Is the cissus used in cissus RX a standardized extract of the plant, or is it just certain parts of the herb? Whats the down low of where the actives are in this plant?

read the cissus article at synergymuscle.com.

We have a standarized extract but using a New method of extraction yielding a more active compound then traditional extraction methods....its our secret:}

There was a guy who ventured to buy some other cissus from another company and recieved pure tarr.

No, just would not cap easy, and you would to consume more but the effects may generally be the same.

There is an organic website selling 1 POUND of powdered Cissus quadrangularis for $5.00. Probably a **** product?
I think what they're selling is the pure extract in powder form. All that means is that you need to take more to get the same effect. If you read the text on cissus it says:

"The typical recommended daily dosage of Cissus extract is between 100 and 500 mg, depending on the concentration of the extract and the severity of symptoms. For the powder of the dried plant, the Ayurvedic texts recommend a dosage of 3 to 6 grams to accelerate fracture healing. Safety studies in rats showed no toxic effects at dosages as high as 2000 mg/kg of body weight. So not only is Cissus efficacious, it is also quite safe, in either the dried powder form or the commercially available extract."
