Vitamin D3 Dosing

Hi,

What is optimal Vitamin D dosing? 10,000 IU? I keep finding so many different answers.

I plan to get 6,000 IU from Activate Extreme, 1,000 from Orange Triad, and 5000 IU from a natural health capsule.

Is 12,000 IU fine or is it too much? I can drop the natural health capsule but then only getting 7,000 IU a day

Thanks

What are your 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels? Talk to your physician about what an appropriate dosage is based on your lab work.

Why not? There's no point in just randomly guessing and throwing crap in our bodies without some science to back it up. Not trying to be a jerk dude, but labs are a much smarter and safer way to go about these kinds of things.

shhhh man, your input is completely worthless. Im sure you go get a blood panel when youre deciding how much protein to intake when in a calorie surplus etc. If i was doing PH/AAS then sure, a blood panel would warrant it.

Please dont go into threads posting as you do trying to bump your post count. nothing you said has any value to it what so ever, youre a sheep.

Holy crap you're a douchebag. I was just trying to be helpful. But not only do you get snippy in your reply, you negative rep me like 600,000 points? If you're not interested in feedback on here then what's the point of asking questions? And I'm not looking to bump my post count. I engage in threads that either interest me or post comments if I think I can help. Obviously you think you know more than you do, so good luck bitch.

how is what you said helpful? you think someone should spend $200 to find out if they should have 6000 or 7000 IU a day? you are literally a sheep. you wait for someone to post something then just copy them "yeah man you shouldnt do that"

thanks bro, you too, you look super cool man :)

Yes 12,000 is too much unless you have extreme deficiency or are only dosing EOD.

No more than 10,000iu per day from all sources including sunlight

I saw his post as helpful. If you're not deficient in Vitamin D, diagnosed by a doctor through blood tests then there really is no reason to take it.

Very, very few people are going to get labs to determine the amount of vit D they should supplement, so let's get off the crazy train. I know we talk about labs a lot here with regards to hormones, but not daily vitamin supplements.

Jiigzz is correct and about the standard answer you would get from a doctor if you asked them.

But joshlm69- a neg rep for a simple comment? C'mon man.

Best recco, IMO. The good thing is, Vitamin D overdose isn't really that major. There have been cases of mis-labling or in one case, a guy who worked in a factory that produced Vitamin D, that have taken MILLIONS of iu's and they just have to wear hats outside and take Prednesone for a while, LOL.

I remember a post ( can't find it now I'm on phone) where one dude who's wife was working on vitamins D medical research advised not to take without bloods. Anyway according to him his wife found that if you are not deficient then taking hight amounts of D ( over 8000-10000) can lead to calcification of veins or arteries ( can't remember exactly) and make more harm than good.
I hope that some knowledgeable members can post theirs thoughts. Is this really an issue?

A single 50,000iu gel cap weekly is standard dosing for individuals who are deficient. If you're spending at least an hour a day in the sun, there really isn't a reason for vitamin D supplementation.

I'm so far from the Equator, with a lot of white stuff on the ground for many months, I take 5,000 IU's a day.
