What Music Do You listen to while lifting?

Sepultura (arise), CRO-MAGS (we gotta know)...

:icon_lol: Also Sepultura's (desparate cry and my all time favorite ALTERED STATE)
Then you have Slayer (reign in blood, seasons in the abyss, dittohead)
Cannibal Corpse (I cum blood)

Great song for the heavy days Entombed (Wolverine Blues)
...Ummm,,I could go on and on but those are my definete mainstays)...

KoRn and old RATM. Some will hate on me for KoRn, but they can also kiss my sweet ass in return :FUfinger:

In all seriousness, seeing them live front row both times, fucking awesome experience!

I usually listen to hip hop but Ive been wanting to listen to something else. The only rock I have even come close to is Linkin Park. I know it isn't exactly rock but thats the closest I have gotten. What are some good ones out now? You guys say Disturbed is good?

I usually throw my iPod on when I don't feel like talking to anyone. In reality I'm not really even listening to the music.

I do enjoy the band Death quiet a bit though. :)

Killswitch Engage
Hatebreed
Lamb of God
Rammstein
Pantera
Bars
Fear Factory
Shadows Fall

Turns the blood, sweat, and tears of slingin iron into a righteous act.

dance and techno baby...

**** gets me in a fighting mood and with excellent pumps alone

2 of the sickest modern metal bands around: ILL NINO & DEVILDRIVER

if you have a pair you will buy any of their cd's and play them as loud as possible

devildriver's lead singer used to lead for coal chamber in case anyone is wondering...and as far as ill nino, they are slowly taking over the entire hardcore/metal scene.

the bands i listed are comprable if not better and heavier in some cases to hatebreed and disturbed. THEY WILL BLOW YOUR MIND.
Listened to a few of ill nino and they have some good rocking songs thanks for that post!

Hip-hop.

Love Pac. Have "How Do U Want It" in the MP3 player right now.

Also got some of the Rocky soundtrack in there - great stuff!

Buckcherry-Lit Up gets me pretty pumped up.
Kiss-Lick It Up is another one the fires me up.

Lately....the last 2 songs before I go into the gym are Anthrax-Skeletons in the Closet...and Anthrax - Indians.

I'd use my MP3 player, but I've kinda liked not being connected to anything while working out lately. Weird.

Slayer
Hatebreed
Sworn Enemy
Deadsoil
Pro-Pain
Remembering Never
Built Upon Frustration
No Retreat
Six Feet Under
and I really like the UFC Ultimate Beatdowns CD

really depends .... i usually like to lift to some like the agony scene or lamb of god depends on my mood though... somedays i find i can't lift to heavy music

pantera, old metallica, slayer, tool, stabbing westward, and every so often in an odd mellow mood Johnny Cash or George Jones.

I'm so behind the times, clueless on who these bands are.

I grew up on 70s rock, still have Nugent, Aerosmith, etc. in my Zen player, the most contemporary additions would be the Foofighters and the Stone Temple Pilots.

Can anyone suggest bands a relic like myself might want to check out?

yeah i've seen pennywise live a few times .. great live show ..

My ex-roommate and I got up on stage with pennywise at the warped tour 3 years ago. It was a wild time!!! We snuck back-stage and saw them sitting around, so just asked them if they would bring us up. They said sure and got us up there, it was AMAZING!

This is a really weird problem I have. I CANNOT wear headphones in the gym. Does anyone else experience this?

Whenever I have headphones on my breathing/heartbeat begin to regulate themselves in time with the beat of the music....

I have read studies that have proven this is a natural response to music, but was wondering if you guys feel the same? I got an Ipod nano from my girl for my birthday and cant even use it in the gym :(

Radiohead is my suggestion it gets better the more you listen to it.
I mostly liked Led Zep , Rush etc but decided to update my music a couple of years ago. some good nu metal bands are Mudvayne and disturbed and Godsmack proably will suite you

Tool
At the Drive-in
angrier NIN songs
Linkin Park (it's throw-away music but it pumps you up)
Led Zeppelin - Kashmir (makes feel like big things are happening)
System of a Down
Some Trance as well

Praise the lord for MP3 players:

Guns N' Roses
Linkin Park
System of a Down

Anything that can incite a feeling of extreme anger.

Note: My all time fav is Jimmy Buffett.... but ol' Jimmy just doesn't cut it when you're shoulder pressing 100 lb. dumbbells. lol.

Mostly Hip Hop... As of late it has been Young Jeezy and The Diplomats.
Diplomats get me pretty motivated in the gym sometimes. Especially "ground zero". I've put up some pr's on that song.

I work at the school gym so I have to watch what I play. On the other hand, I'm one of the few who actually needs to get pumped up for my lifts so I play what I want when I need to get my head on.
Here's the goods:
Slipknot (Wait and Bleed still gives me goosebumps)
Alice In Chains
White/ Rob Zombie
Disturbed
Killswitch Engage
Damageplan
Soilwork
In Flames
Sevendust
Mudvayne
Devil Driver
Korn
NIN
Rammstein
Mushroomhead
Nonpoint
Pantera

It'd be cool to get an all time fav. lifting songs list. Kinda like a sampling of everyone's songs that get them pumped like no other.

Pantera( walk),Testament, Dying Fetus(killing on adrenaline rocks), Goratory,Hatebreed, Six feet under, Sepultura( Territory live). Guttral secrete, just a few to get amped:head:

It really depends on my mood.

Some days I listen to no music because I'm in a crazy mood just to hit the gym hard.

When I'm not on one of those days I listen to different types of music once again depending on my mood.

Atmosphere(Really only rap I enjoy)- When I'm in the mood to have a nice beat and some intelligent words while I work out.
Children of Bodom- When I need some endurance - Very fast melodic metal from finland.
Underoath(Old)- If I'm in a normal mood
At the Drive in- If I'm in a mellow mood.
Killswitch Engage- Once again refer to Underoath
Maylene and the Sons of Disaster- If I'm in a really trashy mood haha

If we had a way to put together a disk with the top 20 or 30 songs people like, that would be cool. It would also give people a chance to sample some new stuff. Broaden their horizons so to speak. Money made goes to support the board. Just an idea.

I usually don't care whats on, although I can't stand techno, and rap really.

I like to listen to classic rock, 80's,

if I put on a tape or cd it's usually-
soilwork
trivium
hatebreed
appatite for destruction (G'n R)
Global grip challenge 2005 cd that I competed in, it's a 2-cd set with every competitor's favorites everything from metallica,AC/DC,priest, hatebreed, Jonny Cash, avenged sevenfold, autium ahes (whoever they are), and eye of the tiger......and no rap at all!!! I love those cds.
