What are the chances?

Today at work a buddy of mine came in with Brush guard and didnt want to pay my boss the money to put it on. I put it together and he said he is gonna give me some homemade test. As much as I want. My buddy has been making it for over year while injecting himself for over 60 weeks straight with no problems. What are the chances of getting an infection and besides using clean needles and alcholing the injection site can be done to prevent an infection from occuring. I am going to take the test but not use it untill I am 100% confident in doing so. He is my bud, so I know he wont F me on the process or actual product, but I have never injected before. Thanks for the help.

there is NO way to answer the question because there are so many factors that can cause infection

Exactly. Follow safe clean injection techiniques and if still that uncertain filter it and bake it yourself.

Kwyck posted something about hydrogen peroxide (i think) being better than alcohol.

He did. Peroxide was proven better for killing bacteria. But it can also with too high a concentration burn the skin. Alcohol as someone else brought out is could enough at 70% when friction (scrubbing) occurs. IMO your best bet would be to thoroughly wash skin with soap and water first then use alcohol.

If your close friend has been using it for that long with success, you should feel somewhat comfortable.
Just make sure it is a NEW bottle, that has had nothing drawn from it.
Follow completely sterile injection techniques and you should be fine.
I've been on HRT for over 5 yrs, with only one infection, and that was likely from running through a hair follicle/hair.
If you have REALLY hairy legs, shave the area down where you will inject.
