What's up with reputation points?

Forgive my forum ignorance. How do you get reputation points? I get messages saying somebody gave me reputation points but they never change next to my profile.

This has been going on since I first started, haven't really paid much attention to it but I've been scratching my head trying to figure it ou, lol.

If a person that reps you has low enough rep points, you might not even see your points change.
The amount that they can rep you is based upon their own rep points. (IME)

A mod blocked my ability to get rep points once, I gues I pissed him off. For like 2 years I got repped dozens of times but I was still at 0. lol. Somebody just recently unlocked it because I was bichin about it lol
 
Anybody know why the removed the symbols? Or am I missing something here as well!
I thought the symbols were pretty cool..
 
Still don't understand but anything that makes my schlong longer I'm down for.

So renew 1 sends me 2802 rep points according to the little message I got. I went from 125 to 126

Yep. That's how it works. LOL.

You only receive a percentage of the points.
 
Once you break 10k rep power you gain access to “real gear” sub section
25k rep power unlocks “forum females nudes” subforum
50k+ rep power gives you the power to watch Admin toilet cam - so worth it the time and energy
