Vitargo vs Karbolic

Vitargo is solid, another good one to look into is glycofuse from gaspari (highly branched cyclic dextrins).

Personally, I've used many different carb products, and unless my dose exceeds 75g I prefer to just use dextrose due to cost.

Gonna have to agree with Glycophuse.....best carb powder I've used.

Havent used HBCD but am a big fan of Karbolyn. Ive tried many diff carb products and karbolyn pre workout gives me SOLID pumps, a visually noticeable increase in fullness and also allows me to work out longer and harder. I prefer it greatly to waxy maize, malto, etc.

Cant recommend Karbolyn enough.

Take glycofuse during and whole food after. You dont have to worry about the "magic window" if that is your worry for using liquid carbs postWO.

For instance, my preWO due to waking up and running out the door to hit the gym:

PreWO - IFN 100% Whey + KNO3 + Max Out
Intra - Compete + Glycofuse + BCAA
PostWO - Steak + Rice

Way more satisfying than drinking carbs when I would rather eat them.

Yes, I am thinking "magic window" for the liquid carbs. Also, I want to take in more calories overall to put on some mass. So I was thinking postWO w/ whey, liquid carbs, and an apple. Then, two hours later eat a real meal. Make sense?

try eating solid meal ~45min following that liquid shake immediately postWO, much better for your goal than waiting 2hrs after shake to eat

Just eat within 2 hours post workout. Preferably within 1 hour.

This!

The "designer" carbs tend to become popular then fade. Unless you have certain specific needs or if certain carbs cause stomach issues at high amounts, then just stick with something ilke Gatorade Powder. I personally use HBCD if I have to go high enough because too much Gatorade Powder does hurt my tummy a bit. :p

I would tend to agree that these aren't necessary unless you have a VERY specific lifting plan, such as UD 2.0 or another that requires carb-loading after a glycogen depletion state. Dextrose works better than almost anything for that purpose. Or if you need to replenish glycogen for a same-day event/endurance activity. For 99% of lifters however, a banana + something, would be as good if not better than an expensive carb powder.

I will say that Hydroxypropyl-distarch phosphate looks interesting. Not sure if it is currently available though.

Just curious, what about potato or tapioca starch, would that work?

Any reason someone would want to use those?
sure those are fine if you want
potato starch is interesting - pretty cheap, and has prebiotic properties as well..
I like to use brown rice syrup in some combination with whatever else I use too (ie dextrose/rice syrup mix, sometimes with WMS in the recipe too if I'm feeling real crazy)....try using various sources until you find what works best for you

Remember the old Beverly Int MASS MAKER? That had hydro brown rice syrup, that stuff was the **** and never hurt my stomach like their redesigned one with Malto...Malto kills me

sure I remember mass maker - where you think I was inspired to check out brown rice syrup from? :D that takes me back in the day..but - they reformulated it and now have malto? oh wow, iamdisappoint
malto = worthless, very shocked they would stoop to such level

nutrabolics - waxybolic
allmax - carbion

Maltodextrin bulk is super cheap, do you guys use it? I've done waxymaize too and dextrose for post. I need to down a protein shake because I dnt have time post workout and my appetite is fairly low within the next 2 hrs.

My gut just doesn't agree with having 80 or so grams of it rumbling around whilst I work out. Post workout is a non-issue and going for carb powder for post is a waste. If you don't have time to have a meal, just down a protein shake and get a meal in you 2 hours later.

Eating is a job man, has nothing to do with your appetite :P

Any time of the day I hve awesome appetite. It's just the hard lifting and stims that cuts my appetite for a couple of hours. I know it's a job but I want to love my job too :)

nope, garbage stuff

now we're talking, much better

so do what works for you, worry not about these opinions of what carbs are good when, powdered carbs waste postWO, blah blah blah ... there's no one size fits all, for anyone to tell you that what you are doing is wrong

Why do you say maltodextrose is garbage? Too slow for post?

too slow? no, lol..
just too over-the-top, upsets my stomach...not to mention higher GI than sugar itself .. and for what purpose?
simply have no use for it, a cheap carb that is always overcharged for....I simply prefer dextrose hands down

EFX Karbolyn is the best! (not to be confused with Karbolic) I've tried them all I get by far the best results with Karbolyn, it's also the best tasting and mixing and best buy for your money

nutrabolics - waxybolic
allmax - carbion

Thanks for the Carbion shout out. Carbion is a source of 6 different carb sources, from larger complex carbs to smaller, quick digesting sources. Also, Allmax carries plain waxy maize, in our more basic line up for those on a budget.

I can't say I've ever seen anyone eat poptarts intra, at my gym. :D

Interestingly enough, I've actually heard of this practice... not intra, but definitely post. Who would've thought that such a tasty treat would be useful? :D

Vitargo is by far the best, hbcd is next in line followed by karbloyn, glycoject, karbolic. Lastly i would recommend gatorade powder for the dextrose. IMO in that order is the best for efficacy, from what we have seen in the storefront from feedback and from personal use.

Dunno, I have mixed experiences with Vitargo, I like it but it could be gummy/thick/viscous. Thus I prefer HBCD first and Karbolyn second as those tend to keep the liquid as close to straight water consistency as possible. Dextrose I've had mixed results with, sometimes my stomach is ok with it, sometimes not so much.

For bulking i mix 1.5 scoops orange vitargo with vanilla isolate in 1/2 gallon ultra skim milk and i through in every cell volumizer i can with man sports leucine peptides. awesome intra drink.

Yeah, that would 110% make me puke in the middle of training or possibly have to go to the bathroom :P

Yea it took a while to get used to lol

No doubt lol

There is no bigger waste of money in the supplement world than carb powders. $50 for 2 pounds of vitargo? No thanks, I'll buy 50 pounds of potatoes for that price and won't notice a difference. All marketing.

I don't like potatoes intra workout but I do like something tasty to sip on.

If only my gut was ok with eating potatoes right before a workout as well as intra :P

Your tearing your muscle down why not supply it with the fastest and most efficient fuel while your training.
