What Do You Do If You Cannot Get Blood Work?

I want to kick off my first cycle of hdrol but I don't have access to getting blood work like most of you. It's very difficult to get hormone panels done in NY due to state medical billing laws and would require a prescription for each one you get. I did some research on saliva hormone test kits where you send your saliva into the lab and they send you the results. It's a little more expensive than most blood test, but it has been shown to be accurate. Problem is, it's still a hormone test, and because I live in NY they are refusing to send the kit because it would violate the state laws.

I am pretty sure that this is not just NY either. I think there are other states that have these same laws that prevent you from getting blood work. So there has to be some other guys on this board who have faced the same issue. To those guys, what did you do?

My insurance covers the endocrinologist visits just pay a $20 copay and they do it
Just did a full panel with my yearly checkup and it was free

I think my insurance requires a referral for a specialist, but I'm pretty sure I can get my doctor to sign off on a full hormone panel for the year. The problem I'd have is I'd have to wait at least another year before the next test. I was hoping to get it done pre cycle than post PCT to make sure I recovered. Is once a year sufficient?

Make the drive to a different state or find a doctor that will work with you some. I’d say pre cycle bloodwork would be sufficient for now, the chances of you not recovering are very slim, but it would be nice to know where you started out originally before ever cycling.

I never got blood work before my first cycle and really wish I would’ve. I’ve gotten multiple since, but it’s not worth as much since I don’t know what my baseline was to compare to.

Yeah but you cannot pay out of pocket in NY without a prescription. Traveling out of state isn't a terrible idea, but definitely annoying. I'll probably get my baseline and then just get it done once a year. Thanks guys!
