ways to decrease androgen induced acne

I've heard B5 (pathothenic acid) and seasmin work well...is this true?

is there anything else that will help with acne...

brewers yeast seems to help me in general, which I believe is a load of B vits. Not sure if this would help with androgens though. I'm thinking that cleansing the skin through the day would be more effective as androgens casue spots as they make the skin oily.

B5 will help as will large amounts of Vitamin A. You could also try some Retin-A, or something like that, from IBE. Its a topical solution. Another topical product that helps is Nizoral Shampoo that is designed for dandruff. Its good at drying out the oil.

1) Guggulbolic - also lower LDL and helps with losing weight

2) 2 ounces of pure lemon juice. Watch out it is hard on teeth enamel and should be mix or chased with something like Orange juice.

Be careful if you use both of these together because they both dry your skin up a lot.

Couple things. I dealt with bacne (back acne, haha) for years without even touching aas, but now have it under control. The best thing I have found out of everything that works is a combination of 2% salicyclic acid cream, with 10% benzoyl peroxide cream. Put it on at night and leave it. Use in the morning too if that doesent work, but once at night works wonders for me.

Alpha Hydroxy Acids, specifically glycolic acid, can peel away alot of skin damage including that caused by acne.

If you get a red inflamed papule, put ice on it for several minutes to reduce the inflammation. You will see improvement the next day.

If you have a pustule (a "ripe" zit) sterilize a needle, and insert it directly into the pore of the pimple, at the same angle of the surrounding hairs, about 1/4 inch. work it from side to side to open the pore, then gently squeeze it out. Then, put ice on it.

You have to get the comedo out, it looks like a little seed. If you just get pus you did not get to the root of the problem. Assuming you got the comedo, the lesion will quickly resolve itself. Unless it is "ripe" leave all other pimples and whiteheads alone. Blackheads are ok to extract with an extractor.

You might want to pickup a book called AcneRx for further info.

this thread looks likes its on the backburner but for anyone still reading up on the subject an old trick of the trade (supposedly) is Dawn dish soap. no really. i get the antibacterial and its working wonders.

i apply it in the shower to my chest face delts and back and for the rest of the day there is a slippery "squeaky clean feeling" on the skin. no acne has sprouted yet (knock on wood)

retin A and nizoral shampoo are also in my arsenal

Holy crap! you can strip wax with dawn. You must have very oily skin.

Oh I have a couple other tips too. When you buy benzoyl peroxide cream, buy the OXY shower wash instead. It has the same % of benzoyl peroxide. One 6 ounce bottle is about the same price as a 1 ounce tube of the face cream. It is also less thick which makes it easier to apply to large areas like the back.

I am also going to try an experiment... salicyclic acid for acne is limited to 2%. However Denorex shampoo has 3%. I am going to experiment with using this. Going to try to find some more research on SA.

As a last resort you can use a trick dermatologists use, wrap your back in saran wrap overnight to occlude the medicine and increase penetration. This is only for the back which has thick skin. You will need assitance. If you don't have someone to help, you can take a pull string garbage bag and loop the pull string over your neck. Wear it like a cape.

Yes it looks silly as hell but it does work as a last resort. It does feel uncomfortable because your persperation does not evaporate.

hmm, I wonder if you could mix DSMO with acne meds to increase penetration?
