wednesday chest and triceps

ok i was doing flat bench press with dumbells i was doing 70 lbs but i got 7 reps and it didnt burn at all but my triceps just gave in and i dropped the weight whats going on do i still train on 70 lbs or go to 65 lbs and what happens if your training and it doesnt burn that muscle group your training?
 
Sounds like an issue with your form. Try keeping the chest up, concentrate on pushing with the chest and contract the muscles at the top of each rep.

Are you talking about the negative portion of the rep? You should try keeping dumbbells at 90 degree angle and keep the negative rep parallel with the chest. There are several videos you can view online to give you a general idea.

There's nothing wrong with lifting in the 6-8 rep range. You may consider an arms day to strengthen your triceps. Have you just started doing flat DB presses? It will take time to strengthen the stabilizers.
