few exceptions you get them.

Arnold never had a Rocky and he never had a First Blood. Stallone is a more talented actor for sure. Plus Stalone has written and directed some good movies too.

Keep this in mind, Arnold may be the ultimate aciton hero, but Stalone has won 2 Oscars. One for Best Actor and one for Best Original Screenplay.

Yeah those 'pure action' Stallone movies are great too...I've seen Cobra tons of times and I always enjoy it.
