Talenti Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Gelato

Overall its a good pint, but its nothing to go nuts over. Oatmeal Cookie Chunk if it were still out reigns supreme over this one by a margin. The base is good do not get me wrong, it just has a stronger cinnamon and brown sugar taste to it as the oatmeal cookie flavoring of the gelato fades. The raisins were a bit of a let down, but the oatmeal cookie chunks made up for it in the end. Would I Re-Scoop? Possibly, but Salted Peanut Caramel was better. I have yet to try Hazelnut Chocolate Chip which gets the most rave of the new flavors.

Overall if you are a chocolate lover look no further. NO Ice Cream Co did a good job on packing a very dense and bold flavored base with a perfect white chocolate compliment in chocolate chips. I would not hesitate to pick this one up, but for those who do not enjoy white chocolate it may turn you down. Lots of mix-ins, a very powerful base, and a good mix of white/milk chocolate leaves me lingering for another pint! If NO Ice Cream Co decided to combine the chocolate chunk mix-in with the milk chocolate ice cream base I fear it may have been too rich for many, they made a smart choice in using a white chocolate compliment.

Chocolate Shoppe Mackinac Island Fudge Ice Cream

Overall the description and pint seems incredible simple on paper, but is executed to perfection. Besides a very basic vanilla base the fudge swirl and fudge mix-ins raise the bar to a new level. The incredible tasting mix-ins and thick swirl make you digging deeper for another bite after putting your last one down. Easily the best fudge mix-in and best fudge swirl I have ever laid my hands on. The quality of using the Mackinac Fudge set this pint worlds above 2nd Street truck stop fudge, Ben & Jerry's Fudge Brownie, and Talenti Fudge Brownie. If you are a fudge fan you need this in your life immediately.

Steves Brooklyn blackout cake

Brooklyn blackout cake is a Milk chocolate ice cream with chocolate stout cake pieces and dark chocolate pudding.
The ice cream was good by itself, solid chocolate base. The pudding swirl enhances the flavor making it more desirable after the first bit. The cake pieces, wow they are good and plenty. As I dug down every spoonful had enough cake pieces to satisfy my need. I would give this a solid B+ rating, if there was more pudding swirl it would have been an A. Next up for me is the Speculoos cookie

Damn, dont have that around here
Just speculoos, mexican chili, vanilla, coffee cinnamon, and banana budding all of which i had

The banana is very good
Speculoos in my freezer.

Steve's is one brand I have not tried but that sounds a lot like the Coolhaus Chocolate Maltzan Cake pint I just ate.

From your picture it looks like the cake pieces in Steve's are smaller than the Coolhaus but maybe more of them...
I also gave it a B+ rating, thinking back now the cake pieces in the Coolhaus kind of reminded me of two bite brownies :)

Wegmans does not stock Steve's (at least in Erie)
I have had Brooklyn Blackout before and thought it was VERY VERY mediocre

then again not much in my pint at all

Mine must have gotten hooked up then lol. Whoopie pie will be bought next, after i eat the speculoos

Steve's is at my local wegmans as well. Grabbed the salty caramel and honestly was pretty disappointed. I may still give the whoopie pie a try next in hope maybe I just got a dud on my caramel tub.

I've been working my way through all the chips ahoy flavor.

Haven't met a flavor yet I don't like. The oatmeal ones are on point

Ben & Jerry's Brewed To Matter

Overall as a coffee fan I enjoy the Ben & Jerry base. Coffee Coffee buzz buzz was a good pint, and I wish Ben & Jerry would utilize the coffee base more often in their lineup. The medium based coffee flavor was strong and provided a nice aftertaste from first bite to last. the Fudge Chunks were massive in size, and were not shy of the thickness or texture in each bite. The brownie batter swirl on the other hand I had higher hopes for in thickness and flavor. While this is a step up from Coffee Coffee buzz buzz with the density of the mix-ins (especially the fudge chunks), the swirl could be upgraded to make this a better offering.

Went to Denny's last night with wife and three kids been busy all day so didn't get to eat much, sever ask what I wanted : 8 eggs, 13 oz t-bone, two ham slices, double order broccoli. He proceeded to say "ok will that be it for all of you" I laughed and What's our price on brisket and pork butts this week? was like "no that's just for me" the look of shock and digest on his face was priceless the sad thing is I still had another 650 calories to go.

Gelato Fiasco Raspberry Truffle Sorbetto

Invalid Link Removed

Invalid Link Removed

The Sorbetto is very light in texture, much lighter than some of the other Gelato Fiasco offerings I have had (Blueberry, S'mores, PB, Cookie Therapy). The texture seems airy, very light, and literally melts shortly after you take your spoon to the base. The Chocolate Truffles were more along the lines of thick chocolate chunks. I came across at least a dozen of them throughout the gelato from top to bottom. A fantastic raspberry base with some thick chocolate chunks with great flavoring for only 170 calories a serving is a winner in my book.
