vitamins left in rucksack for months

burbage

I've been away for 6 months and left 20 tubs of vitamins and minerals in a rucksack zipped up in a bedroom. The expiry date for all are end of 2017 as I only just bought them before leaving. I come back and all of the plastic tubs have brown mold type stains and some have dusty cobweb type stuff on lids.

I put them underneath tap to clean them. The vitamins look fresh and normal it's just the plastic tubs. Are they still good to go?

If they haven't expired and were kept in a dry, cool place it should be okay.

The brown mold is concerning. Was it kept in a place with a lot of moisture?

the process of the vitamins (and other powders ie salt, sugar etc) that start to turn called deliquescence- this will make them less effective and if you have brown and/or mold, throw them out
