Hi guys I'm new here been reading for a while but now I need some help I'm trying to get down to 235lbs and to do this I want to crack down on my diet the problem is all the tdee's I use gives me different amounts so what one do I go by? Can I just use the amount that fitness pal gives me or something else? I've managed to half-azz it from 390 to 268 since August 2012 but I want to get it down packed so I learn to eat right for the rest of my life

Anything would help thanks

Ok from what I can tell your BMR is 2414 plus your activity factor, this varies from 1.4-1.55 on lifting days. So between 3379 and 3741. If your can get a bodpod measurement I would be able to figure out a more accurate figure as fat cells aren't metabolically active but as a starting point the above figures should give you a baseline.

Thanks that's pretty close some of the other online ones thanks for your help right now I'm eat 2550 that's way to low guess that's why I've been feeling like crap

Yeah you don't want too much of a deficit at the start or else you don't really have the ability to adjust later on. I start at 3000kcals witha carb cycling approach. High carbs on leg and back days moderate carbs on chest and shoulders and low carbs on arms and off days.

I'll have to read about carb cycling right now I'm at a 45/30/25 with the 30 being good fats mostly nuts and avocados been staying away from grains it's more of a personal choice I feel better without them only been doing the higher fats thing for about a week thou
